Toy Museum Stockholm

The Spårvägsmuseet, or Tramway Museum, was located at Tegelviksgatan 22 in Södermalm, Stockholm, Sweden. It was owned and operated by Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (the Greater Stockholm Local Transit Company), and shows the development of public transportation in the Stockholm area from the 1650s until today. The Museum's mission also covers contemporary and future public transport in the Stockholm region, and water transportation in the area. The museum also houses a library, an archive and a café. The museum closed to the public in September 2017 and reopened in May 2022 in a former gasworks building in the Hjorthagen neighbourhood.

Folkungagatan is a major thoroughfare and business street located at Södermalm in Stockholm, Sweden. The street runs between Söderledstunneln and Danviksbro. The street was named in 1885 and refers to the medieval House of Folkung.SoFo (short for "South of Folkungagatan") is an area located to the south of the street.

Hammarby sjö (Swedish: "Lake Hammarby") is a watercourse in central Stockholm, Sweden. Separating Stockholm City Centre from South Stockholm, or, more locally, Norra Hammarbyhamnen on eastern Södermalm from Södra Hammarbyhamnen, it connects Saltsjön to Årstasjön. Covering a surface of 34 hectares and having an average depth of 4.5 metres (maximum 6 metres), Hammarby sjö is supplied by a drainage area covering 159 hectares and contains 1,600,000 cubic metres of water. Originally a lake about 3 metres deep, it was transformed into a canal when connected to Saltsjön in the 1920s and a 6 metres deep channel was dug between Hammarbyslussen and Saltsjön and another to Sickla sluss. The importance of the water expanse has grown since the late 20th century as new residential areas have been constructed along its shores.Four bridges stretch over Hammarby Sjö and connected bodies of water: Danviksbron, Skansbron, Skanstullsbron and Johanneshovsbron.

Masthamnen and Yttre Masthamnen are the eastern extension of the Stadsgårdshamnen in Södermalm, Stockholm, Sweden. The wharf area, which is owned by the corporation Stockholms Hamnar, is about 600 metres long, and is mostly located between Londonviadukten and Fåfängan on one side and Saltsjön on the other, it stretches from Varvsbranten in the west to the mouth of the Danvikskanalen channel in the east. Today, Masthamnen serves the Viking Line cruiseferries while Yttre Masthamnen serves international cruise ships.

Danviksbron or, alternatively, Danviksbro ("Danvik Bridge") is a bascule bridge in central Stockholm, Sweden, connecting the eastern end of Södermalm to the eastern municipality Nacka. Under the bridge, the canal Hammarbykanalen carries the water of Hammarby Sjö over to Saltsjön. The bridge, actually two separate bridges, carries the railway Saltsjöbanan and a road. For unknown reasons the location of the bridge, like many other places along the shores of Sweden and Norway, was named 'Danviken', meaning danernas vik, "The Bay of the Danes", and until the early 20th century most people called it Dannviken (short a, like Danmark is still pronounced) rather than, as is common today, Daanviken (long a).

Sicklauddsbron (Swedish: "The Bridge of Cape Sickla") or Apatêbron ("Bridge Apatê") is a bridge in central Stockholm, Sweden. It stretches over Sickla kanal in Södra Hammarbyhamnen. The name Sickla is believed to be derived from a 15th-century provincial word, sik, meaning "minor marsh". The bridge is named Apatê, a Greek word meaning mirage or illusion. Designed by the architects Magnus Ståhl, Erik Andersson (architect), and Jelena Mijanovic, it was awarded the European Steel Design Award in 2003.Sicklauddsbron is a stainless steel pedestrian bridge, 62 metres in length. The load-bearing sections are made of 80 tonnes hot-rolled duplex stainless steel gauge plates, 25 mm thick, which were water cut, flanged, and welded before being reassembled on the site. From the concrete abutments tension cables stretches the central part of the bridge, an arched box girder triangular in section. The lighting is built-in into the stainless steel handrails, while the pathway is covered with asphalt.

The Orion Theatre (Swedish: Orionteatern) is a theater located at Katarina Bangata 77 in the district of Södermalm in Stockholm, Sweden. Orion theater was founded in 1983 and is the city's largest avant-garde stage.

Vita Bergen (lit. The White Mountains) is a park area of Södermalm in Stockholm. The former civil defence center Pionen, now used to host a data center is located there.Vita Bergen is also mentioned in the novel The Red Room by August Strindberg as the place where Ygberg, one of the characters, lives.

Hammarby Sjöstad is a part of the inner city of Stockholm, currently undergoing major urban redevelopment. It is located on both sides of lake Hammarby Sjö, bordering Nacka Municipality to the east. The area is part of the districts Södermalm and Södra Hammarbyhamnen. Before the current redevelopment began, the area was known as Norra Hammarbyhamnen and Södra Hammarbyhamnen, a mainly industrial zone centered on the Lumafabriken works, a piece of functionalist architecture designed by Eskil Sundahl and Arthur von Schmalensee, which now houses a library and offices. The neighbouring Lugnet was a run-down light industrial area, not intended to be permanent, housing an impromptu trailer park. On the north side of the lake, the Norra Hammarbyhamnen area was used as a harbour area, with a railway connecting the area. New plans for most of the Södermalm area Norra Hammarbyhamnen in the early 1990s opened the door for a redevelopment of the entire area around the water expanse Hammarby Sjö. A general plan, featuring an extension of the Tvärbanan light rail link from Gullmarsplan through the area was presented. Although the south and east part of Hammarby Sjöstad is located outside what is traditionally considered to be the perimeter of inner-city Stockholm, the design is intentionally semi-urban rather than suburban, with boulevards, somewhat defined and architecturally varied city blocks, and commercial spaces in the ground floor of some buildings. The location, next to the lake Hammarby Sjö and a canal, Sickla Kanal, has allowed for plenty of quays and walkways along the water. The area also included the 1940s area Danviksklippan that remains unchanged of the ongoing development. Neighbourhoods includes most of Norra Hammarbyhamnen, Tegelviksgatan, Sickla Udde, Sickla Kaj, Luma and Sickla Kanal. Administratively, Hammarby Sjöstad is a part of the Stockholm Municipality borough of Södermalm. It belonged to the former borough of Katarina-Sofia, which merged with Maria-Gamla Stan borough into Södermalm borough on January 1, 2007.

Having served the city's shipping industry for centuries, Beckholmen is now regarded as a historical monument of national interest, and, by its location just south of Djurgården in the vicinity of other similar localities (including Skeppsholmen, Kastellholmen, Djurgårdsvarvet, and Blasieholmen) it also forms part of Royal National City Park, and Stockholms Sjögård (literally, "Sea homestead of Stockholm"), an area of the harbour of Stockholm containing maritime environments of historical interest.

Danvikens hospital was a historical Swedish hospital, insane asylum and retirement home in Stockholm, active in 1558–1861. The area belonged to Stockholms kommun until 1984, when it was transferred to Nacka kommun. The Danvikens hospital was founded by the initiative of King Gustav Vasa in 1558. The current building is designed by Göran Josuæ Adelcrantz (1668–1739) and dates back to 1718–1725. From the 1740s, the hospital also functioned as an Insane asylum. The hospital is frequently mentioned within literature and during the 18th and 19th centuries; the name Danviken was used in common language as a synonym for a "Mad House". A famous description of the Danviken Asylum was Fältskärns berättelser (The tales of a Feldsher) by Zacharias Topelius from the 1780s. The facilities was emptied in 1861 and the asylum closed in 1863 because of the decaying buildings. It is now used as an Art Gallery.

Sofia Church (Swedish: Sofia kyrka), named after the Swedish queen Sophia of Nassau, is one of the major churches in Stockholm, Sweden. It was designed during an architectural contest in 1899 and was inaugurated in 1906. It is located in the eastern part of the island of Södermalm, standing on the north east peak of the Vita Bergen park. Sofia church belongs to Sofia parish of the Church of Sweden.
