Ahuntsic-Cartierville (French pronunciation: ​[aɔntsɪk kaʁt͡sjevɪl] (local accent)) is a borough (arrondissement) of the city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The borough was created following the 2002 municipal reorganization of Montreal. The Bordeaux Prison (French: Prison de Bordeaux) is a provincial prison in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located at 800 Gouin Boulevard West in the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville. The prison was built in 1908 to 1912 by architect Jean-Omer Marchand to replace the aged Pied-du-Courant Prison. The prison currently houses male inmates sentenced to less than two years' imprisonment. It also houses prisoners awaiting trial. It is the largest provincial prison in Quebec, with a maximum capacity of 1,189 inmates. The prison was also an execution site, where 85 hangings were carried out by Quebec between 1912 and 1960.

Médéric Martin Bridge is a viaduct-type bridge in Quebec, Canada that spans Rivière des Prairies between Montreal and Laval. It carries 8 lanes of Quebec Autoroute 15, including 1 reserved bus and carpooling lanes. It was named after Médéric Martin, who was a Member of Parliament for St. Mary, then Mayor of Montreal. He was a resident of what is now Laval during his tenure as Mayor.

Incendies (French: [ɛ̃sɑ̃di] (listen); "Fires") is a 2010 Canadian drama film directed by Denis Villeneuve, who co-wrote the screenplay with Valérie Beaugrand-Champagne. Adapted from Wajdi Mouawad's play of the same name, Incendies stars Lubna Azabal, Mélissa Désormeaux-Poulin, Maxim Gaudette, and Rémy Girard. The story concerns Canadian twins who travel to their mother's native country in the Middle East to uncover her hidden past amidst a bloody civil war. While the country is unnamed, the events in the film are heavily influenced by the Lebanese Civil War and particularly the story of prisoner Souha Bechara. The film was shot mainly in Montreal, with a few days spent in Jordan. It premiered at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals in September 2010 and was released in Quebec on 17 September 2010. It met with critical acclaim in Canada and abroad and won numerous awards. In 2011, it was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Incendies also won eight Genie Awards, including Best Motion Picture.

Acadie is a provincial electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It is located in northern Montreal and consists of parts of the Saint-Laurent and Ahuntsic-Cartierville boroughs. It was created as L'Acadie for the 1973 election from parts of Ahuntsic and Saint-Laurent electoral districts. It changed to its present name in 1989.
