Fremont Central Park is a 450-acre (180 ha) park in the central area of Fremont, California on Paseo Padre Parkway at Stevenson Boulevard. It is easily accessible from I-880 and I-680. It began development in 1960, and contains Lake Elizabeth, a shallow 83-acre (34 ha) man made lake surrounded by picnic areas, sports fields, and walking and biking paths. The lake was dedicated to Fremont's sister city, Elizabeth, South Australia in 1969. A nine-hole golf course and driving range is northeast of the park, while a skateboarding park and water slide swimming facility are southwest. Much of the park was once the Stivers Lagoon and is part of the Laguna Creek Watershed.

The California School for the Deaf is a school for deaf children in Fremont, California. The school educates deaf children from all over Northern California. Its campus in Fremont is adjacent to the campus of the California School for the Blind. Its companion school in Southern California is CSD-Riverside.

Fremont is a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station in central Fremont, California, United States. The station is served by the Berryessa/North San José–Richmond and Berryessa/North San José–Daly City lines. It was the terminus of both lines from September 11, 1972, until March 25, 2017, when Warm Springs/South Fremont station opened.

Washington College, also called Washington College of Science and Industry, was a private coeducational secondary school established 1871 in the village of Washington Corners, which later (1884) became the town of Irvington, now (since 1956) part of the City of Fremont, California. Washington College opened in 1872 and was one of the first coeducational technical schools in California. In 1883 the college transitioned to a sectarian coeducational institution of higher education, under the auspices of the Disciples of Christ, and offered both preparatory and college-level courses until it closed in 1894. Washington College was succeeded in 1896 by a girls' school, the Curtner Seminary. After a fire in 1899, this was in turn succeeded in 1900 by a military school for boys, Anderson Academy, which operated until the outbreak of World War I.

Irvington is a planned Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) infill station in the Irvington District of Fremont, California. As of November 2022, estimates from the city anticipated construction to begin in 2024, with the station opening for service in 2031.

The Fremont Hub is a regional outdoor shopping center in Fremont, California, United States, in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is located on Mowry Avenue in the city's Central District. The shopping center is anchored by Target, and it also includes major retailers such as Bed Bath & Beyond, Party City, Marshalls, Ross Dress for Less, Safeway and Trader Joe's. The Fremont Hub was originally constructed in the early 1960's, and included then-major anchors Montgomery Ward among others. It was built around the existing residential property along Fremont Blvd. which became a popular Halloween attraction in later years. By 1968, Safeway had also anchored at the Hub, as well as a small movie theater called "Fox Theater". The Hub continued expansion into the 1970's with additional restaurants added along the perimeter of the property, such as Shelly's. In the 1980's, additional storefronts were added along the perimeter of the property again, and Safeway moved into a larger building on the NW corner of the property, with several other businesses moving in, such as daycare center Kidspark. Montgomery Ward remodeled in approximately 1982 in a national move to modernize their stores. The original Fox Theater was torn down in 1986 and in its place a much larger multiplex movie theater called "GCC Fremont Hub 8 Cinemas" opened. In 1999, the theater changed ownership and became Bollywood theater Naz 8 Cinemas, then closed in October 2004 after going out of business in 2003. The movie theater was demolished and a PetsMart was built in its place the following year. In approximately 2000, the larger Safeway complex received an additional remodel, closing Kidspark and converting the space into smaller tenants on the opposite side of the building, such as the UPS Store and a nail salon. In 1997, Montgomery Ward filed for bankruptcy, and in 2001, the major retailer shut its doors. After an extensive remodel, Target then opened its doors in its place the following year. The exterior of the mall featured several redesigns as well, happening most notably in the 1980s and 2000s.

Shinn (formerly, Shinn Station) is a former unincorporated community, now incorporated into Fremont in Alameda County, California. It lies at an elevation of 69 feet (21 m). The Shinn area is bounded approximately by Peralta Blvd to the south and Niles to the north and forms the northern part of the Parkmont district of Fremont. In the Shinn area is the Shinn Pond and the Shinn Historic Park and Arboretum, where the Shinn house still stands. The Shinn family ran a nursery, importing trees from throughout the Pacific Rim in the 1850s. This large Victorian Shinn house still reflects the family's humble Quaker origins and ambitious pursuits. The home's interior has high ceilings and is adorned with Victorian-era fixtures. But from the original brown wallpaper in the dining room to the shelves of books in the study, it is hardly ostentatious. Their lawn was essentially an advertisement for the nursery business. Today the arboretum includes several trees that range in age from 130 to 150 years old, including a Moreton Bay Fig from Australia, a Belota from Chile and a ginkgo from China.

Fremont is a city in Alameda County, California, United States. Located in the East Bay region of the Bay Area, Fremont has a population of 230,504 as of 2020, making it the fourth most populous city in the Bay Area, behind San Jose, San Francisco, and Oakland. It is the closest East Bay city to the high-tech Silicon Valley network of businesses, and has a strong tech industry presence.The city's origins lie in the community that arose around Mission San José, founded in 1797 by the Spanish under Padre Fermín Lasuén. Fremont was incorporated on January 23, 1956, when the former towns of Mission San José, Centerville, Niles, Irvington, and Warm Springs unified into one city. Fremont is named after John C. Frémont, a general who helped lead the American Conquest of California from Mexico and later served as Military Governor of California and then U.S. Senator.

The first Vallejo Flour Mill, in the Niles district of Fremont, California, was built in 1853 by José de Jesús Vallejo (1798–1882), elder brother of General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, on his Rancho Arroyo de la Alameda. The Flour Mill was located at the mouth of Niles Canyon, then called Alameda Cañon, which served as the major course of Alameda Creek. A second Flour Mill was built in 1856, the stone foundation of which may still be seen today. The ruins of the Vallejo Flour Mill is located at the northeast corner of Niles Canyon Road (State Route 84) and Mission Boulevard (State Route 238) in Vallejo Mill Historical Park. In 1932, it was designated a California Historical Landmark (#46). A watercolor painting of the 1856 Flour Mill, done by Carmelita Vallejo, J & J Vallejo's daughter then finishing her studies at the San Jose Notre Dame Academy, showed several buildings surrounding a three-story Flour Mill building with a large wooden wheel on the north side. According to the Alameda County Gazette (January 1857), the wheel was the overshot design, 30 feet in diameter and 8 feet broad, and the millstone was 4 feet in diameter. The Flour Mill cost $5,000 and had a capacity of 150 barrels of flour a day.: 12 

Mission San Jose High School (MSJHS or MSJ) is a four-year co-educational public high school founded in 1964. It is located in the Mission San Jose district of Fremont, California, United States. It is one of five comprehensive high schools in the Fremont Unified School District. Mission San Jose High School is the third largest high school in Fremont.
