Vallée de l'Ernz

Ermsdorf (Luxembourgish: Iermsdref) is a village and former commune in eastern Luxembourg. It is part of the canton of Diekirch, which is part of the district of Diekirch. As of 2005, the village of Ermsdorf, which lies in the south of the commune, has a population of 221. Since 2011, Ermsdorf has merged with Medernach to become the "Aerenzdallgemeng" (commune Vallée de l'Ernz, Ernztalgemeinde)

Medernach (Luxembourgish: Miedernach) is a town and commune in eastern Luxembourg. It is part of the canton of Diekirch, which is part of the district of Diekirch. Since 2011, Medernach has merged with Ermsdorf to become the "Aerenzdallgemeng" (commune Vallée de l'Ernz, Ernztalgemeinde).

Diekirch is a canton in the north of Luxembourg. Its capital is Diekirch. Neither the canton, town, nor commune of Diekirch should be confused with the former district of Diekirch, one of three administrative units in Luxembourg abolished in October 2015.

Larochette Castle (Luxembourgish: Buerg Fiels, German: Burg Fels, French: Château de Larochette) stands high above the town of Larochette in central Luxembourg. Dating from the 11th century, the castle was destroyed by fire at the end of the 16th century. Since its acquisition by the State of Luxembourg in 1979, some restoration work has been undertaken.

Larochette (French pronunciation: [laʁɔʃɛt]; Luxembourgish: Fiels, German: Fels) is a commune and town in central Luxembourg, in the canton of Mersch. It is situated on the White Ernz river. The town is dominated by the partly ruined Larochette Castle. The town of Larochette lies in the north-east of the commune. Other towns within the commune include Ernzen. Meysembourg Castle, located some 2 kilometres (1+1⁄4 mi) south-west of Larochette, has a history dating back to the 12th century. Today's castle was built in 1880 in Neo-Renaissance style and is privately owned.

Eppeldorf (Luxembourgish: Eppelduerf) is a village in the commune of Ärenzdallgemeng, in eastern Luxembourg between Bettendorf and Beaufort. As of 2005, the village has a population of 176.

The White Ernz (Luxembourgish: Wäiss Iernz, French: Ernz blanche, German: Weiße Ernz) is a river flowing through Luxembourg, joining the Sauer at Reisdorf. It flows through the towns of Larochette, Medernach and Ermsdorf. The river valley also includes the notable feature of having a twin castle from the 14th century named Larochette Castle.

Moestroff (Luxembourgish: Méischtref) is a small town in the commune of Bettendorf, in north-eastern Luxembourg. As of 2005, the town has a population of 405.

Nommern (Luxembourgish: Noumer) is a commune and small town in central Luxembourg, in the canton of Mersch. As of 2005, the town of Nommern, which lies in the east of the commune, has a population of 262. Other towns within the commune include Cruchten and Schrondweiler.

Christnach (Luxembourgish: Chrëschtnech) is a small town in the commune of Waldbillig, in eastern Luxembourg. As of 2005, the town has a population of 381. The town contains a golf course named Golf Christnach, which includes an 18-hole and 9-hole course, along with 2 hiking trails ejecting from the golf course named Nordic Walking Park Mëllerdall 2 and 3. As tourist highlights, Nordic Walking Park Mëllerdall 2 is 10.2 kilometers (6.3 miles) long and contains the "model" village of Christnach. Nordic Walking Park Mëllerdall 3 is 11 kilometers (6.8 miles) long and contains the birthplace of Michel Rodange.

Gilsdorf (Luxembourgish: Gilsdref) is a small town in the commune of Bettendorf, in north-eastern Luxembourg. As of 2005, the town has a population of 864. It is the town in which Prince Louis of Luxembourg married. While it was an unusual choice of venue for the wedding of a Prince of the ruling Grand Ducal family, it is supposed that its relative isolation from the City of Luxembourg proved to be a favourable factor. While the approach to media and publicity matters by the Grand Ducal family since the accession of Henri of Luxembourg in 2000 has varied markedly, it has been assumed that the presumed desire of the Grand Ducal family to avoid publicity, as far as possible, was a significant reason for the choice of Gilsdorf for the wedding.

Meysembourg Castle (Luxembourgish: Schlass Meesebuerg; French: Château de Meysembourg) is located some 2 km south-west of Larochette in central Luxembourg. While the site has a history dating back to the 12th century, today's castle was built in 1880 in Neo-Renaissance style and is privately owned.
