Ocean Rain is the fourth studio album by the English post-punk band Echo & the Bunnymen. It was released on 4 May 1984 by Korova and reached number four on the UK Albums Chart, number 87 on the United States Billboard 200, number 41 on the Canadian RPM 100 Albums and number 22 on the Swedish chart. Since 1984 the album has been certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry. Ocean Rain includes the singles "The Killing Moon", "Silver" and "Seven Seas". The band wrote the songs for the new album in 1983. In early 1984 they recorded most of the album in Paris using a 35-piece orchestra, with other sessions taking place in Bath and Liverpool. Receiving mixed reviews the album was originally released as an LP and a cassette in May 1984 before it was reissued on CD in August. The album was reissued on CD in 2003, along with the other four of the band's first five studio albums, having been remastered and expanded before again being reissued in 2008 with a live bonus disc. The artwork for the album was designed by Martyn Atkins and the photography was by Brian Griffin. Echo & the Bunnymen played a number of concerts in 2008 where they performed Ocean Rain in full and with the backing of an orchestra.

Carnglaze Caverns consists of three man-made caverns formed as part of a slate quarry in the Loveny Valley, near the village of St Neot, Liskeard, Cornwall, England, UK. The first of the caverns, the Rum Store, is so called because it was used by the Royal Navy during the Second World War to store its supply of rum. In 2001 it was converted into an auditorium with seating for 400. The lowest of the three caverns has a lake, which was where the cover image for Echo & the Bunnymen's LP Ocean Rain was shot. The caverns have been used as an unusual concert venue, with performances from folk-rock artists such as Fish and Fairport Convention, as well as bands such as Embrace (in 2004), and British Sea Power (in 2005 and 2007). The site has also hosted craft and mineral shows.

Doublebois (Cornish: Dewgoes) (pronounced DUB-əl-boyz), is a village in south Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is in the civil parish of Dobwalls approximately three miles (5 km) west of Liskeard. Doublebois formerly had a railway station on the Cornish Main Line which closed on 5 October 1964. Today the main transport link is the adjacent A38 Plymouth to Bodmin trunk road.

Middle Taphouse (or Mid Taphouse) is a hamlet in east Cornwall, England, about five miles (8.0 km) west of Liskeard along the A390 road. It consists of a small group of bungalows and houses. Hillball Wood is immediately east of the hamlet, and further woodland lies to the north. The hamlet of West Taphouse is a little further west along the A390 and the small village of East Taphouse is further east. The Western Greyhound 575 bus service between St Neot and Liskeard stops at Middle Taphouse.

Largin Castle is a contour hillfort and scheduled monument in Cornwall, England, presumed to date from the Iron Age. Largin Castle is situated approximately 4.5 kilometres (2.8 mi) west of Dobwalls, on a hill spur above the north-facing southern slope of the Fowey valley, at an elevation of 130 meters (430 ft) above sea level. It is described in the Atlas of Hillforts of Britain and Ireland as having a complex shape occupying an area of 1.8 hectares (4.4 acres). The hillfort has an outer rampart and ditch enclosure with an entrance at its south. Within this, a smaller inner oval enclosure, also defined by ramparts and ditch, is offset to the north and occupies some 3/4 of the interior. To the north and east of the hillfort, the valley drops away steeply to the Fowey and to a tributary stream, both at circa 50 meters (160 ft) elevation; to the south-west the land rises slowly to a local maximum of 193 meters (633 ft) at a distance of 690 meters (2,260 ft). A linear earthwork thought to be associated with the hillfort is found at the south-west, at the 190 meters (620 ft) contour, running for approximately 850 meters (2,790 ft) first due north, and then north-north-west. The castle enclosure is overgrown by an ancient oak woodland; coniferous planting surrounds the site. The Atlas of Hillforts specifies the condition of the site as good. Largin Castle was listed as a Scheduled Monument in June 2020.

St Neot ( NEE-uut) (Cornish: Loveni) is a village and civil parish in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The parish population at the 2011 census was 947. It is between the towns of Bodmin and Liskeard. The parish is named after the Saxon monk, Saint Neot (who also gives his name to St Neots in Cambridgeshire, to where his alleged bones were taken in the early Middle Ages), and means "pleasant (or beautiful) pasture (or habitation)" in Hebrew. On the northern side the parish includes part of Bodmin Moor and hamlets in the parish include Draynes, Ley and Pantersbridge.

Other settlements in the parish include East Taphouse, and Penfrane, containing 421 inhabitants. The parish church, dedicated to St Pynnochus (Winnoc), is located at OS Grid Ref SX200630. To the north, the parish is bordered by St Cleer and St Neot parishes, to the east by Dobwalls and Trewidland parish, to the south by Lanreath and Duloe parishes and to the west by Braddock parish. In 1851 the parish of Herodsfoot was created from parts of St Pinnock, Lanreath and Duloe parishes. The parish of St Pinnock has always been in the Liskeard Registration District. The A390 road runs through the north of the parish. Dobwalls Adventure Park was a family-run visitor attraction in the village of Dobwalls, near Liskeard, Cornwall. Founded in 1970 by John Southern, the park was one of Cornwall's top visitor attractions, consisting of two miniature railway networks complemented by large play areas and recreational grounds, both indoors and outdoors, an award-winning art gallery and woodland walks. The park closed at the end of the 2006 season for redevelopment work, but in June 2007 it was announced that it would not reopen in its original form as an adventure park. The redevelopment projects stalled, with the John Southern Gallery and new camping site closing. The administrators were called in and the site, complete with many of the original buildings and landscapes still in existence were put up for sale by sealed bid auction.
