Ocean Rain is the fourth studio album by the English post-punk band Echo & the Bunnymen. It was released on 4 May 1984 by Korova and reached number four on the UK Albums Chart, number 87 on the United States Billboard 200, number 41 on the Canadian RPM 100 Albums and number 22 on the Swedish chart. Since 1984 the album has been certified gold by the British Phonographic Industry. Ocean Rain includes the singles "The Killing Moon", "Silver" and "Seven Seas". The band wrote the songs for the new album in 1983. In early 1984 they recorded most of the album in Paris using a 35-piece orchestra, with other sessions taking place in Bath and Liverpool. Receiving mixed reviews the album was originally released as an LP and a cassette in May 1984 before it was reissued on CD in August. The album was reissued on CD in 2003, along with the other four of the band's first five studio albums, having been remastered and expanded before again being reissued in 2008 with a live bonus disc. The artwork for the album was designed by Martyn Atkins and the photography was by Brian Griffin. Echo & the Bunnymen played a number of concerts in 2008 where they performed Ocean Rain in full and with the backing of an orchestra.

Carnglaze Caverns consists of three man-made caverns formed as part of a slate quarry in the Loveny Valley, near the village of St Neot, Liskeard, Cornwall, England, UK. The first of the caverns, the Rum Store, is so called because it was used by the Royal Navy during the Second World War to store its supply of rum. In 2001 it was converted into an auditorium with seating for 400. The lowest of the three caverns has a lake, which was where the cover image for Echo & the Bunnymen's LP Ocean Rain was shot. The caverns have been used as an unusual concert venue, with performances from folk-rock artists such as Fish and Fairport Convention, as well as bands such as Embrace (in 2004), and British Sea Power (in 2005 and 2007). The site has also hosted craft and mineral shows.

Treverbyn Vean is a 19th-century mansion in St Neot, Cornwall. Its exterior was designed by George Gilbert Scott and its interior by William Burges, two of the major architects of the Gothic Revival. The house is a Grade II* listed building. It remains a private home, although various outbuildings may be rented.

Doublebois (Cornish: Dewgoes) (pronounced DUB-əl-boyz), is a village in south Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is in the civil parish of Dobwalls approximately three miles (5 km) west of Liskeard. Doublebois formerly had a railway station on the Cornish Main Line which closed on 5 October 1964. Today the main transport link is the adjacent A38 Plymouth to Bodmin trunk road.

Higher Trengale and Lower Trengale are two farming hamlets in the parish of St Cleer, Cornwall, England. It is located to the northwest of Liskeard. They are located between Dobwalls (to the south) and Draynes (to the north). The principal river in the area is the River Fowey, which flows to the north on the other side of Trengale Wood. Trengale is mentioned in Domesday Book. It documents a Richard holding Trengale, also referred to a Turgoil, from Saint Petroc in 1086. St Neot Lower Trengale Farm Holiday Cottages are rented out year round.

Trenant is a hamlet in the civil parish of St Neot. There was formerly a Bible Christian chapel in Trenant. There are also places called Trenant in the parishes of Egloshayle (near Wadebridge) and Fowey.

Largin Castle is a contour hillfort and scheduled monument in Cornwall, England, presumed to date from the Iron Age. Largin Castle is situated approximately 4.5 kilometres (2.8 mi) west of Dobwalls, on a hill spur above the north-facing southern slope of the Fowey valley, at an elevation of 130 meters (430 ft) above sea level. It is described in the Atlas of Hillforts of Britain and Ireland as having a complex shape occupying an area of 1.8 hectares (4.4 acres). The hillfort has an outer rampart and ditch enclosure with an entrance at its south. Within this, a smaller inner oval enclosure, also defined by ramparts and ditch, is offset to the north and occupies some 3/4 of the interior. To the north and east of the hillfort, the valley drops away steeply to the Fowey and to a tributary stream, both at circa 50 meters (160 ft) elevation; to the south-west the land rises slowly to a local maximum of 193 meters (633 ft) at a distance of 690 meters (2,260 ft). A linear earthwork thought to be associated with the hillfort is found at the south-west, at the 190 meters (620 ft) contour, running for approximately 850 meters (2,790 ft) first due north, and then north-north-west. The castle enclosure is overgrown by an ancient oak woodland; coniferous planting surrounds the site. The Atlas of Hillforts specifies the condition of the site as good. Largin Castle was listed as a Scheduled Monument in June 2020.

Pantersbridge (Cornish: Pons Yesu, meaning Jesus Bridge)is a hamlet in the parish of St Neot, Cornwall, England, UK. It is about one mile south of Warleggan on the road from St Neot to Cardinham and on the River Warleggan. Early spellings of the name include Pontyesu in 1241 and Ponteisu, circa 1250, Pontewysy in 1359, becoming Pontwise Bridge, or Pontowise bridge by 1613.

East Taphouse (Cornish: Diwotti Est) is a village in Cornwall, England, in the civil parish of St Pinnock, one mile (1.6 km) west of Doublebois on the A390 Liskeard to St Austell road. A little further west are the hamlets of Middle Taphouse and West Taphouse.

Warleggan or Warleggon (Cornish: Gorlegan) is a hamlet and civil parish on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor in Cornwall, England. The parish is roughly oblong in shape and includes the hamlet of Mount, southwest of Warleggan hamlet. The River Warleggan, a tributary of the River Fowey, runs through the parish, forming its western boundary in places. The population was 203 in the 2001 census, and had increased to 208 at the 2011 census. The population in 1801 was 116. A road was built in 1953 linking Warleggan to the A38; until then it had been regarded as one of the most remote areas of Cornwall.

Middle Taphouse (or Mid Taphouse) is a hamlet in east Cornwall, England, about five miles (8.0 km) west of Liskeard along the A390 road. It consists of a small group of bungalows and houses. Hillball Wood is immediately east of the hamlet, and further woodland lies to the north. The hamlet of West Taphouse is a little further west along the A390 and the small village of East Taphouse is further east. The Western Greyhound 575 bus service between St Neot and Liskeard stops at Middle Taphouse.
