Llwyngwril

Llwyngwril railway station serves the village of Llwyngwril in Gwynedd, Wales. The station is an unstaffed halt on the Cambrian Coast Railway with passenger services to Barmouth, Harlech, Porthmadog, Pwllheli, Tywyn, Aberdovey, Machynlleth and Shrewsbury. Trains stop on request. The former station building is now a private dwelling. Llwyngwril was once a two platformed station with a passing loop and a water crane. Between Llwyngwril station and Fairbourne station is Friog cliff, which has views out to sea.In 2016, The Welsh Government funded the installation of reinforced glass fibre 'humps' on the platforms to improve access for wheelchair and pushchair users onto and off trains.

The A493 is a road located on the west coast of mid Wales and connects Dolgellau to Machynlleth via the coast, avoiding Corris and Cross Foxes.

Llangelynnin (; also Llangelynin) is a small village and community near Tywyn, Gwynedd, Wales. Although the village is usually known as Llangelynnin in English, the community name used was Llangelynin though now its also "Llangelynnin".

Llangelynin station was a single-platform halt on the Cambrian Line, which served the small village of Llangelynin in Gwynedd, Wales. It was opened in 1930 by the Great Western Railway and was known as Llangelynin Halt. It was closed by British Rail in 1991; all stations had to be lit at night on safety grounds and it was deemed not worth the upgrade. Train services were officially "suspend[ed] ... until further notice" with effect from 18 November 1991; the "unsafe condition of the platform" was given as the reason. The line is still open, but trains no longer call at the station.

Llanegryn is a village and a community in Gwynedd, north-west Wales. It was formerly part of the historic county of Merionethshire (Welsh: Meirionnydd, Sir Feirionnydd). Travelling by road, it is around 4 miles (6 km) north-east of Tywyn and 17 miles (27 km) south-west of Dolgellau. Llanegryn is named for St Egryn, with llan meaning church or parish – a common feature in Welsh place names. The village lies in the Dysynni Valley (Dyffryn Dysynni).

Llanfendigaid Estate, located on the Cardigan Bay coast of southern Gwynedd (formerly Merioneth: Welsh: Meirionnydd, Sir Feirionydd), near Tywyn in north Wales is a mid-Georgian house that has belonged to the same family for over 600 years. Llanfendigaid is listed Grade II* by Cadw which is only given to houses of exceptional historic interest. The estate once encompassed over 16,000 acres (65 km2), is now reduced to 16 acres (0.065 km2) within the Snowdonia National Park.

The Afon Fathew (English: River Mathew/Fathew) is a river in Gwynedd, north-west Wales. The river is downstream from the Dolgoch Falls which is a popular nature site, and is followed for much of its course by the Talyllyn Railway.

Bryncrug (), sometimes spelt Bryn-crug, is a village and community in Gwynedd, Wales. Afon Fathew flows through the village and into the River Dysynni. The village is situated to the north east of the town of Tywyn, at the junction of the A493 and B4405 roads. Although the village is usually spelt Bryncrug in English, the community name uses the Welsh language version, Bryn-crug. The population of the community taken at the 2011 census was 622.To the south west of the village stood Ynysymaengwyn, a mansion built in 1758 but now demolished. To the south stood Cynfal motte-and-bailey castle, built in 1137 by Cadwaladr ap Gruffydd, brother of Owain Gwynedd.The poet David Richards (1751-1827), bardic name Dafydd Ionawr, was born at Glanyrafon near Bryncrug. Mary Jones, famous for walking to Bala at the age of sixteen to buy a Bible, lived in the village when older, and was buried in the village after her death in 1864.The football club, Tywyn & Bryncrug FC (Welsh language: Clwb Pêl-droed Tywyn a Bryncrug), play their home matches in the village.

Broad Water, or Broadwater (Welsh: Aber Dysynni) is a salt water lagoon near Tywyn, Wales formed from the silted up estuary of the River Dysynni. In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the estuary was used by the shipbuilding industry, as small sailing ships were launched to carry peat from the local peat bogs. This industry was abandoned in the nineteenth century when the estuary became too silted up, forming the lagoon. The outflow of the lagoon flows beneath a railway bridge before entering Cardigan Bay. The area is a haven for many wetland birds, and has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Tonfanau railway station is a railway stop that serves Tonfanau in Gwynedd, Wales. The station is located alongside the ruins of the army base it once served and only a couple of occupied buildings can be found within the surrounding area.
