The Maria Pia Bridge (in Portuguese Ponte de D. Maria Pia, commonly known as Ponte de Dona Maria Pia) is a railway bridge built in 1877, and attributed to Gustave Eiffel, situated over the Portuguese northern municipalities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. Part of the Linha Norte system of the national railway, the wrought iron, double-hinged, crescent arch spans 353 m (1,158 ft), 60 m (200 ft) over the Douro River. At the time of its construction, it was the longest single-arch span in the world; today, it is no longer used for rail transport and was replaced by a modern structure in 1991. It is often confused with the D. Luís Bridge, which was built nine years later and is located 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) to the west, but resembles the structure, albeit with two decks.

The Infante Dom Henrique Bridge (Portuguese: Ponte Infante Dom Henrique), commonly known as Infante Bridge (Portuguese: Ponte do Infante), is a road bridge across the Douro River in Greater Porto, Portugal. The bridge is upriver from the Dom Luís I Bridge and downriver from the Maria Pia Bridge. Completed in 2003, the Infante Bridge carries vehicle and pedestrian traffic from Vila Nova de Gaia to Central Porto. The bridge was constructed as a replacement for the upper deck of the Dom Luís I Bridge that was closed to vehicle traffic in 2003 to allow for its conversion to the D Line of the Porto Metro.The bridge has a total length of 371 metres (1,217 ft) and an arch span of 280 metres (920 ft). The bridge's height is 75 m (246 ft) above the Douro River, but the height of the arch is only 25 m (82 ft) above its foundations in the riverside cliffs. Inspired by the alpine Maillart bridges, the Infante Bridge's arch is one of the shallowest in the world as a ratio of rise from base over length.

Together with these locations, the monastery was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. The monastery is notable for its church and cloister, both of which are circular.

In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Cedofeita, Santo Ildefonso, Sé, Miragaia, São Nicolau e Vitória. The population in 2011 was 3,460, in an area of 0.49 km².Sé is one of the four districts within the UNESCO World Heritage Classified Zone of Porto, the others being São Nicolau, Vitória, and Miragaia. Local landmarks include Porto Cathedral (which gave the name to the parish), Church of Santa Clara, several chapels and episcopal buildings. It is also the location of the major São Bento train station.
