Wanstead Flats

The A114 road is a road in east London, England. It runs from Whipps Cross University Hospital to Plaistow, passing Wanstead, Forest Gate and Upton.

Wanstead Park is a railway station in Forest Gate, London. It is on the Gospel Oak to Barking line in Zone 3, 11 miles 11 chains (17.9 km) down the line from Gospel Oak and situated between Leytonstone High Road and Woodgrange Park. It is operated by London Overground. Despite its name, Wanstead Park Station is not situated in Wanstead but in Forest Gate – and it is not near Wanstead Park but Wanstead Flats. The station was opened 9 July 1894. The station is 360 yards (330 m) from Forest Gate station, according to TfL's journey planner, and this interchange is suggested in the National Rail Timetable.

St Gabriel's Church is a Church of England parish church in the Aldersbrook estate area of Wanstead in the London Borough of Redbridge, dedicated to the archangel Gabriel. It began in 1903 as an iron building before a permanent brick church by Charles Spooner in the Perpendicular iteration of the neo-Gothic style was completed in 1914, the same year as St Gabriel's was granted its own parish, taking areas from the parishes of St Mary the Virgin, Wanstead, and St Mary's Church, Little Ilford.

Forest Gate is a district in the London Borough of Newham, East London, England. It is located 7 miles (11 km) northeast of Charing Cross. The area's name relates to its position adjacent to Wanstead Flats, the southernmost part of Epping Forest. The town was historically part of the parish (and later borough) of West Ham in the hundred of Becontree in Essex. Since 1965, Forest Gate has been part of the London Borough of Newham, a local government district of Greater London. The town forms the majority of the London E7 postcode district. Neighbouring areas include Leytonstone to the north, East Ham to the east, Plaistow to the south and Stratford to the west.

Aldersbrook Baptist Church is a Baptist church in the Aldersbrook area of Wanstead in the London Borough of Redbridge. It was formally constituted in 1906, though it had its origins in an 1898 non-denominational mission and a hall on Dover Road in 1902. Its present church building was built beside the hall in 1909, with membership peaking at around 100 people during the 1930s. It was completely rebuilt following bombing in World War II.

Aldersbrook (also known as Aldersbrook Estate), is an Edwardian housing estate in Wanstead, East London. It is named after the medieval Manor of Aldersbrook the manor itself was named after the Alders Brook, a minor river which marks part of the boundary between the London Boroughs of Newham and Redbridge. The area and the estate now wholly fall within the London Borough of Redbridge, though historically Aldersbrook Manor has always fallen inside the parish of Little Ilford, which is in turn part of what is now the London Borough of Newham. The 2010 Mike Leigh film Another Year used the area for locations.

St Saviour's Church is a Church of England church in Forest Gate, east London. It was opened by Emmanuel Church, Forest Gate as a mission hall in 1880, with a separate parish (split off from that of Emmanuel) and a permanent church following three years later. Its first vicar was Henderson Burnside, one of the first Anglican missionaries in Japan. It opened a mission at "365 Railway Arches" in 1903. Its parish is now known as 'St Saviour's and St James's, Forest Gate' after the area formerly forming the parish of St James' Church, Forest Gate was transferred to it in 2014 - the congregation from St James', however, transferred to St Paul's Church, Stratford, also in 2014.

Forest Gate railway station is on the Great Eastern Main Line serving Forest Gate in the London Borough of Newham, east London. It is 5 miles 21 chains (8.5 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street and is situated between Maryland and Manor Park. Its three-letter station code is FOG and it is in fare zone 3. The station was opened in 1840 by the Eastern Counties Railway. It is currently managed by Transport for London and is on the Elizabeth line between Shenfield and London Paddington.

Forest Gate Community School is a coeducational secondary school in the London Borough of Newham, rated Outstanding by Ofsted in February 2020 for the second time. It was first rated Outstanding in 2016. The school was extended from eight forms of entry to ten – rising to a total of 1,350 pupils – starting with the Year 7 admission in September 2019 to meet demand from local parents attributed to the school’s much-improved reputation. The school was ranked in the top 50 in the country for progress in GCSE results in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. In 2017, disadvantaged students made progress over 1 grade higher than the national average, source Department for Education. The school was ranked 33rd in the country for progress scores for disadvantaged students in 2019. The school has the best progress 8 for Newham for secondary students for 2018 and 2019. In 2020, the school was named School of the Year by World Class Schools.

The Aldersbrook Estate is the name given to an Edwardian housing estate in Aldersbrook, Wanstead, in the London Borough of Redbridge. The built-up area is surrounded on all sides by open space and parkland, including Wanstead Park, Wanstead Flats, Bush Wood and the City of London Cemetery and Crematorium. There are no public houses, except the bar of the Courtney Hotel, which is at the extreme south-eastern corner of the estate, something that may reflect the generally pro-temperance Edwardian era in which the estate was laid out, or was perhaps due to restrictive covenant. There is also a bowls club that has a small bar in it, located on Aldersbrook road. There is a school, Aldersbrook Primary School, a library on Park Road and two churches, the Anglican St Gabriel's and Aldersbrook Baptist Church. There is a short strip of shops on Aldersbrook Road, in the south-eastern corner of the estate, a convenience store in the western end of the estate, behind the Anglican church, and a launderette and another convenience store at the eastern side of the estate.

The A116 road is a road in England connecting Manor Park, London and Wanstead.

Woodgrange Baptist Church is a Baptist church on the Romford Road in Forest Gate, east London. It was built in 1882, with a hall added in 1899. It was damaged during the London Blitz but was repaired.
