Hanbury is a rural village and civil parish 3.3 miles (5.3 km) west-north-west of Burton-on-Trent in Staffordshire, England. It is bounded to the north by the River Dove.

The Scropton Tramway was a British industrial 3 ft (914 mm) narrow gauge railway connecting several gypsum mines with the North Staffordshire Railway station at Scropton in Staffordshire. It was also used to transport munitions during World War II.

Scropton railway station was a short-lived railway station in Derbyshire, England. The railway line between Uttoxeter and Burton-on-Trent was opened by the North Staffordshire Railway (NSR) in 1848 and a station to serve the village of Scropton was opened at about the same time (the actual date is imprecise but the station was mentioned in timetables issued in 1849–50).The station remained open only for a short time before being closed at the beginning of 1866. After closure the station site was used for exchange sidings between the narrow gauge Scropton Tramway and the NSR.

Foston and Scropton is a civil parish in the Dove valley in South Derbyshire. It includes the village of Scropton and hamlet of Foston. The population of the civil parish at the 2001 Census was 728 increasing to 854 at the 2011 Census.The Domesday book records that in 1086 Henry de Ferrers held a manor here.The Church of England parish church of Saint Paul, Scropton contains late 15th and early 16th century monuments. However, the church was rebuilt in 1855–56 under the direction of the Gothic Revival architect Benjamin Ferrey. The village of Scropton has no shop or pub but it does have a large house called the old school house.

Anslow Gate is a village in Staffordshire, England, situated to the west of Anslow on the road to Hanbury. According to the 2001 census, the parish of Anslow, which includes Anslow Gate, had a population of 669, increasing to 805 at the 2011 census. Foston is a hamlet in the Foston and Scropton civil parish of South Derbyshire, Derbyshire, England, about 12 miles (19 km) west of Derby and 8 miles (13 km) east of Uttoxeter. The Domesday Book of 1086 lists it as Farulveston.

Draycott in the Clay is a village and civil parish within the English county of Staffordshire.

Sudbury railway station was a railway station serving Sudbury, Derbyshire although the station was located in Staffordshire, near to Draycott in the Clay. The station was opened by the North Staffordshire Railway in 1848 and in 1862 it was also served by Great Northern Railway on the route between Stafford and Grantham. The platforms today have been removed but the railway cottages and signal box are still in use, Trains on the Crewe to Derby Line still pass through the former station.

Aston is a hamlet in the civil parish of Sudbury in the district of Derbyshire Dales, Derbyshire, England. It lies at the junction of the A50 and A515 roads. Aston was mentioned in the Domesday Book as Estun.Aston Bridge carries the A515 road across the River Dove to Staffordshire. It is a Grade II listed building.

Tutbury Castle is a largely ruined medieval castle at Tutbury, Staffordshire, England, in the ownership of the Duchy of Lancaster and hence currently of King Charles III. It is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. People who have stayed in the castle include Eleanor of Aquitaine and Mary, Queen of Scots, who was a prisoner there.
