The Llandoger Trow is a historic public house in Bristol, south-west England. Dating from 1664, it is on King Street, between Welsh Back and Queen Charlotte Street, near the old city centre docks. Named by a sailor who owned the pub after Llandogo in Wales which built trows (flat-bottomed river boats), the building was damaged in World War II, but remained in sufficiently good condition to be designated Grade II* listed building status in 1959. The pub is said to have inspired Robert Louis Stevenson to write of the Admiral Benbow Inn in Treasure Island and Daniel Defoe supposedly met Alexander Selkirk there, his inspiration for Robinson Crusoe. The pub is also supposedly haunted, with up to 15 ghosts, the best known being a small child whose footsteps can be heard on the top floor. On 20 April 2019 the pub was closed, but has now re-opened as part of the Bloomsbury Leisure group.

6 King Street is an historic house situated on King Street in Bristol, England. It dates from 1665, but the present early Georgian frontage dates from about 1720. It is thought that the original roof had gables, similar to those seen on the neighbouring 7 and 8, which were cut back to form the hips seen today. The interior retains many eighteenth century features.It has been designated by English Heritage as a grade II* listed building.

7 and 8 King Street are a pair of historic houses situated on King Street in Bristol, England. They date from 1665. During restoration in 1976 it was found that recycled ships timbers had been used for much of the oak studding and bracing in the buildings, and barrel staves had been used as laths. The oriel window of number 7 is an original feature, whilst the windows of number 8 were replaced during the eighteenth century.7 and 8 King Street have been designated by English Heritage as a grade II* listed building.

The Granary, also known as Wait and James' Granary, is a building on Welsh Back in the English city of Bristol. It was designed by Archibald Ponton and William Venn Gough in red Cattybrook brick, with black and white brick and limestone dressings. It is probably the best preserved example of the Bristol Byzantine style and is designated by English Heritage as a grade II* listed building.The building was built in 1869 as a granary for Wait, James and Co. It was used to dry large quantities of grain, so it had to be strong, stable and warm, with good ventilation. Between 1968 and 1988, it housed a nightclub, also known as The Granary. In 2002, the building was converted into apartments, after the owners, Bristol City Council, had invited competitive bids from developers for its renovation and conversion. Barton Willmore produced the designs which supported the winning bid.

Welsh Back is a wharf and street alongside the floating harbour in the centre of the city of Bristol, England. The wharf and street extend some 450 metres (1,480 ft) along the west side of the harbour between Bristol Bridge and Redcliffe Bridge. At the northern (Bristol Bridge) end, the street and wharf are immediately adjacent, but to the south they are separated by a range of single story transit sheds. The wharf is a grade II listed structure and takes its name because it was freqented by vessels from Welsh ports.The Welsh Back has been an important quay since the 13th century, when it was located on the tidal course of the River Avon. In 1475, the merchant and benefactor Alice Chestre is recorded as having given a crane for use at the Welsh Back, this being the first evidence of a crane in the port of Bristol. The quayside was extended in 1724, and in 1809 the floating harbour was created by impounding the former river channel, meaning that boats could stay afloat at all states of the tide when alongside the quay. Today the Welsh Back is mostly the site of bars and restaurants, situated either in the buildings on the landward side of the street, or in boats moored alongside the quay. The buildings on the landward side of the Welsh Back include the Granary, an imposing building in the Bristol Byzantine style. Just inland from the intersection of King Street and the Welsh Back is the historic Llandoger Trow public house, said to have inspired Robert Louis Stevenson in writing Treasure Island. Towards the northern end of Welsh Back is the so-called ‘bomb hole’, part of the quayside that was damaged by bombing during the Second World War and retained as a memorial. Alongside this is the Merchant Seamen’s memorial, commemorating those who lost their lives sailing from Bristol.

Bristol Old Vic is a British theatre company based at the Theatre Royal, Bristol. The present company was established in 1946 as an offshoot of the Old Vic in London. It is associated with the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, which became a financially independent organisation in the 1990s. Bristol Old Vic runs a Young Company for those aged 7–25.The Theatre Royal, the oldest continually-operating theatre in the English-speaking world, was built between 1764 and 1766 on King Street in Bristol. The Coopers' Hall, built 1743–44, was incorporated as the theatre's foyer during 1970–72. Together, they are designated a Grade I listed building by Historic England. Daniel Day-Lewis called it "the most beautiful theatre in England."In 2012, the theatre complex completed the first phase of a £19 million refurbishment, increasing the seating capacity and providing up to ten flexible performance spaces. Besides the main Theatre Royal auditorium, the complex includes the Studio theatre and the Side Stage, Paint Shop and Basement performance areas. Whilst the theatre was closed, the company continued to present work in the Studio and Basement spaces, as well as at other sites around Bristol. The Theatre Royal re-opened in 2012 with Wild Oats.

The street lies just south of the old town wall and was laid out in 1650 to develop the Town Marsh, the area then lying between the south or Marsh Wall and the Avon. The north side was developed first and the south side in 1663, when the street was named after Charles II. The section of the city wall is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

St Nicholas is a church in St Nicholas Street, Bristol, England. The church was bombed in the Second World War and rebuilt in 1974–1975 as a church museum. This museum closed in 2007 and the building was used by the city council as offices; in 2018 the church came back into use as an Anglican place of worship in the Diocese of Bristol.
