The Consulate General of the United States, Munich represents the interests of the United States government in Bavaria, Germany. Headed by the Consul General, the Consulate provides services to Americans in Bavaria and fostering Bavarian-American relations. The Consulate includes departments devoted to US Foreign Commercial Services, Political, Economic and Environmental Affairs, Public Affairs, Consular Services, and Administrative Affairs. It is the third-largest U.S. diplomatic post in Germany, following Berlin and Frankfurt.

Munich Digitization Center (German Das Münchener Digitalisierungszentrum (MDZ)) is an institution dedicated to digitization, Online publication and the long-term archival preservation of the holdings of the Bavarian State Library and other cultural heritage institutions. It was founded in 1997 under the leadership of Mark Brantl. It operates as a unit of the Bavarian State Library.

The Catholic Parish and University Church St. Louis, called Ludwigskirche, in Munich is a monumental church in neo-romanesque style with the second-largest altar fresco of the world. The building, with its round arches called the Rundbogenstil, strongly influenced other church architecture, train stations and synagogues in both Germany and the United States.

The Bavarian State Library (German: Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, abbreviated BSB, called Bibliotheca Regia Monacensis before 1919) in Munich is the central "Landesbibliothek", i. e. the state library of the Free State of Bavaria, the biggest universal and research library in Germany and one of Europe's most important universal libraries. With its collections currently comprising around 10.89 million books (as of 2019), it ranks among the best research libraries worldwide. Moreover, its historical stock encompasses one of the most important manuscript collections of the world, the largest collection of incunabula worldwide, as well as numerous further important special collections. Its collection of historical prints before 1850 number almost one million units.The legal deposit law has been in force since 1663, regulating that two copies of every printed work published in Bavaria have to be submitted to the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek. This law is still applicable today. The Bayerische Staatsbibliothek furthermore is Europe's second-largest journals library (after the British Library). The BSB publishes the specialist journal Bibliotheksforum Bayern and has been publishing the Bibliotheksmagazin together with the Berlin State Library since 2007. Its building is situated in the Ludwigstrasse.

The Ducal Georgianum (German: Herzogliches Georgianum) is a theological seminary of the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in Germany. It was founded in 1494. Pope Benedict XVI studied at the Seminary until 1951.

The Prinz Carl Palais in Munich is a mansion built in the style of early Neoclassicism in 1804–1806. It was also known as the Palais Salabert and the Palais Royal, after its former owners. The Prinz-Carl-Palais was planned in 1803 by the young architect Karl von Fischer for Abbé Pierre de Salabert, a former teacher of King Maximilian I Joseph of Bavaria. On the death of the Abbé Salabert in 1807, Maximilian I Joseph acquired the building. After his death in 1825, his son, Ludwig I, gave the building to his brother Prince Carl. He ordered Jean-Baptiste Métevier and Anton Schwanthaler to decorate the rooms. After Carl's death the Palais served as Diplomatic mission for Austria-Hungary from 1876 onwards before it became a residence for the Bavarian Prime Ministers in 1924.

The Altstadtring is the innermost ring road of Munich, Bavaria, Germany. With the exception of the northwestern part, it runs roughly along the path of the former second wall of Munich and surrounds Munich's Altstadt. With the exception of the part between Isartor and Sendlinger Tor, it is mostly built with four or five lanes. Because of the loop solution, it is impossible to drive through the Altstadt by motor vehicle, and all motor traffic must use the Altstadtring.

The Ministry of War (German: Kriegsministerium) was a ministry for military affairs of the Kingdom of Bavaria, founded as Ministerium des Kriegswesens on October 1, 1808 by King Maximilian I Joseph of Bavaria. It was located on the Ludwigstraße in Munich. Today the building, which was built by Leo von Klenze between 1824 and 1830, houses the Bavarian public record office, Bayerisches Hauptstaatsarchiv und Staatsarchiv München.

Universität is a Munich U-Bahn station located in the Munich borough of Maxvorstadt. The lines U3 and U6 both call at the station. It is located directly underneath the north-south-running Ludwigstraße, one of central Munich's main traffic arteries and one of the city's Prachtstraßen. The station's location on the western edge of the Englischer Garten also makes it one of the prime access routes to the city's largest park.
