Trerice

Benny Halt railway station is a halt on the Lappa Valley railway. The station was originally part of a tramway before being transformed into a steam railway attraction. The station is on the opening branch which takes customers and passengers from the entrance to the centre of the park. (EAST WHEAL ROSE) The branch uses steam locomotives either Muffin or Zebedee.

The Lappa Valley Railway is a 15 in (381 mm) minimum gauge railway located near Newquay in Cornwall. The railway functions as a tourist attraction, running from Benny Halt (50.3756°N 5.0412°W / 50.3756; -5.0412 (Benny Halt)) to East Wheal Rose (50.3623°N 5.0416°W / 50.3623; -5.0416 (East Wheal Rose)), where there is a leisure area with two miniature railways.

Kestle and Kestle Mill are hamlets in Cornwall, England. They are situated south of Quintrell Downs; Kestle Mill is on the A3058 main road. It is mostly in the civil parish of St. Newlyn East Kestle is an ancient village originally named Kestell predating King John but not listed in the Domesday Book. Kestle Mill stands just back from the road behind the old road bridge. The last recorded use of the mill varies from 1915 to 1950 but photos exist of the mill building and wheel taken during the 1920s which show the mill wheel overgrown and out of use. It is certain that by 1955 the mill was disused and abandoned and around this time the Mill was converted into two cottages. Looking at the mill building from the road today, the old Mill house is on the left hand side and the converted mill is on the right. All that remains of the mill machinery on site are three millstones standing in front of the building and a small section of the old mill leat which used to feed into a small culvert to one side of the old bridge.

Chapel (Cornish: Chapel Kernwhily, meaning chapel of lapwings) is a hamlet in Cornwall, England. Capel is situated 2 miles (3.2 km) east of Newquay.

Quintrell Downs is a village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, close to Newquay, at the junction of the A392 and A3058 roads. It is named after the surrounding area of moorland. The village is served by Quintrell Downs railway station. The name 'Quintrell' comes from the French meaning fop or dandy and back 600 years. The 'Downs' is the area to the south of what is the Two Clomes Inn - this area was called the common. The village is surround three farms - Trethiggey, Trewollack and Bejowan and all of these can be traced back at least 200 years. The village had a growth period in the 1930s, houses appearing above the railway line on the way to Newquay and also from the chapel eastwards. In the late 1940s buildings were restricted for want of materials, growth started but was very slow.

Tresillian House is a country house near St Newlyn East, off the A3058 road, Cornwall, England. It was registered as a Grade II listed building on 30 May 1967. It is most associated with the Bennet family historically; John Bennet, Curate of Antony was once owner of the house and in 1837 it was occupied by Richard Gully Bennet, who was a Magistrate of Cumberland. Tresillian means "a place of eels" in Cornish.

East Wheal Rose was a metalliferous mine around three-quarters of a mile (1.2 km) south east of the village of St Newlyn East and is around 4 miles (6.4 km) from Newquay on the north Cornwall coast, United Kingdom. The country rock at the mine was killas and its main produce was lead ore (galena), but as is usual when mining this mineral, commercial quantities of silver and zinc were also found and sold. Lead was found in the area in 1812 and in 1834 the mine was established, by 1846 the mine employed over 1,200 men, women and children.The two main lodes, called Middleton's Lode and East Lode, trended north-south. The ore they contained was in places very soft and loose and the killas was also not a particularly strong rock, necessitating extensive underground timbering, particularly in the shafts. Records show that the mine had more than twenty shafts on the two lodes, and the deepest workings were at 150 fathoms (900 ft).

St Newlyn East (Cornish: Eglosniwlin) is a civil parish and village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The village is approximately three miles (5 km) south of Newquay. The name St Newlyn East is locally abbreviated to Newlyn East and according to an anonymous historian writing in The Cornishman in 1880 it was only in recent years that Saint had been added to the parish name.The parish is named after the patron saint of the church, St Newlina, and the population was 1,390 in the 2001 census, which had increased to 1,635 at the 2011 census. There is also an electoral ward named Newlyn and Goonhavern which following the 2011 census had a population of 4,933.The Lappa Valley Steam Railway tourist attraction operates near Newlyn East. At Trerice is the Tudor mansion of the Arundells now in the care of the National Trust. To the northeast is Tresillian House. The village has a primary school.

Nansledan is a major new suburb of Newquay in Cornwall, England. Nansledan has been developed by the estate of the Duchy of Cornwall since 2013, with residents first occupying their homes in 2015. The development, officially described as 'an extension of Newquay', had the endorsement of King Charles III during his time as Duke of Cornwall.Nansledan is expected to have up to 4,400 homes once completed.
