Pilsen Historic District

Thalia Hall is an historic building in Pilsen, Chicago which is currently a mixed-use music, retail, and bar/restaurant space. It was designated as a Chicago Landmark on October 25, 1989.Thalia Hall was built in 1892 by saloonkeeper John Dusek, and designed by architects Frederick Faber and William Pagels in the Romanesque Revival style.Its current owners, as of 2018, are Bruce Finkelman and Craig Golde, through their firm 16” on Center.

The Fisk Generating Station, also known as Fisk Street Generating Station or Fisk Station is an inactive medium-size, coal-fired electric generating station located at 1111 West Cermak Road in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. It is sited near the south branch of the Chicago River to provide access to water for steam and barge traffic for coal, but closed in 2012.

Benito Juarez Community Academy, (commonly known as Juarez High School), is a public 4–year high school in the Pilsen neighborhood on the west side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. Juarez is named for Mexican president Benito Pablo Juárez García. The school is a part of the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) district. As of 2014 it is the largest high school in Pilsen. It was designed by architect Pedro Ramírez Vázquez. The school was proposed to the Chicago Board of Education multiple times but ultimately rejected. This led to protests and boycotts from many Mexican students and families. Finally, in June 1974, the Chicago Board of Education approved $8.9 million in funding to build a high school in Pilsen. Benito Juarez Community Academy opened in 1977 and as of 2017 has a 94 percent Latino student body. The school is decorated with murals and statues that portray Mexican culture and famous leaders.

The Produce Terminal Cold Storage Company Building is a historic refrigerated warehouse at 1550 South Blue Island Avenue in the Near West Side neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Built in 1928–29, the warehouse was the largest cold storage facility in Chicago when it opened. As Chicago was a major shipping and transportation hub, refrigerated storage played a key role in preserving perishable goods so they could be sold year-round. Architects H. Peter Henschien, a renowned designer of refrigerated facilities, and Robert J. McLaren designed the Art Deco building. The top two stories of the eleven-story building feature extensive terra cotta and tile ornamentation, including chevrons, Egyptian-inspired colonettes, and a dentillated cornice with cymatium molding. In addition to its extensive refrigerated space, the interior plan also included processing and office space, improving efficiency and lowering costs for the building's tenants.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 22, 2003.

South Water Market is a historic produce market in the Lower West Side neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Completed in 1925, the complex was designed as a structured replacement to Chicago's sprawling downtown produce markets on South Water Street; while these markets had existed since the mid-19th century, they had become a traffic and sanitation problem. The new complex included six buildings with 166 units, all with modernized and hygienic facilities; despite being relocated away from South Water Street, it kept the South Water name. The complex was the largest produce market by area in the nation when it opened, and it soon became the second-largest by sales behind New York City's markets. The market served as the nexus of Chicago's major produce wholesaling industry, which both provided food for city residents and functioned as a forwarding market due to the city's railroad connections. Although business at the market fell into a decline by the 1950s, the market remained in operation until 2001. The market was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 20, 2004.

The Otis Elevator Company Factory Building is a historic industrial building located at 1435 W. 15th Street in the Near West Side neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The Otis Elevator Company had the factory built in 1900. The company, then the nation's largest elevator manufacturer, sought to grow its sales in Chicago, as the city's growth and numerous new skyscrapers made it a profitable market for elevators. The Chicago firm of Adler & Treat designed the factory as a brick building with Colonial Revival elements. The factory served as a regional headquarters until 1914, when Otis restructured and introduced smaller regional offices; while it continued to have a Chicago office, it sold the factory building. The Riley-Schubert-Grossman Company, a wholesaling firm, purchased the building in 1916; while it only occupied the building for a short time, its extensive remodeling gave it its present-day layout.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 26, 2008.

Chicago Tech academy (Chicago Tech) is a high school in the Chicago University Village in Pilsen. Chicago Tech Opened in September 2009 as the city's first technology high school. After being open for 5 years, the school was partnered with High Tech High in an attempt to stay open. With the partnership, they received a new principal and school support system, and transitioned to project-based learning. The Duck Inn is a restaurant in Chicago, Illinois. It was a semifinalist in the Outstanding Restaurant category of the James Beard Foundation Awards in 2024.

Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church was a church in Chicago on 19th and Peoria streets in the Pilsen neighborhood. The church was founded in 1850 and the current remains of the church are from 1880. From roughly 1910 to 1941, Adolf Kuring served as the church's minister.After a 1979 fire and windstorm knocked down the walls and left the entrance, steeple and footprint of the building, the property was quickly purchased by John Podmajersky.

St. Adalbert Church (Polish: Kościół Świętego Wojciecha) is a historic church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago. The church is located on 17th Street between Paulina Street and Ashland Avenue in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. St. Adalbert has served generations of Polish immigrants and their American-born children; at its peak, parish membership numbered 4,000 families with more than 2,000 children enrolled in the school. Today, the church is an anchor for the Mexican immigrants that have made the Pilsen area their home. The church is named after St. Adalbert of Prague. In June 2019, the Archdiocese of Chicago announced that the church would permanently close on July 15, 2019.
