Carshalton Boys Sports College (formerly Carshalton High School for Boys) is an academy school that educates around 1200 boys aged 11–19 years old. It is situated on the southern edge of the St Helier local authority Housing Estate within the boundaries of Carshalton, London Borough of Sutton, England. In September 2003, the school was designated as a specialist sports college. As of 2011, the school has converted to academy status, but continues to have sport as a specialism. GCSE results have consistently been increasingly dramatically since 2009, although still below the national average. In addition, the school is rated 'Good' by OFSTED.

The London Borough of Merton ( (listen)) is a borough in Southwest London, England. The borough was formed under the London Government Act 1963 in 1965 by the merger of the Municipal Borough of Mitcham, the Municipal Borough of Wimbledon and the Merton and Morden Urban District, all formerly within Surrey. The main commercial centres in Merton are Mitcham, Morden and Wimbledon, of which Wimbledon is the largest. Other smaller centres include Raynes Park, Colliers Wood, South Wimbledon, Wimbledon Park and Tooting Broadway. The borough is the host of the Wimbledon tournament, one of tennis's Grand Slam competitions. The borough derives its name from the historic parish of Merton which was centred on the area now known as South Wimbledon. Merton was chosen as an acceptable compromise, following a dispute between Wimbledon and Mitcham over the new borough's name. The local authority is Merton London Borough Council, which is based in Morden.

Durand Close was a housing estate situated at grid reference TQ 277 661 in Carshalton, Greater London. It held over 300 homes when it was built in the 1960s. In 2009, the estate was demolished to make way for an £83m redevelopment by Rydon Construction Ltd. The River Wandle passes through the estate from Culvers Avenue, with another opening at Buckhurst Avenue and also exits at Buckhurst Avenue.

Wandle Valley Wetland is a 0.6 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Carshalton in the London Borough of Sutton. It is owned by the Council and managed by the Council together with Sutton Nature Conservation Volunteers.The site has open water and seasonal pools, scrub and wet woodland. There are frogs, toads and newts, together with Brown Hawker dragonflies and birds including blackcaps and wrens.The entrance in Budge Lane is kept locked and there is no public access.

The Wrythe is a district of Carshalton, South London, located in the London Borough of Sutton. The area is located 9.3 miles South of Charing Cross and is surrounded by the adjacent areas of Hackbridge and Croydon to the east, Morden and Mitcham to the north, Sutton to the west. The area is commonly referred to as Wrythe Green which is located at the centre of the neighbourhood. It is thought that the name derives from a spring which is related to the River Wandle which runs through the east of the area from the Carshalton ponds. The Wrythe had a population of 10,163 in the 2011 Census.

Spencer Road Wetlands is a one hectare Local Nature Reserve in Mitcham in the London Borough of Sutton. It is owned by Sutton Council and managed by the London Wildlife Trust.From about 1895 to 1959 the site was subject to controlled flooding for watercress production. It was left then unmanaged, and colonised by willow woodland, until the late 1980s, and in 1991 the London Wildlife Trust took over the management. The site has reed swamps with wetland vegetation, woodland, a sedge-bed and a pond. Insects include the twin-spotted wainscot and crescent moths, and there are birds such as grey heron, Eurasian reed warbler and kingfisher.The entrance at the corner of Spencer Road and Wood Street is kept locked and public access is limited to monthly open days, normally on the first Saturday of each month.

Bennett's Hole is a 1.2 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Mitcham in the London Borough of Merton. According to the Natural England details page about the site, it is owned by Merton Council and managed by the council and London Wildlife Trust, but it is not shown on the Trust's list of reserves.The reserve is a narrow strip along the east bank of the River Wandle. It has areas of woodland, marsh, scrub and an open ditch. Trees include crack willow and oak, and there is a variety of tall herbs. There is access from Willow Lane.

Rosehill is a suburb of Sutton in south-west London. It lends its name to the Rose Hill roundabout, which connects the A217, A297 and B278. At the 2011 Census the population of the suburb was included in the Sutton North ward of the London Borough of Sutton. The area surrounding Rosehill is notably green: there are two large green spaces to the southeast and southwest, Rosehill Park East and Rosehill Park West, the latter housing the Sutton Tennis Academy; a park to the west, Thomas Wall Park, named after the local benefactor; and a park to the east opposite St Helier Hospital, called the St. Helier Open Space. It is also residential in character, with two large sets of flats immediately north and south of the roundabout. The northern block of flats is in an Art Deco style, and dates from the 1930s; the southern development was built by Bellway Homes and marketed as luxury apartments circa 2003.

The Spinney, Carshalton (or Nightingale Road Bird Sanctuary) is a 0.4 hectare local nature reserve in Carshalton in the London Borough of Sutton, England. It is owned by Sutton Council and managed by the council and Sutton Nature Conservation Volunteers. It used to be managed by the London Wildlife Trust.The L-shaped reserve is a mixture of woodland and scrub, with the main trees being plane and elm. Breeding birds include dunnocks, wrens and blackbirds. Other animals include wood boring beetles and foxes. An unusual plant is butcher's broom.The entrance in Nightingale Road is kept locked and there is no public access.

Carshalton Athletic Football Club is an English football club based in Carshalton in the London Borough of Sutton. They currently play in the Isthmian League Premier Division and are based at the War Memorial Sports Ground. The club also field a women's team playing in the London and South East Regional Women's Premier Division and have one of the biggest community clubs in England with over 40 junior teams.

Imperial Fields is a football stadium in Mitcham, south London, which is home to Tooting & Mitcham United and Kingstonian. It is also the former ground of Chelsea Ladies. The stadium opened in 2002, and has a total capacity of 3,500 (612 seated).

St Helier Hospital (full title: St Helier Hospital and Queen Mary's Hospital for Children) in the London Borough of Sutton is run by St George's, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group along with Epsom Hospital. It is located next to the large St Helier council estate and close to the major intersection known as Rosehill. The hospital offers a full range of hospital services including a 24-hour accident and emergency department. The site is also home to the South West Renal and Transplantation Service and the Queen Mary's Hospital for Children, a dedicated children's hospital. St Helier Hospital is a major teaching hospital for St George's, University of London, and is a main teaching site for medical degrees.
