Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church No.1 is a historic Missionary Baptist church building in Mobile, Alabama. The church was built in 1916 by the local African American community. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 29, 2008, based on its architectural significance.

The Dave Patton House is a historic house in Mobile, Alabama, United States. The two-story structure was built for Dave Patton, a local African American entrepreneur. He purchased this property in 1900 and completed the Mediterranean Revival style house, designed by local architect George Bigelow Rogers, in 1915.Dave Patton was born in 1879 and began his career using two mules to haul merchandise for local merchants. He gradually built up his own business, becoming a prominent real estate entrepreneur and contractor. He is known to have built many of the area's roads and schools. Patton died in 1927. The property eventually passed into the ownership of the Stewart Memorial C.M.E. Church and today serves as the parsonage for that church. The house is included on the African American Heritage Trail of Mobile and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 12, 1987.

The Lafayette Heights Historic District is a historic district in Mobile, Alabama. The neighborhood lies to the northwest of downtown Mobile, straddling St. Stephens Road and centered on Lafayette Street. During the Civil War, the area was the site of the city's earthwork defenses. It began to develop around 1892 as a working- and lower-middle-class neighborhood of mostly modest one-story homes, with larger homes along Lafayette Street. Architectural styles reflect those popular at the time, including Victorian, Classical Revival, Four square, Craftsman, and Minimal Traditional, and some early Ranches. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

The Campground Historic District, also known as The Campground is a historic district in the city of Mobile, Alabama, United States. Named for the Old Camp Ground, a military encampment that occupied the property during the American Civil War, this historically African-American neighborhood was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 7, 2005. It is roughly bounded by Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Rylands Street, St. Stephens Road, and Ann Street. The district covers 370 acres (1.5 km2) and contains 166 contributing buildings. The houses range from shotgun houses to bungalows and date from the late 19th century to the middle 20th century.

The Weems House, also known as Fowler Cottage, is a historic residence in Mobile, Alabama. Completed in 1870, the one-story frame structure is a late example of the Greek Revival-style. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 7, 1982. The house functioned as a private residence until July 18, 1991, when it was purchased by the Dragons Civic and Social Club, a local fraternal organization.

Bishop State Community College (BSCC) is a public, historically black community college with campuses and facilities throughout Mobile and Washington Counties in Alabama. The college was founded in Mobile, Alabama, in 1927, and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. It offers more than 50 associate degree and certificate programs.BSCC's athletic teams compete in the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). They are collectively known as the Wildcats.

The Caldwell School is a historic former black school building in Mobile, Alabama. The school, originally named the Broad Street Academy, was the first public high school for African Americans in the city. It was founded in 1887, with William A. Caldwell serving as the first principal.The original building was torn down and replaced with the current one in 1947. Upon reopening in the new building, it served as an African American elementary school. It was called the Caldwell School in honor of its first principal from this point until closing during the 1960s.Following the closure of the school the building was purchased by Bishop State Community College, a historically African American junior college. It is currently the oldest building on the Broad Street college campus and is utilized for administrative and teaching purposes. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 20, 2011.

The Tschiener House, also known as the Dumas School, was a historic residence in Mobile, Alabama, United States. The Carpenter Gothic structure was built in 1866. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 18, 1982. It was later destroyed by fire. One former outbuilding remains at the site.

McGill–Toolen Catholic High School, founded as the McGill Institute and sometimes called "McT" for short, is a private co-educational high school operated by the educational system of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Mobile in Mobile, Alabama.

Catholic Cemetery, formerly known as the Stone Street Cemetery, is a historic 150-acre (61 ha) cemetery located in Mobile, Alabama. It was established in 1848 by Michael Portier, a native of Montbrison, France and the first Roman Catholic Bishop of Mobile. The cemetery contains roughly 18,000 burials and has plots dedicated to various Roman Catholic religious institutes, including the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, Daughters of Charity, Little Sisters of the Poor, and Sisters of Mercy. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 3, 1991, as a part of the Historic Roman Catholic Properties in Mobile Multiple Property Submission.

The Old Dauphin Way Historic District is a historic district in the city of Mobile, Alabama, United States. It was named for Dauphin Way, now known as Dauphin Street, which bisects the center of the district from east to west. The district is roughly bounded by Broad Street on the east, Springhill Avenue on the north, Government Street on the south, and Houston Avenue on the west. Covering 766 acres (3.10 km2) and containing 1466 contributing buildings, Old Dauphin Way is the largest historic district in Mobile. Although most of the district contains working-class frame houses, large and ornate mansions are found along the main thoroughfares. The contributing buildings range in age from the mid-19th to the early 20th century. Architectural styles include Greek Revival, Gothic Revival, Italianate, Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and American Foursquare.

The Alabama School of Mathematics and Science (ASMS) is a public residential high school in the Midtown neighborhood of Mobile, Alabama. ASMS is a member of the National Consortium of Secondary STEM Schools (NCSSS). It graduated its first class in 1993. The school was founded in 1989 as a unique public-private partnership. The Alabama School of Mathematics and Science is part of the state government, while the Alabama School of Mathematics and Science Foundation coordinates private support. It was modeled after the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics and the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts where students complete their final two or three years of high school focusing on advanced studies in mathematics and the sciences. Although a boarding school, it does not charge for tuition, books, room, or board. The only fees include an annual student activity fee, which covers class trips and other day-to-day activities, along with an enrollment fee (for new students only), a PSAT fee, and a graduation fee. The annual student activity fee was $1,575 for the 2019 - 2020 school year. The school's focus is preparing its students for higher education, and residency is a requirement for all students.ASMS's mascot is a dragon.
