Portloe (Cornish: Porthlogh) is a small village in Cornwall on the Roseland Peninsula, in the civil parish of Veryan. Portloe harbours two full-time working fishing vessels, the Jasmine and Katy Lil, which fish for crab and lobster in Veryan and Gerrans Bay, and a fleet of smaller leisure boats in summer. Visitors are attracted to Portloe by its fishing, scenery, and walks. Portloe lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation, with the same status and protection as a National Park. The South West Coast Path passes through the village. The name Portloe comes from the Cornish language words porth, meaning 'cove' or 'harbour', and logh, meaning 'lake' or 'inlet'.

Portloe Lifeboat Station was located in the small village of Portloe, which sits on the Roseland Peninsula, approximately 10 miles (16 km) south east of Truro, overlooking Veryan Bay, on the south east coast of Cornwall. A lifeboat was first placed at Portloe in 1870, by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). After just 17 years of operation, Porthleven lifeboat station was closed in 1887.

Portholland (Cornish: Porthalan) is a settlement in Cornwall, England, UK. It is on the south coast in the civil parish of St Michael Caerhays. The name Portholland comes from the Cornish language elements porth, meaning 'cove' or 'harbour', and Alan, a personal name. Portholland is two adjacent villages, West Portholland and East Portholland at opposite ends of two separate namesake beaches which join in the middle. It is possible to walk between the two villages on the beach at low tide. West Portholland is in Veryan civil parish, the parish boundary is a minor stream between East and West Portholland. East Portholland used to have a post office and general store, but both have shut down. Portholland lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). East Portholland was a filming location for the village scenes of the fictional Welsh island Cairnholm in the 2016 film Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. There is a cliff path connecting West and East Portholland which has several distinct features such as paw prints in the concrete and the text “PAN MOJ”

Veryan (Cornish: Elerghi) is a coastal civil parish and village on the Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The village has been described as one of Cornwall's loveliest inland villages and as ′a mild tropic garden′ by John Betjeman. It is probably best known for the round-houses, built by the vicar Jeremiah Trist in the early 19th century.

St Michael Caerhays (Cornish: Lannvighal) is a civil parish and village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The village is about seven miles (11 km) south-southwest of St Austell. The population as of the 2011 census was 96 St Michael Caerhays lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The ecclesiastical parish was a chapelry of St Stephen in Brannel until 1832. From the 16th century the Rectors of St Stephen resided here so the church of St Michael came to be regarded as the mother church. The church is Norman but the Lady Chapel was added in the 15th century by the Trevanions and it contains their monuments. Their home was on the site of Caerhayes Castle. Caerhays Castle, a picturesque castellated mansion, is situated half-a-mile south of the village and was built by John Nash for J. B. Trevanion in 1808.

Truro Rural District was a local government division of Cornwall in England, UK, between 1894 and 1974. Established under the Local Government Act 1894 in 1934, the rural district was enlarged by the abolition of East Kerrier Rural District, Redruth Rural District and St Columb Major Rural District, but was reduced to enlarge Truro Municipal Borough.In 1974, the district was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972, forming part of the new Carrick district.

Melinsey is a hamlet south of Ruan High Lanes in Cornwall, England. The name is derived from the Cornish word "melinjy" which means "mill house".Melinsey Watermill dates from the Middle Ages and has been restored to working order. It was originally built to grind wheat into food for livestock. It has a Cafe specialising in Cornish cream teas and a craft shop.

Cuby (Cornish: Sen Kubi) was formerly a civil parish in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, situated approximately 7 miles (12 km) southwest of St Austell. The parish was created in 1866 from the part of the ancient parish of Tregony which lay outside Tregony's borough boundaries. It was named after the parish church, dedicated to St Cuby, which stands on the north-eastern edge of Tregony, but was just outside the old borough boundary. In 2021 the parish was reunited with Tregony to form a new parish called Tregony with Cuby. The parish of Cuby was always rural, with no significant settlements. At the 2011 census (the last before the parish's abolition) it had a population of 178.

Tregony (Cornish: Trerigoni), is a village in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. Tregony was formerly a civil parish, but in 2021 it was merged with the neighbouring parish of Cuby to form a new parish called Tregony with Cuby. Tregony lies on the east bank of the River Fal, and is 6 miles (10 km) east of Truro. The Fal was historically navigable up to a port at Tregony. The village today has a shop with post office facilities, the Kings Arms pub, a sports and social club and two churches. Tregony with Cuby parish also covers rural areas surrounding Tregony village, with several outlying farms. The part of the parish west of the River Fal was formerly the separate parish of Cornelly, which was absorbed into Tregony parish in 1934. At the 2021 census the population of Tregony with Cuby parish was 1,093 and the population of the Tregony built up area was 788.
