Tregony

The Roseland Academy is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, located in Tregony in the English county of Cornwall. The school was established in 1963, and became a comprehensive in 1976. Previously a foundation school administered by Cornwall Council, Roseland Community College converted to academy status on 1 April 2011. The school continues to coordinate with Cornwall Council for admissions. The Roseland Academy offers GCSEs, BTECs and OCR Nationals as programmes of study for pupils. The school also offers some vocational courses in conjunction with Truro and Penwith College and Cornwall College.

Cuby (Cornish: Sen Kubi) was formerly a civil parish in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, situated approximately 7 miles (12 km) southwest of St Austell. The parish was created in 1866 from the part of the ancient parish of Tregony which lay outside Tregony's borough boundaries. It was named after the parish church, dedicated to St Cuby, which stands on the north-eastern edge of Tregony, but was just outside the old borough boundary. In 2021 the parish was reunited with Tregony to form a new parish called Tregony with Cuby. The parish of Cuby was always rural, with no significant settlements. At the 2011 census (the last before the parish's abolition) it had a population of 178.

Creed (Cornish: Krid) is a village in the civil parish of Grampound with Creed in Cornwall, England. It lies less than a mile south of Grampound and roughly midway between Truro and St Austell.

Truro Rural District was a local government division of Cornwall in England, UK, between 1894 and 1974. Established under the Local Government Act 1894 in 1934, the rural district was enlarged by the abolition of East Kerrier Rural District, Redruth Rural District and St Columb Major Rural District, but was reduced to enlarge Truro Municipal Borough.In 1974, the district was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972, forming part of the new Carrick district.

The two major settlements in the parish are the ancient town of Grampound and the smaller village of Creed (Cornish: Krida). The larger settlement, Grampound, is situated approximately six miles (10 km) west of St Austell at grid reference SW 935 483, and Creed is one mile (1.6 km) south at SW 934 472. Grampound with Creed is bordered by St Stephen-in-Brannel parish to the north, St Ewe parish to the east and Cuby parish to the south. On the west, the parish boundary generally follows the River Fal, which separates it from Probus parish. At the 2021 census the parish had a population of 850.

Almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation, with the same status and protection as a National Park. William Gregor, the discoverer of titanium, was born on the Trewarthenick Estate as was his brother Francis Gregor, MP for the County of Cornwall from 1790 to 1806.
