Eller is an urban borough of Düsseldorf. It is located in the east of the central district. Eller has been a part of Düsseldorf since the year 1909.

Vennhausen is an urban borough of Düsseldorf. It borders on Unterbach, Eller and Gerresheim. A few hundred years ago the area was swamp, moor and fen, hence the name for the settlement Vennhausen, which is derived from "Venn", a Low German word for fen. Vennhausen became a settlement much later than its neighbouring boroughs, starting in the Tannenhof. In 1809 Vennhausen became a part of the communal district of Gerresheim due to the Napoleonic area reforms at that time. In 1872 Vennhausen got its own railway station which helped with the transportation of workers, who had settled in Vennhausen, to and from the factories in Gerresheim and Eller. The station was closed in the 1970s. In 1909 Vennhausen became a part of Düsseldorf. Today Vennhausen has about 10,000 inhabitants. Düsseldorf-Gerresheim station is a through station in the district of Gerresheim in the city of Düsseldorf in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The station was opened along with the Düsseldorf–Elberfeld railway from Düsseldorf to Erkrath by the Düsseldorf-Elberfeld Railway Company on 20 December 1838. It has two platform tracks and it is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station. Its station building, which has been refurbished as Kulturbahnhof (culture station) is the oldest extant station building in Germany. The station is served by Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn lines S 8 between Mönchengladbach and Wuppertal-Oberbarmen or Hagen every 20 minutes, S 28 between Mettmann Stadtwald or Wuppertal Hauptbahnhof and Kaarster See every 20 and several S 68 services between Wuppertal-Vohwinkel and Langenfeld in the peak hour.It is also served by Stadtbahn line U73 (every 10 minutes) and four bus routes: 730 (10), 736 (20), 736 (20/40) and 737 (20), all operated by Rheinbahn.

District 9 (German: Stadtbezirk 9) is a southern borough of Düsseldorf, the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The district covers an area of 36.57 square kilometres and (as of December 2020) has approximately 94,000 inhabitants, making it the city's second most populous district after District 3.The district borders Düsseldorf Districts 3 and 8 to the north, and 10 to the south. Lierenfeld is an urban borough of Düsseldorf. It borders on Eller, Oberbilk, Flingern and Wersten. Lierenfeld was a conglomerate of homesteads when it became a part of Düsseldorf in 1384. For a long while Lierenfeld had an agricultural character. It changed in the time of the Industrial Revolution. It became mainly an industrial district. In the 1920s the city of Düsseldorf tried to develop it to a nicer living area with a garden settlement. But Lierenfeld is mainly still an industrial area. There has been a change since the beginning of the 1990s: An old steelwork transmogrified to a great area discothèque – called "Stahlwerk" (steelwork in German), another disco is called "Tor 3" (gate 3 in German). Borough 8 (German: Stadtbezirk 8) is a southeastern borough of Düsseldorf, the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The borough covers an area of 20.96 square kilometres and (as of December 2020) has about 61,000 inhabitants. The borough borders with the Düsseldorf boroughs 2, 3, 7 and 9. To the East the borough borders with the rural district of Mettmann.

Reisholz is an urban borough of Düsseldorf. It is located in the south of the city, bordering Holthausen, Benrath, Hassels and the river Rhine. Reisholz is an industrial part of the city. Its history started in 1905 by creation of a harbour to the Rhine, a goods station and an industrial area by the Industrie-Terrains Düsseldorf-Reisholz (IDR) company. Many chemical factories, engine building industries, paper mills, petrochemical manufacturers and an oil refinery went to Reisholz. In 1907 the IDR company built a neogothic church. It was demolished, when the Henkel Company expanded in Reisholz, but Henkel built a new church for Reisholz. Reisholz belonged to Benrath and became a part of Düsseldorf together with Benrath in 1929. In the harbour of Reisholz there are plans for a new business and living area.

Hassels is an urban district in Düsseldorf, Germany. It was called "Hasselholt" (modern German Haselholz) meaning hazel wood until the 17th century, when it was shortened to its current name. Hassels belonged to the Knights of Eller and was later administered by the mayor of Benrath. In 1929 Hassels and Benrath were absorbed into Düsseldorf. Large housing developments were built in Hassels in the 1920s, the 1950s and in the 1970s. Hassels' 17th century church no longer exists. The Paul-Janes-Stadion in Düsseldorf-Flingern is one of the home grounds of Fortuna Düsseldorf (1930–1972, early 2002-2005). It is located at 87 Flinger Broich, to the east of the city centre in the Nord Flingern district. The stadium was built in 1930 by the team; now city-owned, it has been named since 1990 after the long-standing Düsseldorf and national football player Paul Janes. Before 1990 was it called "Flinger Broich" or "Fortunaplatz". After World War II, the British army took over the stadium. A storm in 1958 destroyed the corrugated iron roof. In 1967 Fortuna Düsseldorf's clubhouse was built on the grounds. While the Rheinstadion was under renovation in the 1970s, the Paul-Janes-Stadion was a Bundesliga ground, and appropriate floodlighting was therefore installed. In 2001–02, the stadium was further renovated, to provide Fortuna with a satisfactory ground after the demolition of the Rheinstadion. New terraces were built and the grandstand was renovated. The renovations, financed by the City of Düsseldorf, cost €5 million. After the completion of the LTU Arena (now Esprit Arena), Fortuna Düsseldorf continued to play up to three home matches a year in Paul-Janes-Stadion, playing the remainder in the modern arena, until the 2007/2008 season, since when no further league matches have been played by the first eleven in the older stadium; it is now used exclusively for test, friendly, and cup matches and for all matches of the second eleven (Fortuna Düsseldorf II) and youth affiliate matches. During the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the stadium was the venue for the biggest "Public Viewing" showing in a non-World Cup city in Germany. In addition to 12,600 seats for the fans in the stadium, there was a promenade around the stadium and an entertainment programme, particularly for children.
