Lierenfeld is an urban borough of Düsseldorf. It borders on Eller, Oberbilk, Flingern and Wersten. Lierenfeld was a conglomerate of homesteads when it became a part of Düsseldorf in 1384. For a long while Lierenfeld had an agricultural character. It changed in the time of the Industrial Revolution. It became mainly an industrial district. In the 1920s the city of Düsseldorf tried to develop it to a nicer living area with a garden settlement. But Lierenfeld is mainly still an industrial area. There has been a change since the beginning of the 1990s: An old steelwork transmogrified to a great area discothèque – called "Stahlwerk" (steelwork in German), another disco is called "Tor 3" (gate 3 in German). Düsseldorf-Eller Süd station is located approximately 5 kilometres south of Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof in the district of Eller in the city of Düsseldorf in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is on the Cologne–Duisburg line and is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station. The Paul-Janes-Stadion in Düsseldorf-Flingern is one of the home grounds of Fortuna Düsseldorf (1930–1972, early 2002-2005). It is located at 87 Flinger Broich, to the east of the city centre in the Nord Flingern district. The stadium was built in 1930 by the team; now city-owned, it has been named since 1990 after the long-standing Düsseldorf and national football player Paul Janes. Before 1990 was it called "Flinger Broich" or "Fortunaplatz". After World War II, the British army took over the stadium. A storm in 1958 destroyed the corrugated iron roof. In 1967 Fortuna Düsseldorf's clubhouse was built on the grounds. While the Rheinstadion was under renovation in the 1970s, the Paul-Janes-Stadion was a Bundesliga ground, and appropriate floodlighting was therefore installed. In 2001–02, the stadium was further renovated, to provide Fortuna with a satisfactory ground after the demolition of the Rheinstadion. New terraces were built and the grandstand was renovated. The renovations, financed by the City of Düsseldorf, cost €5 million. After the completion of the LTU Arena (now Esprit Arena), Fortuna Düsseldorf continued to play up to three home matches a year in Paul-Janes-Stadion, playing the remainder in the modern arena, until the 2007/2008 season, since when no further league matches have been played by the first eleven in the older stadium; it is now used exclusively for test, friendly, and cup matches and for all matches of the second eleven (Fortuna Düsseldorf II) and youth affiliate matches. During the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the stadium was the venue for the biggest "Public Viewing" showing in a non-World Cup city in Germany. In addition to 12,600 seats for the fans in the stadium, there was a promenade around the stadium and an entertainment programme, particularly for children.

It was originally named after Dutch electronics conglomerate Philips. It was renamed the Mitsubishi Electric Halle in April 2011.It was home of the RheinEnergie Köln, for Euroleague games, for the 2006/2007 season. On 7 May 2001, Irish vocal pop band Westlife held a concert for their Where Dreams Come True Tour supporting their album Coast to Coast. In their early days, U2 played there on the 10 October 1984 as part of The Unforgettable Fire Tour. On June 29 2007 french electronic duo Daft Punk performed their first time in Germany with the Alive 2006/2007 tour. On 15 June 2019, British pop band Take That played a date as part of their European Greatest Hits Live tour. The nearest Train Station to the arena is Düsseldorf-Oberbilk, which is served by S-Bahn lines S1, S6 and during peak hours S68, Stadtbahn lines U74, U77 and U79 as well as Tram line 705.

Ellerstraße is an underground station on the Düsseldorf Stadtbahn lines U74, U77 and U79 in Düsseldorf. The station lies on Ellerstraße in the district of Oberbilk. The station was opened on 15 June 2002; it consists of two side-platform with two rail tracks.

Kiefernstraße ( pronounced ['ki:fɐn'ʃtra:sə]) is a street in the Flingern-Süd district of Düsseldorf that became notorious in the 1980s for squatting. In the mid-1980s there were connections to the Baader–Meinhof Gang. Nowadays, the former squatters have regular leases.

Flingern is a former blue-collar borough of Düsseldorf. Located northeast of Düsseldorf (proper), it is divided into two boroughs today: Flingern-Nord and Flingern-Süd. While Flingern-Nord has a younger population and is more attractive to middle-class families, Flingern-Süd is still mostly home to working-class people. Flingern was first mentioned in 1193 as a forested area that was ruled by the Knights Hayc of Flingern. In the 13th and 14th centuries the City of Düsseldorf grew on the grounds of the Knights Hayc von Flingern. By the end of the 14th century the knights lost their influence. Jan Wellem, Elector Palantine, constructed the Flinger Steinweg which was a paved road leading from Düsseldorf through Flingern to Gerresheim. During the Industrial Revolution Flingern became an industrial and working class town and to this day it has many old and new factories. Only the old facade remains of the old baths of the early 20th century, which has been converted into a modern wellness center on the inside. An old steel factory was converted to a popular discothèque called Stahlwerk and was one of the early venues playing Techno music in the 1990s.
