Carolina Meadows is a planned community and census-designated place (CDP) in Chatham County, North Carolina, United States. It was first listed as a CDP in the 2020 census with a population of 727.The community is in northern Chatham County, 5 miles (8 km) south-southeast of the center of Chapel Hill. The CDP is bordered to the north by Orange County and Durham County. State Road 1726 (Old Farrington Road) forms the southeastern border of the community, and State Route 1727 (Whippoorwill Lane) is the southwestern border. The Governors Village CDP is to the southwest, across Whippoorwill Lane.

Governors Club is a golf course community and census-designated place (CDP) in Chatham County, North Carolina, United States. It was first listed as a CDP in the 2020 census with a population of 1,969.The community is in northern Chatham County, 7 miles (11 km) south of Chapel Hill. It is bordered to the northeast by the Governors Village CDP. The 667-foot (203 m) summit of Edwards Mountain is in the west-central part of the Governors Club CDP.

John A. Mason House is a historic home located near Farrington, Chatham County, North Carolina. It was built about 1850, and is a two-story, Greek Revival style frame dwelling. It has a two-story rear ell and another one-story rear section. The front facade features a one-story, original, hip-roofed porch.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

CHYDARU, unabbreviated name Chapel Hill Youth Development and Research Unit, was an experimental youth prison operated by the Institute of Government at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the North Carolina prison system. Built in 1945, it opened as a prison for youth under the age of 18 on May 1, 1964. The project was as an advancement in prison structure. It closed later in 1965 due to budget shortages. Sometime during the 1970s (presumably 1973) it housed the Bureau of School Services, which was operated by UNC. Later in 1975, it was repurposed to store radioactive waste. As of 1996, it became exclusively a radioactive storage-for-decay facility, where short-lived radioactive wastes are stored until they are no longer radioactive, at which point they are removed. It is inspected annually by the state government.

Northeast District Park is a 66 acre public park in Chatham County, North Carolina in the United States, operated by the Chatham County Parks and Recreation Department.Amenities include a regulation-size baseball field with lights and bleachers, two regulation tennis courts, a multipurpose field for soccer, ultimate, football, rugby, and other field sports approximately 125 by 85 yards with bleachers (approx. 150 seats), a restroom/concession building, a picnic shelter with pond view, a playground, a 1/4-mile asphalt walking trail that loops the pond, and parking. The pond existed as part of the farm that was on the parklands before the park was developed. Use of firearms is forbidden in the gamelands around the park. Signs are posted to indicate that only bow hunting is allowed in this area.

Watts Restaurant and Grill was a former restaurant operating in Chapel Hill, Orange County, North Carolina throughout the 1950s and 60s.

The North Carolina Botanical Garden (about 700 acres (2.8 km2), plus 210 acres (0.85 km2) of nature preserves) is a botanical garden operated by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The primary goal of the Garden is to research, catalog, and promote the native plant species of North Carolina.

The William Lanier Hunt Arboretum (over 100 acres) is an arboretum and natural area that forms part of the North Carolina Botanical Garden. It is operated by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Old Mason Farm Road, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The arboretum is private and not open to the public. Arboretum property was donated by William Lanier Hunt between the 1960s and the 1990s in order to protect natural areas and conserve woody plants of the southeastern United States. It includes several rhododendron bluffs in a gorge along Morgan Creek.

UNC Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is the home of the North Carolina Tar Heels men's and women's golf teams. It was originally built by Raleigh businessman A. E. Finley in 1949 to a design by George Cobb. Further holes were added in the 1980s along with renovation of the clubhouse. In 1999, renowned designer Tom Fazio remolded the course into its current par 72 layout with five sets of tees ranging from 4,981 to 7,220 yards in length.

WUNC (91.5 MHz) is a listener-supported public radio station, serving the Research Triangle area of North Carolina. It is licensed to Chapel Hill and is operated by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. On weekdays, WUNC carries National Public Radio, American Public Media, Public Radio Exchange, and BBC programming in an "all-news-and-information" format, including shows such as All Things Considered, Morning Edition and Fresh Air. On weekends, in addition to NPR weekend shows, WUNC broadcasts locally produced folk music programming. The longest-running continuously produced program offered by the station is Back Porch Music, a weekly folk and traditional music program. WUNC holds periodic on-air fundraisers seeking listener contributions. The station operates five full-service FM repeater stations, WFSS from Fayetteville on 91.9; WRQM from Rocky Mount on 90.9; WBUX from Buxton on 90.5; WUND-FM from Columbia on 88.9; and WUNW-FM from Welcome on 91.1. WUNC should not be confused with WXYC, which is UNC's student radio station. As of June 2022, WUNC has the fourth highest ratings of any station in the Raleigh–Durham radio market.

Digital and Lifelong Learning at the Friday Conference Center is a unit of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The department was created to serve the needs of nontraditional students through continuing education programs and services.

Southern Village is a 312-acre (1.3 km2) New Urbanism neighborhood located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Established in 1994, Southern Village includes 550 single-family homes, 375 townhomes and condominiums, 250 apartments, and 350,000 square feet (33,000 m2) of retail, office, and civic space. Southern Village was the top selling neighborhood in the Triangle market from 1999 to 2001. Nationally recognized as an example of smart growth, Southern Village has been featured in numerous publications including TIME, Better Homes & Gardens, and Builder magazines. Andres Duany is known as the founder of New Urbanism; his projects have been built all over the country and the world; his flagship development, Seaside, Florida, served as the too-quaint-to be-real set for The Truman Show. Duany and Zyberk actually came to Chapel Hill and spoke to the Town Council about the future of New Urbanism here, and their oration had a profound effect on D.R. Bryan. Bryan even took a trip to Pienza, Italy, to understand his concepts by visiting the source of them. He came back with his own vision, one he had the means to fulfill: Bryan became the architect and developer of Southern Village.
