WUNC (FM)

Digital and Lifelong Learning at the Friday Conference Center is a unit of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The department was created to serve the needs of nontraditional students through continuing education programs and services.

CHYDARU, unabbreviated name Chapel Hill Youth Development and Research Unit, was an experimental youth prison operated by the Institute of Government at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the North Carolina prison system. Built in 1945, it opened as a prison for youth under the age of 18 on May 1, 1964. The project was as an advancement in prison structure. It closed later in 1965 due to budget shortages. Sometime during the 1970s (presumably 1973) it housed the Bureau of School Services, which was operated by UNC. Later in 1975, it was repurposed to store radioactive waste. As of 1996, it became exclusively a radioactive storage-for-decay facility, where short-lived radioactive wastes are stored until they are no longer radioactive, at which point they are removed. It is inspected annually by the state government.

UNC Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is the home of the North Carolina Tar Heels men's and women's golf teams. It was originally built by Raleigh businessman A. E. Finley in 1949 to a design by George Cobb. Further holes were added in the 1980s along with renovation of the clubhouse. In 1999, renowned designer Tom Fazio remolded the course into its current par 72 layout with five sets of tees ranging from 4,981 to 7,220 yards in length.

The Appalachian League League Hall of Fame is an American baseball hall of fame which honors players, managers, and executives of the Appalachian League of Minor League Baseball for their accomplishments and/or contributions to the league in playing or administrative roles. The Hall of Fame inducted its first class of seven in 2019. Through the elections for 2020, a total of 38 people have been inducted.

The William Lanier Hunt Arboretum (over 100 acres) is an arboretum and natural area that forms part of the North Carolina Botanical Garden. It is operated by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Old Mason Farm Road, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The arboretum is private and not open to the public. Arboretum property was donated by William Lanier Hunt between the 1960s and the 1990s in order to protect natural areas and conserve woody plants of the southeastern United States. It includes several rhododendron bluffs in a gorge along Morgan Creek.

The North Carolina Botanical Garden (about 700 acres (2.8 km2), plus 210 acres (0.85 km2) of nature preserves) is a botanical garden operated by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The primary goal of the Garden is to research, catalog, and promote the native plant species of North Carolina.

The Order of Gimghoul is a collegiate secret society at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It is headquartered at Hippol (or Gimghoul) Castle in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Rocky Ridge Farm Historic District is a national historic district located at Chapel Hill, Orange County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 51 contributing buildings, 3 contributing sites, and 5 contributing structures in a predominantly residential section of Chapel Hill. The district developed in two periods, 1928-1930 and 1936–1960, and includes notable examples of Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and International Style architecture.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, with a boundary increase in 2008.

Gimghoul Neighborhood Historic District is a national historic district located at Chapel Hill, Orange County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 42 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure in a predominantly residential section of Chapel Hill. The district developed after 1924 as faculty housing and includes notable examples of Colonial Revival and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. The acreage was sold for development by the Order of Gimghoul to fund the construction of neighboring Hippol Castle. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Cary C. Boshamer Stadium is a baseball stadium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. It is the home of the North Carolina Tar Heels baseball team.

The University of North Carolina School of Law, sometimes referred to as Carolina Law, is the law school of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Established in 1845, it is among the oldest law schools in the United States and is the oldest law school in the state of North Carolina.
