Braceby and Sapperton

Ropsley and Humby is a civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. According to the 2001 Census it had a population of 808, increasing to 816 at the 2011 census. The parish consists of the small villages of Ropsley and Great Humby and the larger Little Humby, and the Deserted Medieval Villages of Overton Green and Ogarth. The northern edge of the parish is formed by the A52 Grantham to Boston road, and the eastern edge is largely coincident with the former line of the Roman road King Street between Stainfield and Anacaster. Part of this boundary is the ancient 'long hollow'. The parish is around 100m above sea level on the Lincolnshire limestone hills between Grantham and the Fens. The open country in the north of the parish is known as Ropsley MoorFor the purposes of local democracy, the parish is administered with adjacent Braceby and Sapperton.

On 1 April 1931 the parish was abolished and merged with Braceby to form "Braceby and Sapperton"."Causennis" is a Roman settlement site less than 1 mile (1.6 km) to the south of Sapperton on the East Glenn River, near its source. It was excavated between 1973 and 1981, and again 1984 to 1988, revealing stone buildings, iron-smelting furnaces and various artifacts. The Hall is a Grade II listed building and dates possibly from the 16th century, with 17th- and 18th-century alterations, and very minor 19th- and 20th-century alterations.St Nicholas parish church is Grade II listed and dedicated to Saint Nicholas. It dates from the 12th to the 15th century, with 19th-century alterations. The tower is 13th-century and there is a 12th-century font.The ecclesiastical parish is part of The North Beltisloe Group of parishes, in the Deanery of Beltisloe in the Diocese of Lincoln. From 2006 to 2011, the incumbent was The Revd Richard Ireson.

Haceby is a village in the civil parish of Newton and Haceby in the district of North Kesteven, Lincolnshire, England. It is 8 miles (13 km) east from Grantham, 8 miles south from Sleaford, and 1 mile (1.6 km) south from the A52 road. In 1921 the parish had a population of 51. On 1 April 1931 the parish was abolished and merged with Newton to form "Newton and Haceby".In the Domesday account the village is written as "Hazebi". The -by suffix is a Scandinavian word ending, for a place name based on a personal name. It is suggested that the origin is Farmstead or village of Haddr.Haceby consists of a small number of houses, farm buildings, and the Grade I listed redundant St Barbara's Church. Although dedicated to St Barbara, it is also attributed to St Margaret or to both saints. Earthworks to the west of the village are still visible as the remains of a Roman Villa. In 1818 a tessellated pavement and other Roman remains were discovered.The village's war memorial is found combined with that of Newton, in Newton's St Botolph Church.

Pickworth is a village and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish including Braceby and Sapperton was 243 at the 2011 census. It is situated approximately 8 miles (13 km) both east from Grantham and south from Sleaford. The 1086 Domesday Book lists Pickworth as having forty households and a church.The Church of England parish church of Saint Andrew is a Grade I listed building built of limestone and dating from the 12th century. The 14th-century rebuilding of the church is said to date from 1356, probably by the Pickworth family. Over the chancel arch are 14th-century wall paintings dated to about 1380.
