Dortmund-Mengede station

Dortmund-Nette/Oestrich station is located in the city of Dortmund in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is on a link (line 2191) between the Welver–Sterkrade railway and the Duisburg–Dortmund railway built for the opening of the line S2 of the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn. The line and station opened on 2 June 1991. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 6 station.The station is served by line S 2 (running between Dortmund and Recklinghausen or Essen), operating every 30 minutes during the day.It is also served by three bus routes operated by DSW21: 472 (Mengede - Groppenbruch - Brambauer + Mengede - Brauck, at 60-minute intervals), 477 (Mengede Markt + Bodelschwingh, at 60-minute intervals) and 478 (Mengede Markt + Obernette, at 60-minute intervals). It is also served by route 361 (Mengede + Dingen - Deininghausen - Castrop - Ev.Krh), operated by Straßenbahn Herne - Castrop-Rauxel GmbH at 60-minute intervals.

It is served by Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn line S 2 every 30 minutes. It offers connections to line U47 of the Dortmund Stadtbahn at 10-minute intervals on working days as well as two bus routes, 470 (Mengede – Kirchlinde – Lütgendortmund – Oespel (– 440 Barop) and 471 (Nette – Mengede – Oestrich – Bodelschwingh), both operated by Dortmunder Stadtwerke (DSW21) at 20-minute intervals on working days.

Gustav Knepper Power Station was a coal-fired power station in Dortmund-Mengede in Germany, close to Castrop-Rauxel. It started operation in 1971 and ended on December 23, 2014. The power station was built at the former Gustav Knepper coal mine. The first owner of the Power Station was the Gelsenkirchener Bergwerks AG. It was then taken over by the Bochumer Bergwerks AG. The power station was demolished on February 17, 2019.

Dortmund-Huckarde Nord (north) station is a passenger station in the Dortmund district of Huckarde in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 7 station.The station is located on the Duisburg-Ruhrort–Dortmund railway (Cologne-Minden Emscher Valley Railway) and has one platform. The Emscher Valley Railway through the station was initially opened mainly for the transport of coal to the port of Duisburg at the beginning of 1878. Passenger trains first stopped at Dortmund-Huckarde Nord (originally called Huckarde) in 1879 or 1892. In 1908, the station was equipped with an impressive building. The building was, with Dortmund-Kurl station, one of the last two station buildings built in Dortmund immediately before the First World War.Dortmund-Huckarde Nord station is still a stop on the RB 43 Regionalbahn services (Emschertalbahn). There is a restaurant in the station building. The train station is a registered monument on the list of monuments of Dortmund and part of the Industrial Heritage Trail.

Westfälisches Landestheater (WLT) is a theatre in Castrop-Rauxel, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. There are four theaters in Nordrhein-Westfalen: the Westfälische Landestheater, the Landestheater Detmold, the Landestheater Burghofbühne in Dinslaken, and the Rheinische Landestheater in Neuss. All of the WLT's premieres happen in the city Castrop-Rauxel. During the 2017/2018 show season, there were over 360 shows and about 85,000 audience members. Each show season, the WLT premieres up to 15 shows. It is located in the Europaplatz in Castrop-Rauxel.

The Henrichenburg boat lift facilitates a change in elevation of the Dortmund-Ems-Kanal in Waltrop-Oberwiese. The boat lift is part of the Waltrop Lock Park (Schleusenpark), which includes the old Henrichenburg boat lift built in 1899, a disused shaft lock from 1912, the new boat lift built in 1962 and a modern ship lock from 1989. The Henrichenburg boat lift is a popular destination for cyclists along the canals of the northern Ruhr Area.

It is now located on a new line completed between Dortmund-Dorstfeld and Germania on 3 June 1984 and electrified between Dortmund-Marten Süd station and Germania on 28 August 1987.It is served by Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn line S 4 at 30-minute intervals (15-minute intervals in the peak between Dortmund-Lütgendortmund and Unna-Königsborn). It is served by Dortmund Stadtbahn line U 44 (Dorstfeld – Kampstr – Borsigplatz – Westfalenhütte) at 10-minute intervals. It is also served by bus routes 462 (Germania – Lütgendortmund – Bövinghausen – Kirchlinde – Huckarde + Uni - Barop), every 20 minutes), 463 (Germania – Lütgendortmund – Volksgarten + Marten), every 60 minutes), 464 (Feldgarten – Lütgendortmund), every 30 minutes), 466 (Dorstfeld – Bandelstr), every 20 minutes) and 480 (Kirchlinde – Schwerin – Castrop-Rauxel - Ickern), every 20 minutes), operated by DSW21.
