Rhünda

The Rhünda Skull is a fossil human skull that was found just outside the village of Rhünda in North Hesse, Germany. It is dated to the Magdalenian, about 12,000 years old.

The Schwalm is a river in Hesse, Germany, right tributary of the Eder. It rises on the north side of the Vogelsberg Mountains. It flows north through Alsfeld, Schwalmstadt and Borken. The Schwalm flows into the Eder near Wabern, east of Fritzlar, after a total length of 97 km (60 mi). The main tributaries are the Efze, the Gilsa, the Grenff and the Antrift.

Felsberg is a town in the Schwalm-Eder district about 25 kilometres (16 miles) south of Kassel.

Goldbach is a river of Hesse, Germany. It is a tributary of the Ems near Gudensberg.

Böddiger Berg is a small vineyard next to village Böddiger, which is part of township Felsberg in the county of Schwalm-Eder-Kreis, Hesse, Germany. It is the northernmost vineyard in Hesse and was one of the first organic vineyards in Germany. Vine was already grown in this region during medieval times, however at some point in the early modern era the production ceased. In the 1950s the entrepreneur Georg Angersbach revived the wine production and laid the base for the current vineyard. Financial difficulties and harvest loss due to harsh weather conditions led to an interruption of the production after Angersbach's death in 1979. The property was taken over by the state of Hesse, which used it as a therapy center for drug addiction. In 1992 a local society formed to continue the vine growing tradition. It rented parts of the original vineyard from the state and started to produce organic wine.In the 1970s the vineyard also became the subject of a legal battle, when state authorities tried to shut down the wine production in this region in favour of the better known wine regions Southern Hesse. The authorities however lost in court and the wine production continued.

Ems is a river of Hesse, Germany. It flows into the Eder near Brunslar.

Kassel is one of the three Regierungsbezirke of Hesse, Germany, located in the north of the state. It was created in 1866 when Prussia annexed the Electorate of Hesse, forming part of the new Province of Hesse-Nassau. It was enlarged following the incorporation of the former Free State of Waldeck in 1929. From 1944 to 1945 it formed its own province: Kurhessen. After World War II it became part of Greater Hesse within the American Occupation Zone, the precursor to the modern state of Hesse. In its modern form it consists of 138 municipalities.

Mader Stein, or Maderstein, is a 265 m (869 ft) (NHN) high hill in North Hesse, Schwalm-Eder-Kreis, north-east of the village of Maden, which belongs to the town of Gudensberg.

Heiligenburg Castle (German: Burg Heiligenburg) is a castle on the hill of Heiligenberg in the district of Schwalm-Eder-Kreis, Hesse, Germany. Heilgenberg is a 393 m (1,289 ft) high hill close to the town of Felsberg-Gensungen in North Hesse. The hill is the remains of an extinct Miocene volcano, of which only the basalt that filled the neck of the volcano remains. The name of the hill stems from one of the oldest churches in Hesse. Extensive views of the surrounding area can be seen from the ramparts of the ruins, and so that it is a local tourist attraction. The entrance to the ruined castle and tower is free.

The Wotanstein (English: Wotan's stone), also known as 'Wodanstein' or earlier on 'Malstein', is a small megalith or menhir situated close to the village of Maden, Schwalm-Eder-Kreis, Hesse, Germany.

Altenbunslar is a small village in North Hesse, Germany. It is part of the town Felsberg.

Brunslar was a short-lived municipality in North Hessen, in the now-extinct district of Melsungen, Germany. It was created during the changing of district boundaries on 1 February 1971, when the independent communities of Altenbrunslar and Neuenbrunslar fused. On the 31. December 1971 the community of Wolfershausen joined the Brunslar municipality.At the beginning the municipality covered an area of 1271 ha, in which approx. 1300 people lived. As the village of Wolfershausen was integrated, the area grew to 1641 ha and the population grew to approx. 2000. On 1 January 1974 the municipality of Brunslar, together with the municipalities of Gensungen, Helmshausen, Hilgershausen und Rhünda were included into the town of Felsberg.
