Ems is a river of Hesse, Germany. It flows into the Eder near Brunslar.

Kassel is one of the three Regierungsbezirke of Hesse, Germany, located in the north of the state. It was created in 1866 when Prussia annexed the Electorate of Hesse, forming part of the new Province of Hesse-Nassau. It was enlarged following the incorporation of the former Free State of Waldeck in 1929. From 1944 to 1945 it formed its own province: Kurhessen. After World War II it became part of Greater Hesse within the American Occupation Zone, the precursor to the modern state of Hesse. In its modern form it consists of 138 municipalities.

Altenbunslar is a small village in North Hesse, Germany. It is part of the town Felsberg.

Brunslar was a short-lived municipality in North Hessen, in the now-extinct district of Melsungen, Germany. It was created during the changing of district boundaries on 1 February 1971, when the independent communities of Altenbrunslar and Neuenbrunslar fused. On the 31. December 1971 the community of Wolfershausen joined the Brunslar municipality.At the beginning the municipality covered an area of 1271 ha, in which approx. 1300 people lived. As the village of Wolfershausen was integrated, the area grew to 1641 ha and the population grew to approx. 2000. On 1 January 1974 the municipality of Brunslar, together with the municipalities of Gensungen, Helmshausen, Hilgershausen und Rhünda were included into the town of Felsberg.

Felsberg is a town in the Schwalm-Eder district about 25 kilometres (16 miles) south of Kassel.

Eppenberg Charterhouse (German: Kartause Eppenberg) was a charterhouse, or Carthusian monastery, now a ruin, situated on the Eppenberg next to the Heiligenberg in Gensungen, now part of Felsberg in Hesse, Germany. It was established to replace a failing monastery of Premonstratensian canonesses.

Heiligenburg Castle (German: Burg Heiligenburg) is a castle on the hill of Heiligenberg in the district of Schwalm-Eder-Kreis, Hesse, Germany. Heilgenberg is a 393 m (1,289 ft) high hill close to the town of Felsberg-Gensungen in North Hesse. The hill is the remains of an extinct Miocene volcano, of which only the basalt that filled the neck of the volcano remains. The name of the hill stems from one of the oldest churches in Hesse. Extensive views of the surrounding area can be seen from the ramparts of the ruins, and so that it is a local tourist attraction. The entrance to the ruined castle and tower is free.

The Riesenstein (English: giant's stone) is a megalith or menhir, which is situated close to the village of Wolfershausen. It is the largest megalith in the district of Schwalm-Eder-Kreis, Hesse, Germany.
