Islais Creek or Islais Creek Channel (previously known as Du Vrees Creek, Islais Channel and Islais Swamp) is a small creek in San Francisco, California. The name of the creek is derived from a Salinan Native American word "slay" or "islay", the name for the Prunus ilicifolia wild cherries. Around the time of the Gold Rush, the area became an industrial hub, and the condition of the creek worsened. After the devastating 1906 San Francisco earthquake, the city decided to reclaim the creek using earthquake debris, reducing the waterbody to its present size. Though much of Islais Creek has been converted to an underground culvert, remnants still exist today at both Glen Canyon Park and Third Street. Several community organizations are dedicated to preserve these remnants, as they are important wildlife habitats.

The EcoCenter at Heron's Head Park is an environmental education facility located at 32 Jennings Street in the Bayview–Hunters Point neighborhood of San Francisco, California.

India Basin is neighborhood in the southeastern part of San Francisco, California, considered to be part of the larger Bayview–Hunters Point neighborhood.

The Hunters Point Power Plant (HPPP) was a fossil fuel-fired power plant in the India Basin neighborhood of the Bayview-Hunters Point area covering southeastern San Francisco, California, operated by Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) from 1929 to 2006. After HPPP shut down, the last electric power plant in San Francisco was the Potrero Generating Station, which subsequently shut down in 2011.

Heron's Head Park is a public park in San Francisco, California; maintained by the San Francisco Port Authority. The park is about 22 acres in size. It is based in a wetland and is known for its bird watching. The park is home to The EcoCenter, an environmental education facility.

Cyclone Warehouse was a venue for Underground art located in the Butcher Town area of San Francisco, California, between Potrero Hill and Hunter's Point. It was known for hosting eclectic events, and formerly served as headquarters to a loose collective of artists and artisans. The space was founded in 1992 by Troy Shelton, Nicolas Desbons, Todd Martinez, Dan Hersey, Mark Reitman, Jason Price and Geordie Stevens, a group of students from CCAC and SFSU. They built the space primarily from found materials.

Marin Street station (also signed as Islais Creek) is a light rail station on the Muni Metro T Third Street line, located in the median of 3rd Street one block south of Cesar Chavez Street in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco, California. The station opened with the T Third Street line on April 7, 2007. It has two side platforms; the northbound platform is south of South Street, and the southbound platform north of Marin Street. The station is also served by bus route 15 plus the T Bus and 91 Owl bus routes, which provide service along the T Third Street line during the early morning and late night hours respectively when trains do not operate.

Evans station is a light rail station on the Muni Metro T Third Street line, located in the median of 3rd Street at Evans Avenue in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco, California. The station opened with the T Third Street line on January 13, 2007. It has two side platforms; the northbound platform is north of Evans Avenue, and the southbound platform south of Evans Avenue so that trains can pass through the intersection before the station stop. The station is also served by bus routes 15, 19, 44 and 54, plus the T Bus and 91 Owl bus routes, which provide service along the T Third Street line during the early morning and late night hours respectively when trains do not operate.

MV Cape Henry (T-AKR-5067) is a roll-on/roll-off cargo ship. She has two sister ships: MV Cape Hudson and MV Cape Horn.

Warm Water Cove is an outdoor, formerly industrialized picnic area in San Francisco, California, located near Pier 80 and the Dogpatch neighborhood.The park contains works of graffiti art, abandoned warehouses, and punk concerts. Free, all-ages shows are set up a few times every month by local Bay Area and touring musicians. Along with 924 Gilman Street, it is one of a few punk rock venues in the Bay Area where D.I.Y. music is performed.The park underwent some cleanup and renovation in 2007.

The Potrero Generating Station was a natural gas and diesel burning electricity generating station owned by Mirant and located on a 23-acre (9.3 ha) site in Potrero Point, San Francisco, California. The plant's primary power source was a 206 MW, natural gas burning steam turbine providing baseload power and referred to as "Unit 3". In addition, three 52 MW peaking power diesel generators provided additional power during times of highest consumption. Since the closure of the Hunters Point Power Plant in 2006, Potrero was the last remaining fossil fuel power plant within the confines of San Francisco, with capacity to provide approximately 1/3 of the City's peak electrical power needs. On Dec. 21, 2010, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom announced that the Potrero plant would cease operations by the end of the year. In a press conference announcing the closure, Newsom stated that "this is a monumental step towards cleaner air, environmental justice and our future of renewable energy and healthier communities." The plant was shut down in January 2011, and since 2012, the property is being considered for redevelopment. City officials approved plans in 2020.
