The former Ashford & Sons factory in Birmingham, England is a Grade II* listed building in Arts & Crafts style.The factory, at 16-18 Great Hampton Street in the city's Jewellery Quarter, in the Hockley district, was designed by local architect Arthur McKewan and completed in 1912.It was given Grade II* listed status in 1982, protecting it from unauthorised development or deletion. The list entry describes it as: A particularly sensitive formal elevation to a jewellery works, containing Birmingham Arts and Crafts with Edwardian Baroque details all executed to a very high standard. In June 2016, plans to convert the then-empty building into 64 one-bedroom, 77 two-bedroom and six three-bedroom residential apartments were announced.

The Jewellery Quarter is an area of central Birmingham, England, in the north-western area of Birmingham City Centre, with a population of 19,000 in a 1.07-square-kilometre (264-acre) area.The Jewellery Quarter is Europe's largest concentration of businesses involved in the jewellery trade, which produces 40% of all the jewellery made in the UK. It is also home to the world's largest Assay Office, which hallmarks around 12 million items a year. Historically the Jewellery Quarter has been the birthplace of many pioneering advancements in industrial technology. At its peak in the early 1900s the Jewellery Quarter employed over 30,000 people, however due to foreign competition and lack of demand, the industry declined throughout the 20th century. The area was then transformed into an urban village and hub for creative businesses, whilst maintaining its urban fabric. Its historical importance led to numerous conservation schemes and it is an Anchor Point of the European Route of Industrial Heritage.

Hockley Tunnels are two tunnels used by the railway and tram in Hockley, Birmingham, England. Tunnel No. 1 is 136 yards (124 m) long and Tunnel No. 2 is 160 yards (150 m) long.

St. Paul's Gallery is a commercial art gallery, the largest in the United Kingdom outside London. It is in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham, England. The gallery deals in two main fields: original album art the world's largest collection of signed album cover fine art, including signed cover images from The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Queen and fine art (where its holdings include works from Picasso and Dalí to Henry Moore Bridget Riley). St Paul's Gallery also hosts a programme of visiting exhibitions. It was conceived by Symon Bland and opened in February 2003 in former industrial premises near St Paul's Square.

St George in the Fields, Hockley is a former Church of England parish church in Birmingham. Built in 1822, it was enlarged in the late 19th century and demolished in 1961. The tomb of architect Thomas Rickman remains a listed structure on the site.

The Museum of the Jewellery Quarter is a museum at 75-79 Vyse Street in Hockley, Birmingham, England. It is one of the nine museums run by the Birmingham Museums Trust, the largest independent museums trust in the United Kingdom.In 2008, the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter was named as the third best free tourist attraction in Europe by TripAdvisor, behind the Pantheon in Rome and the National Gallery in London. However an entry charge has since been introduced.

Smith and Pepper was a jewellery manufacturing firm in Birmingham, England, which traded between 1899 and 1981. The factory is now the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter.

St Paul's tram stop is a tram stop serving nearby St Paul's Square, Birmingham, England. It was opened on 31 May 1999 on West Midlands Metro Line 1. The stop is a short distance west of Birmingham Snow Hill station, which is visible from the stop. Pedestrian access is via Constitution Hill. The stop sits in the shadow of Livery Street, which, at this point, is on a blue-brick lined embankment, preventing direct access to the square. Livery Street then crosses the tram and railway lines, at a very acute angle, at the Wolverhampton end of the stop. The Birmingham to Worcester railway line runs alongside, but the stop is served only by trams, as there are no railway platforms.

In 2009, it became the first Indian restaurant in the United Kingdom to be selected as the "Best Local Restaurant" by Gordon Ramsay on Channel 4's The F Word.

The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists or RBSA is an art society, based in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham, England, where it owns and operates an art gallery, the RBSA Gallery, on Brook Street, just off St Paul's Square. It is both a registered charity, and a registered company (no. 122616).

@ A. E. Harris was a theatre space located within the working metal fabricators' factory A E Harris, in the Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham, England. It was the home of the experimental Stan's Cafe theatre company.The venue was established in 2008 by Stan's Cafe for their work Of All The People In All The World. The collaboration won an Arts & Business award in 2009 and in 2010 the company secured funding from the National Lottery to extend their lease and improve the venue's facilities. Over the following year performances by Birmingham Rep, the Birmingham Opera Company and Kindle Theatre were held in the space, as well as further performances by Stan's Cafe.The venue originally hosted five performance spaces of varying sizes named after the five continents, but in 2013 economic expansion caused hosts A. E. Harris to take back the four largest to boost their manufacturing capacity, with the venue retaining Australia as a 50-seat performance space.The site has now been redeveloped and the venue no longer exists. The manufacturing firm AE Harris and Co have moved to a new site in West Bromwich.
