India Hook is a census-designated place (CDP) in York County, South Carolina, United States. The majority of India Hook is annexed into the city of Rock Hill, but as of 2010 India Hook is still considered to be a CDP. It is one of the three communities located on Lake Wylie. The population was 2,051 at the 2010 census.

Tega Cay is a planned city in York County, South Carolina, United States, located west of Fort Mill and north of Rock Hill. It is a suburb of Charlotte, North Carolina. The population was recorded at 12,832 as of the 2020 U.S. Census. Tega Cay is located on a peninsula along Lake Wylie, twenty miles south of Charlotte. The name Tega Cay allegedly comes from an unknown Polynesian language and means "Beautiful Peninsula", however, this is unconfirmed.

The Catawba Nuclear Station is a nuclear power plant located on a 391-acre (158 ha) peninsula, called "Concord Peninsula", that reaches out into Lake Wylie, in York, South Carolina, US. Catawba utilizes a pair of Westinghouse four-loop pressurized water reactors.As a part of the Megatons to Megawatts Program Catawba was one of the plants that received and tested 4 fuel assemblies containing MOX fuel with the plutonium supplied from old weapons programs. Because concerns of nuclear proliferation are greater with fuel containing plutonium, special precautions and added security were used around the new fuel. The four test assemblies did not perform as expected and at present those plans are shelved.

Rock Hill/York County Airport (IATA: RKH, ICAO: KUZA, FAA LID: UZA) is a general aviation and reliever airport of Charlotte-Douglas International Airport located 5 miles (7 km) from the central business district of Rock Hill, in York County, South Carolina, United States. It is owned and operated by the City of Rock Hill, but York County is also represented on the Airport Commission.The airport was originally referred to as Bryant Field, after South Carolina Aviation Hall of Fame inductee Robert E. Bryant, but the name has since been dropped to avoid confusion with Bryant Field in California. Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, Rock Hill/York County Airport is assigned UZA by the FAA and RKH by the IATA.

WRHI is a news/talk radio station in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It broadcasts on AM frequency 1340 kHz with a simulcast on 100.1 FM (via translator W261CY) and is under ownership of OTS Media Group. Its studios and transmitter are both located separately in Rock Hill.

Ebenezer Academy is a historic school building located at Rock Hill, South Carolina. It was built about 1860, and is a one-story, rectangular brick structure of simple design. The school was originally associated with Ebenezer Presbyterian Church until Rock Hill public schools were established about 1888 and was leased to York County for an elementary school. The school continued until 1950 when it was deeded back to the church. It is the oldest known school building standing in York County.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

Newport is a census-designated place in York County, South Carolina. Most of Newport is annexed into the city of Rock Hill, while parts are still located in unincorporated York County, but Newport is still considered to be a census-designated place. The census of 2010 showed the population to be 4,136. During the 2000 Census, the population was 4,033.

Baxter Village is a planned community and census-designated place (CDP) in York County, South Carolina, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census which showed a population of 4,217.The CDP is in northeastern York County. It is bordered to the east by the city of Fort Mill, to the west by Tega Cay, and to the south by unincorporated Riverview. South Carolina Highway 160 forms the northeast border of the CDP; the highway leads southeast into Fort Mill and northwest 4 miles (6 km) into the western outskirts of Charlotte, North Carolina. Interstate 77 runs along the east side of Baxter Village, with access via Exit 85 to SC 160. I-77 leads north 16 miles (26 km) to the center of Charlotte and south 76 miles (122 km) to Columbia.

Riverview is a census-designated place (CDP) in York County, South Carolina, United States, located southwest of Fort Mill along the Catawba River. The population was 708 at the 2000 census.
