Gosenbach

Creußen is a town in the district of Bayreuth in Bavaria, Germany. It is situated on the Red Main river, 13 km southeast of Bayreuth. Creußen is famous for its stoneware beer steins. Creußen is the starting point of the Red Main branch of the Main-Radweg bicycle path which stretches about 600 km along the Main until the mouth into the Rhine.

The Ökologisch-Botanischer Garten der Universität Bayreuth (16 hectares) is a botanical garden maintained by the University of Bayreuth. It is located at Universitätsstraße 30, Bayreuth, Bavaria, Germany, and open daily except Saturday. The garden was founded in 1978 with a focus on ecology and environmental field research and teaching. It now contains over 10,000 plant species from around the world, organized into four major sections: Crop garden (1 hectare) Ecology experimental plots (8 hectares) with lysimeter and groundwater basins. Greenhouses (about 8000 m² total) containing woodland and grass plants, aquarium plants, succulents, and plants of tropical mountains and cloud forests. Geographic sections - plants from the Americas, Asia, and Europe.The university also maintains a herbarium, established in 2001, which contains approximately 25,000 documents focusing on seed plants, but also with several thousand cryptogams, especially mosses, as well as a seed collection and library.

The University of Bayreuth (originally called in German Universität Bayreuth) is a public research university located in Bayreuth, Germany. It is one of the youngest German universities. It is broadly organized into seven undergraduate and graduate faculties, with each faculty defining its own admission standards and academic programs in near autonomy. The university offers several interdisciplinary courses such as Global Change Ecology, Theatre and Media Studies, and Health Economics. It is a member of the Elite Network of Bavaria (Elitenetzwerk Bayern), an educational policy concept of Bavaria for the promotion of gifted pupils and students in the higher education sector.

The Graf-Münster-Gymnasium is the largest high school in Bayreuth. The school currently has 1400 students and was founded in 1833. The school was named after Count (Graf) Georg zu Münster (1776–1844), a local paleontologist.

The Hermitage or Eremitage (in German) is a palace complex and garden in Bayreuth, Germany. The museum was created from a historical park with fountains, constructed in 1715. Notable buildings include the Old Palace, a New Castle with sun temple, and other smaller buildings.

The Red Main (German: Roter Main or Rotmain) is a river in southern Germany. It is the southern, left headstream of the river Main. It rises in the hills of Franconian Switzerland, near Haag and flows generally northwest through the towns Creußen, Bayreuth, Heinersreuth and Neudrossenfeld. It merges with the White Main near Kulmbach to form the Main. The Red Main is 72 kilometres (45 mi) long and descends a total of 283 metres (928 ft). The waters of the Red Main flow through a region of clayey soils, which is why the river carries a lot of suspended solids, especially after rainfall, and acquires a red-brown colour, hence the name Red Main.
