Ölschnitz (Red Main)

Emtmannsberg is a municipality in the district of Bayreuth in Upper Franconia in Bavaria, Germany. The Ölschnitz river begins near Emtmannsberg-Unterölschnitz at the confluence of the Laimbach and Bieberswöhrbach.

The Hermitage or Eremitage (in German) is a palace complex and garden in Bayreuth, Germany. The museum was created from a historical park with fountains, constructed in 1715. Notable buildings include the Old Palace, a New Castle with sun temple, and other smaller buildings.

The old palace (German: das alte Schloß) is one of the two castles within the historic Hermitage Park to the east of the St. Johannis district of the German city of Bayreuth. The building should not be confused with the Old Palace in the city center.

Warme Steinach is a river of Bavaria, Germany. It flows into the Red Main east of Bayreuth.

The Benkersandstein (German for Benker Sandstone) is a geologic formation in Germany. It preserves fossils dating back to the Late Triassic (Carnian) period. Fossil theropod tracks have been reported from the formation.

The Ökologisch-Botanischer Garten der Universität Bayreuth (16 hectares) is a botanical garden maintained by the University of Bayreuth. It is located at Universitätsstraße 30, Bayreuth, Bavaria, Germany, and open daily except Saturday. The garden was founded in 1978 with a focus on ecology and environmental field research and teaching. It now contains over 10,000 plant species from around the world, organized into four major sections: Crop garden (1 hectare) Ecology experimental plots (8 hectares) with lysimeter and groundwater basins. Greenhouses (about 8000 m² total) containing woodland and grass plants, aquarium plants, succulents, and plants of tropical mountains and cloud forests. Geographic sections - plants from the Americas, Asia, and Europe.The university also maintains a herbarium, established in 2001, which contains approximately 25,000 documents focusing on seed plants, but also with several thousand cryptogams, especially mosses, as well as a seed collection and library.

The University of Bayreuth (originally called in German Universität Bayreuth) is a public research university located in Bayreuth, Germany. It is one of the youngest German universities. It is broadly organized into seven undergraduate and graduate faculties, with each faculty defining its own admission standards and academic programs in near autonomy. The university offers several interdisciplinary courses such as Global Change Ecology, Theatre and Media Studies, and Health Economics. It is a member of the Elite Network of Bavaria (Elitenetzwerk Bayern), an educational policy concept of Bavaria for the promotion of gifted pupils and students in the higher education sector.

The Graf-Münster-Gymnasium is the largest high school in Bayreuth. The school currently has 1400 students and was founded in 1833. The school was named after Count (Graf) Georg zu Münster (1776–1844), a local paleontologist.

The Ordenskirche St. Georgen or Sophienkirche is a church in the Sankt Georgen suburb of Bayreuth, a suburb which had been founded by George William, Margrave of Brandenburg-Bayreuth as hereditary prince of the Principality of Bayreuth. The church's foundation stone was laid in 1705. Stone was supplied from twenty nearby and distant quarries and in 1709 the church's outer shell was completed. As George William had hoped, the church was consecrated on the feast day of his name-saint George, 23 April 1711, though some work had to be carried out after consecration. Its first name derived from its dedication to Hagia Sophia, referencing the name of George William's wife Sophia. Its second name derives from the fact that it was the church for the Ordre de la Sincérité and its successor the Order of the Red Eagle.

The Hans-Walter-Wild-Stadion is a multi-purpose stadium in Bayreuth, Germany. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of SpVgg Bayreuth. The stadium is able to hold 21,500 people. The stadium opened in 1967 and was named after then-mayor Hans Walter Wild, who was the city's longest-serving Lord Mayor (Oberbürgermeister), serving a total of 30 years from 1958 to 1988. Pop superstar Michael Jackson performed during his Dangerous World Tour on September 2, 1992 in front of 32,000 people.

The Oberfrankenhalle is a multi-purpose indoor sporting arena that is located in Bayreuth, Germany. It is a part of the Bayreuth Sports Park, which also includes the Hans-Walter-Wild-Stadion football stadium, an ice rink, and an indoor pool. The arena is mainly used to host basketball, handball, and volleyball games, boxing matches, concerts and congresses. The seating capacity of the arena for basketball games is 4,000.

Städtisches Kunsteisstadion is an arena in Bayreuth, Germany. It is primarily used for ice hockey. Kunsteisstadion opened in 1976 and holds 4,730 people.
