The Rhubarb Triangle is a 9-square-mile (23 km2) area of West Yorkshire, England between Wakefield, Morley, and Rothwell famous for producing early forced rhubarb. It includes Kirkhamgate, East Ardsley, Stanley, Lofthouse and Carlton. The Rhubarb Triangle was originally much bigger, covering an area between Leeds, Bradford and Wakefield. From the 1900s to 1930s, the rhubarb industry expanded and at its peak covered an area of about 30 square miles (78 km2).Rhubarb is native to Siberia and thrives in the wet cold winters in Yorkshire. West Yorkshire once produced 90% of the world's winter forced rhubarb from the forcing sheds that were common across the fields there.In 2010, Yorkshire Forced Rhubarb was awarded Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status by the European Commission’s Protected Food Name scheme after being recommended by Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).

Robin Hood is a village in the City of Leeds in West Yorkshire, England. It is close to the City of Wakefield boundary and is situated between Leeds and Wakefield as well as being close to Rothwell and Lofthouse. It forms part of the Ardsley and Robin Hood ward of Leeds City Council and the Morley and Outwood parliamentary constituency. The centre of Robin Hood is believed to be the Halfway House public house, situated at the main junction of the A61 and A654. The public house gained its name from its location being half-way between Leeds and Wakefield, located exactly 4 miles in either direction on the A61. It used to be known as "The Old Halfway House" and a public house or inn has been located on that site for centuries.

Rothwell had a population of 21,010 in the 2001 census, and the Rothwell ward has an estimated population of 32,365. At the 2011 census the ward had a population of 20,354. The town is close to the A1/M1 link road and the Stourton park and ride. The nearest railway station is Woodlesford.

The name 'Rodillian' is derived from the name that was given to former pupils of the Rothwell Grammar School.

Lofthouse is a village between the cities of Wakefield and Leeds in West Yorkshire, England. The village falls within the Ardsley and Robin Hood ward of the City of Leeds Council. It is in the City of Leeds metropolitan borough but with a Wakefield postal address (WF3). It is mentioned as Locthuse, also as Loftose in the 1086 Domesday Book.Lofthouse has good road connections to its nearby boroughs as well as to the rest of Northern England. It can be found on the main A61 Leeds-Wakefield road and off junction 29 of the M62 and junction 42 of the M1, known locally as the Lofthouse interchange. Lofthouse Gate and Outwood are neighbouring villages on the A61 towards Wakefield and are in the Wakefield Metropolitan Area. Towards Leeds there is the village of Robin Hood. Lofthouse Children's Centre is located in the Rodillian Academy grounds. The old co-operative building, just off the main A61 on Co-operative Street, is now occupied by Chill Beauty. Lofthouse is often erroneously believed to be the scene of the Lofthouse Colliery disaster, which took place in 1973. The disaster actually took place beneath a field near the village of Kirkhamgate, where a new coalface was being worked.

Newmarket Stadium was a proposed community stadium in Wakefield, which was to be leased to Wakefield Trinity in Stanley, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England. It would have replaced Belle Vue which has been home to the rugby league club for over 100 years.Wakefield Trinity were hoping to move into the stadium for the start of the 2015 season but work had not started on the project due to the conditions for development, implemented by the Secretary of State following a public inquiry, not being met. The conditions required that 60,000 square metres of warehousing had to be built out and occupied, while the trust responsible for the management of the stadium also had to provide funding towards the build costThe development failed to get off the ground which led to Wakefield Trinity working with Wakefield Council to find a resolution and began redeveloping their current home at Belle Vue.

Stanley is a village in the Metropolitan Borough of Wakefield in West Yorkshire, England. It is about 2.5 miles (4.0 km) north-east of Wakefield city centre. Stanley was an Urban District in the West Riding of Yorkshire before 1974, being made up the four electoral wards of Lake Lock, Outwood, Stanley and Wrenthorpe. The Lofthouse / Stanley area of West Yorkshire has a combined population of 22,947. The ward remaining at the 2011 Census was called Stanley and Outwood East. The population of this ward at the 2011 Census was 15,314.
