Pipemakers Park is located in the inner western suburbs of Melbourne in the city of Maribyrnong, on the western bank of the Maribyrnong River near Highpoint Shopping Centre. The park was created on the site of a former pipe works and meat preserving company, and retains historic buildings adapted to a museum (Melbourne's Living Museum of the West). and interpreted industrial ruins.The park was formerly managed by Parks Victoria but in 2014, Maribyrnong City Council took over management of this and the adjacent Burndap Park and Frog Hollow.

Melbourne's Living Museum of the West is an ecomuseum and community social history museum in Melbourne's western suburb of Maribyrnong. It was established as part of Victoria's sesquicentenary (150 year anniversary) in 1984, along with the Children's Museum and the Museum of Chinese Australian History.

Students enrol based on local residence and/or in the selective sports academy. The school offers an accelerated learning program to prospective students who demonstrate academic ability. It is located on River Street, Maribyrnong (formerly Maidstone until this part of Maidstone was rezoned in the 1990s). Founded in 1958, as Maribyrnong High School, a state-of-the-art sports complex opened on 22 June 2010.

Flemington Racecourse railway station is located on the Flemington Racecourse line in Victoria, Australia. It serves Flemington Racecourse in the suburb of Flemington opening on 28 February 1861.The station is only open on race days and during special events at Flemington Racecourse.

Footscray Park is one of the largest and most intact examples of an Edwardian park in Australia. The 15-hectare park is located on the south bank of the Maribyrnong River in Footscray in Victoria. It is classified as a heritage place on the Victorian Heritage Register for its aesthetic, horticultural and social significance to the State of Victoria and was the first gardens to be placed on the register. The park is noted for its botanical collection, ornamental ponds and garden structures.The park is managed both by the Maribyrnong City Council and Parks Victoria.

The largest and most flexible indoor/outdoor venue space in Melbourne the Showgrounds is the home of the annual Melbourne Royal Show, as well as major exhibitions, trade shows, and music concerts, including the Supanova Pop Culture Expo, the Caravan & Camping Touring Supershow and MotoExpo. The venue has also been the selected site for TV and film production and is the current filming location for MasterChef Australia. It has previously been used for large music festivals – as of 2010, it plays host to Stereosonic until the Festivals end in 2015. It also was used on the last show on The Police's Synchronicity Tour, their last world tour, before they re-united briefly to play three concerts for the Amnesty International A Conspiracy of Hope Tour and reuniting in the studio.

Gilmore College for Girls was founded in 1925 as the Footscray Domestic Arts School in response to the vast demand for employment in the Domestic Arts. Aspirations for young women have progressed greatly over the decades and Gilmore College changed and developed continually. Consequently, the name of the College has changed over the decades to reflect the rapid progress in girls’ education. In 1996 the college became Gilmore College in recognition of Dame Mary Gilmore. Gilmore College for Girls ran the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) from year 7 to 10. In 2020, Gilmore College for Girls merged with Footscray City College to become "Footscray High School", retaining both the Barkly Street and Kinnear Street campuses and adding a 3rd campus at Pilgrim Street in 2021.

Maidstone is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 8 km (5.0 mi) north-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located with the City of Maribyrnong local government area. Maidstone recorded a population of 9,389 at the 2021 census.The suburb predominantly consists of residential areas. A large chunk of the north-western corner encompasses a private golf club and there is a small industrial zone in the centre. Maidstone is bounded by Suffolk Street to the south, Ashley Street to the west, along Summerhill Road and Rosamond Road to the east, and along Williamson Road and Rosamond Road to the north and north-east.
