The aim of the Montcada Municipal Museum (Catalan: Museu Municipal de Montcada), founded in 1982 and housed in the old Casa de la Vila de Montcada i Reixac (Vallès Occidental) since 1987, aims to recover, conserve and protect local heritage. Among its collection, it is worth mentioning the findings from the Iberian settlement of Les Maleses, in the Serralada de Marina Natural Park. The museum also has a permanent exhibition divided into five areas: the environment, mineralogy and palaeontology; prehistory; the Iberian world; medieval and modern Montcada; and, finally, contemporary Montcada. The Museum is part of the Barcelona Provincial Council Local Museum Network.

Ripollet is a municipality in the comarca of the Vallès Occidental in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the left bank of the Ripoll river. The town is served by the AP-7, C-58 and C-33 highways, the N-150 road and a RENFE railway line.

The Molí d'en Rata Heritage Interpretation Centre (Catalan: Centre d'Interpretació del Patrimoni Molí d'en Rata), in Ripollet (Vallès Occidental), is a municipal facility dedicated to research into and the conservation, management and diffusion of the heritage of Ripollet. It encompasses two areas: the Molí d'en Rata (En Rata mill), one of El Vallès Occidental’s last operational flour mills, and the Heritage Interpretation Centre, a newly constructed building with two exhibition rooms: one for the permanent exhibition and the other for temporary exhibitions. It is part of the Barcelona Provincial Council Local Museum Network.

The Camp de Tir Olímpic de Mollet is a firing range located in Mollet del Vallès, Catalonia, Spain. Constructed between June 1990 and April 1992 and located near the Academy of the Police of Catalonia, it hosted the shooting and the shooting part of the modern pentathlon competitions for the 1992 Summer Olympics. The competition area covered 342,000 m2 (3,680,000 sq ft).

Martorelles is a municipality in the province of Barcelona and autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. It covers 3.6 square kilometres (1.4 sq mi). Its population in 2014 was 4,783.It was in Martorelles that motorcycle ace Ricardo Tormo crashed and shattered his leg in 1984 during practice for a race, ending his career. A car entered the unrestricted area in a closed-off industrial estate where his Derbi team was practising, and Tormo ran into it.

Vallbona is a neighbourhood in the Nou Barris district of Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain), in the city's northern outskirts. It covers an area of 0.6 square kilometres (0.23 sq mi), in a hilly region just south of Montcada, between on one side the railway lines running alongside the Besòs river, and on the other side the motorways running along the valley which separate the village from the rest of Barcelona. It is connected to Torre Baró and the rest of the Nou Barris district by a bridge spanning the motorways.Vallbona was a small village until the middle of the twentieth century when most of it was demolished, the Rec Comtal canal mostly covered over, and high-density housing built. The motorways were built starting in the 1960s.Its population in 2013 was 1,330, giving a population density of 2,224 per km2.

Polinyà is a municipality in the province of Barcelona and autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. The municipality covers an area of 8.8 square kilometres (3.4 sq mi) and the population in 2014 was 8,238.

Torre del Baró is a Rodalies de Catalunya station in the Nou Barris district of Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain. It was opened in the 1970s and, since 2003, interconnected with the Barcelona Metro station Torre Baró-Vallbona. It is served by Barcelona commuter rail lines R3, R4 and R7 as well as regional line R12.

Barcelona Metro line 11 is a light metro line with short trains in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Line 11, coloured light green and currently known as Trinitat Nova – Can Cuiàs, is a recently built line in the Barcelona Metro network, operated by TMB, and part of the ATM fare-integrated transport network in the Barcelona. It is unusual in that it is an underground light rail line instead of a conventional metro line.

Can Cuiàs is the name of a station in the Barcelona Metro network, and currently the underground light-rail L11's western terminus (as of 2007), before a proposed extension into UAB and Ripollet is complete. As the other stations in the line, it was opened in 2003. It's named after a neighbourhood of Montcada i Reixac, a hilly municipality in the northern half of the metropolitan area of Barcelona. It has two accesses, one on Carrer Circumval·lació and another one on Carrer de Les Fustes.

The Besòs (Catalan pronunciation: [bəˈzɔs]; Spanish: Besós) is a river flowing through Catalonia, Spain, formed by the confluence of the Mogent and Congost rivers. It ends in the Mediterranean. Its full watershed includes the following cities: Aiguafreda, La Garriga, Sant Fost de Campsantelles, Canovelles, Granollers, Montmeló, Mollet del Vallès, Montcada i Reixac, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Barcelona and Sant Adrià de Besòs. Due to its Mediterranean climate, the river can have extreme discrepancies in flow depending on the weather.
