Sun Prairie West High School (SPWHS) is a high school in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, United States. It is one of two high schools in the Sun Prairie Area School District, the other being Sun Prairie East High School. During the 2022-2023 school year, there were 1,345 students at Sun Prairie West High School. SPWHS is a WIAA Division 1 school and is a member of the Big Eight athletic conference in all sports except for football, in which it is a WIAA Division 2 school and a member of the Badger Conference.In the summer of 2010, Sun Prairie High School moved to a new building in the southeast part of town. The former school became a combined 8th and 9th grade upper middle school and was named Cardinal Heights Upper Middle School. Cardinal Heights later became a 6th-8th grade middle school and was renamed to Central Heights Middle School. In 2022, the school split into 2 high schools, Sun Prairie West High School and Sun Prairie East High School, with SPWHS getting a new campus on Ironwood Drive and SPEHS keeping the Grove Street Campus. The school was opened in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 28, 2022, with Wisconsin governor Tony Evers in attendance. The construction of SPWHS was the culmination of an effort that started in 2019 with a $164,000,000 referendum.

WXXM (92.1 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, and serving the Madison metropolitan area. The station is owned and operated by iHeartMedia, and broadcasts an adult hits radio format, switching to Christmas music for much of November and December. The station is noted for its runs as an alternative rock station during the 1980s and 1990s and as a progressive talk station in the 2000s and 2010s. WXXM's studios and offices are located on Fish Hatchery Road in the Madison suburb of Fitchburg, and has a transmitter located off Brooks Drive in Sun Prairie.

The Adam and Mary Smith House was built in c.1872 by Adam Smith, who came to do shingle work on the Wisconsin State Capitol decades earlier. The home was done in Italianate style. It is located in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.The house was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998. It is a two-story cross-gable main section with a two-story rear-gabled wing, built of load-bearing brick masonry walls. Italianate aspects include its scrolled brackets, limestone sills supported by brackets, brick dentil molding below the cornice, wood dentil molding above. It was built on a limestone ashlar foundation. The front facade's main feature is a one-story porch with a flat roof, single and triple columns, and scrolled brackets.The house was renovated and relocated in 2004 a short distance to the east and now sits prominently in the "town square" of a new urbanism neighborhood called Smith's Crossing.

Windsor is a village and former town in Dane County, Wisconsin. The population was 8,754 at the time of the 2020 census. The communities of Lake Windsor, Morrisonville, and Token Creek are located within the village. Windsor voted to incorporate as a village on November 3, 2015; prior to its incorporation, it was a town, and a portion of the town was a census-designated place. Windsor is a part of the Census Bureau's Madison metropolitan statistical area. A portion of the former town was part of a disputed annexation by the Village of DeForest. In July 2004, the village and town reached a settlement in which part of the disputed area would be annexed by the village and part would remain with the town. In addition, the town and village agreed to exchange other less populated land.

DeForest Area High School is a public high school in DeForest, Wisconsin. Part of the DeForest Area School District, the school serves students in grades 9–12. DeForest Area High School serves more than 1,000 students from the communities of DeForest, Windsor, and parts of Hampden, Leeds, Bristol, Burke, Vienna and portions of Madison and Sun Prairie. The school's colors are purple and gold.

Truax Field Air National Guard Base (IATA: MSN, ICAO: KMSN, FAA LID: MSN), also known as Truax Field, is a military facility located at Dane County Regional Airport. It is located five miles (8 km) northeast of the center of Madison, a city in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States. Truax Field was named in honor of Wisconsin native Lieutenant Thomas L. Truax, who was killed in a P-40 training accident in November 1941. The airport is home to both the Wisconsin Army National Guard and the Wisconsin Air National Guard.

DeForest ( də-FOR-ist) is a village in Dane County, Wisconsin, United States, along the Yahara River. The population was 10,811 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Madison Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The Dr. Charles G. Crosse House is a historic home built circa 1865 and located at 133 W. Main Street in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.Charles G. Crosse moved to Sun Prairie in 1860 and was instrumental in its development. He was the city's doctor and operated a drugstore. Dr. Crosse and his son Charles S. Crosse published a newspaper called The Countryman, which documented the daily activity of the area. He served as village president, on the school board, and as a state legislator.Shortly after returning from his service as a physician in the Civil War, Crosse built the house that is the subject of this article. The house is 1.5 stories, with a T-shaped floor plan. The style is Carpenter Gothic, clearly marked by the ornate scroll-sawn vergeboards on the gable end, and the decorations on the posts that support the broad front porch. The front door contains a round-topped window, and the tall multi-paned window in the dormer above has a similar round top. On each side of the front door is a French door which opens onto the porch. From the center of the house rises a chimney topped with a brick arch.Crosse lived in the house until he died in 1908. His family owned the house until 1919. Later it was made into rental units, and was losing its integrity by 1976. In that year a group of preservation-minded citizens got together and began restoring it.

Madison Area Technical College (Madison College) is a public technical and community college based in Madison, Wisconsin. It serves students in parts of 12 counties in south-central Wisconsin: Adams, Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Juneau, Marquette, Richland, Rock, and Sauk. Campus locations include several throughout the city of Madison and four regional sites in the cities of Reedsburg, Watertown, Fort Atkinson, and Portage.It is among the largest of the 16 schools in the Wisconsin Technical College System. Madison College had a total enrollment of 30,065 in the 2019 - 2020 academic year. According to the 2019 Graduate Report, 92% of students found a job within six months of graduation.
