Takatsuki

On 18 June 2018, around 7:58 a.m. Japan Standard Time, an earthquake measuring 5.6 Mw on the moment magnitude scale (preliminary 5.5 Mw) struck in northern Osaka Prefecture, Japan. The earthquake's epicenter was near Takatsuki and occurred at a depth of approximately 13 kilometres (8.1 mi). The Japan Meteorological Agency reported a magnitude of 6.1 Mj and an intensity of 6 lower on the shindo scale.Shaking from the earthquake was felt strongly in the prefecture and the nearby metropolitan areas of Osaka and Kyoto, temporarily disrupting electrical and gas service to 170,000 homes and buildings. The earthquake struck during rush hour, disrupting train services for several hours, and also damaged water pipes and hundreds of homes. Four people were killed, 15 serious injuries were reported, and 419 people had minor injuries.

It is operated by the private transportation company Hankyu Railway. It is one of the main train stations of the city along with Takatsuki Station on the JR Kyoto Line.

Osaka Medical College (大阪医科大学, Ōsaka ika daigaku) is a private university in Takatsuki, Osaka, Japan. The precursor of the school was founded in 1927, and it was chartered as a university in 1946. In 2021, it was renamed Osaka Medical and Pharmaceutical University (大阪医科薬科大学, Ōsaka ika yakka daigaku) due to the integration with the Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The Kosobe Conservatory (古曽部温室, Kosobe Onshitsu) was a botanical garden that forms part of the Experimental Farm, Kyoto University (京都大学大学院 農学研究科附属農場), located at 2-30 Kosobe, Takatsuki, Osaka, Japan.The conservatory was established in January 1929 to educate undergraduate and graduate students, and to advance horticultural research in ornamental plants of tropical and subtropical origin. Today its collections include orchids, begonias, Nepenthes, and Melastomataceae. Kyoto University Kosobe greenhouse is closed at present, and an apartment is constructed by the site. The farm moved to Kizugawa, Kansai Science City.

Kosobebosai Park (古曽部防災公園, Kosobe Bōsai Kōen) is a public park located in Takatsuki, Osaka.

Imashirozuka Kofun (今城塚古墳) is a Kofun period keyhole-shaped burial mound, located in the Gungeshinmachi neighborhood of the city of Takatsuki, Osaka in the Kinai region of Japan. The tumulus was designated a National Historic Site of Japan in 1958, with the area under protection expanded in 2006. It is the largest kofun in the Yodo River basin and one of the largest constructed in the first half of the 6th century. Although it has not been sanctioned by the Imperial Household Agency, there is a strong theory that it is the true tomb of the 26th Emperor Keitai.

Tsugeyama Kofun (闘鶏山古墳) is an Kofun period burial mound, located in the Himuro neighborhood of the city of Takatsuki, Osaka Prefecture, in the Kansai region of Japan. The tumulus was designated a National Historic Site of Japan in 2002. Its name comes from an underground ice storage room used for cockfighting, which is mentioned in the Nihon Shoki under the entry for the reign of Emperor Nintoku.

Aino University (藍野大学, Aino daigaku) is a private university in Ibaraki, Osaka, Japan, established in 2004. Aino College (藍野学院短期大学, Aino Gakuin Tanki Daigaku) is a private junior college attached to Aino University. It was established in 1985 and is located in the city of Ibaraki, Osaka.

Hirakata-juku (枚方宿, Hirakata-juku) was the third station on the Ōsaka Kaidō (or fifty-sixth of the fifty-seven stations of the Tōkaidō). It is located in the present-day city of Hirakata, Osaka Prefecture, Japan. It flourished as a port along the Yodo River and traces of the post town can still be seen today.
