Stockbridge is a city in Henry County, Georgia, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 25,637, up from 9,853 in 2000. Stockbridge is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area.

Patrick Henry High School (PHHS) was located at 109 South Lee Street in Stockbridge, Georgia, United States. It was the alternative high school for the Henry County School System. It was closed after the 2015 school year after the Board of Education made the decision to move the alternative school to a different location in the county. The building is still being used today as a rental space for the filming industry and an adjacent building is used for professional development meetings. The building was the original Stockbridge High School. Patrick Henry High School relocated to the old McDonough Elementary School in McDonough and was renamed Excel Academy.

Eagle's Landing Christian Academy (ELCA) is a private Christian school is located on an 86-acre campus twenty-five miles south of Atlanta in McDonough, Georgia, United States. It ranks 14th in the Atlanta Business Chronicle of Atlanta's 75 largest private schools. It is a ministry of Eagle's Landing First Baptist Church. Eagle's Landing Christian Academy is accredited by AdvancED and the Georgia Accrediting Commission (GAC). In addition, Eagle's Landing Christian Academy is a member of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA), Region 5-A, Southern Baptist Association of Christian Schools, Association of Christian Schools International, Atlanta Christian Schools Association, The College Board, and the Georgia Independent School Association.

Creekside Christian Academy is a private non-denominational Christian school located in McDonough, Georgia. It conducts classes for preschool as well as elementary, middle school, and high school grades. In January 2018, Creekside moved its high school students to a new campus known as the West Campus, making the school a dual campus academy. The West Campus located at 2455 Mt. Carmel Rd. in Hampton Georgia, was the former home of Higher Living Christian Church. The church recently has been evicted due to foreclosure. The middle school students of CCA are planning to move over into the West Campus in the Fall of 2018. The elementary and preschool portion of the school with remain at the East Campus (175 Foster Drive Mcdonough Georgia) In 1973, it used to be Clayton Christian School and moved into East Campus 2007.

Flippen is an unincorporated community in Henry County, Georgia, United States. Flippen is within the postal limits of McDonough and as such, most residents list McDonough as their city.

Dutchtown High School is a public high school located north of Hampton, Georgia, United States. This school is one of ten high schools operated by the Henry County School District. Dutchtown High School opened in 2004 and is located in the Dutchtown settlement in the old Sixth Militia District of Henry County along Jonesboro Road. The school is accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission and the Association of Colleges and Schools. The school's mascot is the bulldog. The school offers Advanced Placement courses and examinations, with a 26 percent participation rate in the program among students. As of 2018, it does not have a ranking in U.S. News & World Report's ranking of high schools in the United States.

SoNo (South of North Avenue) is a sub-district of downtown Atlanta, Georgia, just south of Midtown. The area was defined and named by T. Brian Glass while working on a rezoning committee with Central Atlanta Progress in 2005 in order to better establish an identity for the area and give it a hipper image. SoNo refers to the area of Downtown bounded by North Avenue on the north, Central Park Place on the east and the Downtown Connector (Interstate-75/85) on the west and south.Ongoing urban renewal efforts in the new neighborhood seek to establish a chic cultural identity for the underdeveloped area, as well as reunite the Midtown and Downtown commercial districts (which have remained mostly divided since the construction of the Downtown Connector through the heart of the city), including a proposed "interstate cap" over the highway that would extend Mayor's Park south along Peachtree Street to Baker Street. SoNo is home to several attractions, including Emory University Hospital Midtown, the Atlanta Civic Center, Shakespeare Tavern and the Bank of America Plaza, the city's tallest building. It also is home to the historic Baltimore Block and Rufus M. Rose House. SoNo's centerpiece Renaissance and Central Parks were also the site of Atlanta's annual Music Midtown festival, before moving to Piedmont Park. Public transportation is provided by MARTA with buses and with the north-south rail line serving the Civic Center station.

Eagle's Landing High School is a high school located in McDonough, Georgia, United States. It is operated by the Henry County School System. Eagle's Landing was founded in 1990. Today, the school has 1,382 students enrolled in grades 9-12 and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The school is home to an active NJROTC program, a nationally acclaimed band, and varsity sports teams that compete in the AAAA, region 4 of the Georgia High School Association.

Lake Jodeco is a private 70 acre man-made lake in Clayton County, Georgia, east of Jonesboro, Georgia. The area now known as Lake Jodeco was once inhabited by the Muskogee Creek Nation.

Lake Spivey is a 600 acre (550 acre, 600 acre) private lake located in Clayton County and Henry County, Georgia near Jonesboro.

The Camp Creek train wreck was a railroad disaster that took place on 23 June 1900 just outside McDonough, Georgia. The northbound Southern Railway train hit a washout 1.5 miles north of the town, plunging 60 feet into the swollen creek below before bursting into flames, killing 35 of the 45 aboard the train.
