The Saint Ignatius Jesuit College of Excellence (in Hungarian: Szent Ignác Jezsuita Szakkollégium (SZIK)) in Budapest, Hungary, in the VIII. district is a college of excellence established in 1990. It is run by the Jesuits. It has 60 members of which 15-20 are exchanged every year due to graduation and admission. The important values of SZIK are professionality, spirituality, community and self-government.

Pázmány Péter Catholic University (PPCU) (Hungarian: Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem (PPKE)) is a private university in and near Budapest, Hungary, belonging to the Catholic Church and recognized by the state. Founded in 1635, the PPCU is one of Hungary's oldest and most prestigious institutions of higher education. The Faculty of Theology was established by archbishop Péter Pázmány, as part of a new university, in Nagyszombat, the Kingdom of Hungary (today Trnava, Slovakia) in 1635 (the original university church is now the Cathedral of Trnava). This university was transferred to the present-day Budapest in 1777 and named after Pázmány in 1921. In 1950, the university was renamed to Eötvös Loránd University, but in the same year, the government split the Faculty of Theology off the university to form the independent Theological Academy as an anti-Church measure. After the fall of Communism, the Theological Academy was expanded with a faculty of humanities to form the Pázmány Péter Catholic University, which was accredited by the state in 1993.The university is located in two cities: the Rectors' Office, the Faculty of Theology, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Information Technology, and the Postgraduate Institute of Canon-Law are located in Budapest. The campus of the Vitéz János Faculty of Teaching is in Esztergom, just across the Esztergom Basilica. The Faculty of Humanities operated a campus in Piliscsaba, in the vicinity of Budapest from 1994 until end-2020, after which it relocated its departments and courses to Budapest. The university has several research groups and institutes. One of the most important international research programmes of the university is the Syro-Hungarian Archeological Mission, which does the restoration of Margat's crusader fortress. Nearly 8.000 students attend the university, enrolled in several Bachelor, Master, and PhD programmes. International cooperations include the Erasmus programme and bilateral agreements. It was named in 2009 as one of the most active members of the Erasmus programme. It is a co-establisher of the International Research Universities Network and has strong connections with Radboud University Nijmegen, Catholic University of Leuven, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Saint Louis University and University of Notre Dame.

Budapest's Palotanegyed (Palace District) forms an inner part of Pest, the eastern half of Budapest. Known until the communist period as the ‘Magnates’ Quarter’, it consists of the western part of the city's Eighth District, or Józsefváros (Joseph Town), which was named on 7 November 1777 after Joseph II, Holy Roman Emperor and Archduke of Austria (1741-1790), who reigned 1765-1790 (1780-1790 as King of Hungary). (Vienna's Eighth District, the Josefstadt, was also named after him, but long after his reign, in 1850). Józsefváros developed immediately east of the medieval walls of Pest and was originally called Lerchenfeld (‘Lark Field’) or the Alsó-Külváros (‘Lower Suburb’). The Palotanegyed's borders are the Múzeum körút to the west, Rákóczi út to the north, the József körút to the east and Üllői út to the south. The Budapest University of Jewish Studies (Hungarian: Országos Rabbiképző – Zsidó Egyetem, or Országos Rabbiképző Intézet / Jewish Theological Seminary – University of Jewish Studies / German: Landesrabbinerschule in Budapest) is a university in Budapest, Hungary. It was opened in 1877, a few decades after the first European rabbinical seminaries had been built in Padua, Metz, Paris and Breslau. Still, it remains the oldest existing institution in the world where rabbis are graduated.

The Rákóczi Square Market Hall or Market Hall II is one of the great Budapest market halls built during the monarchy. It was originally opened in 1894 and has been operating in its present form since 1991. This institution was named after the new district of Józsefváros in 2012, the Hall quarter. The Rákóczi tér market hall was the second of the large Budapest market halls built in the VIII. In 1890, Győző Czigler made a proposal for its replacement. [1] It was built in 1894 and designed by István Rozinay and Pál Klunzinger. The hall opened to customers in 1897. In the post-delivery period, a horse-drawn carriage could be driven into the hall at the main entrance from Rákóczi Square, thus facilitating unloading. Inside the hall there were 4 and 6 m² storehouses, with a total of 375 permanent and 55 temporary stores. The cellar was used for storage, while the corner pavilions housed a shopkeeper, police, hall control, first aid and restaurants. Above them were rented apartments. By 1936, the traffic in the hall had become so low that it was planned to close it or transform it into a swimming pool, but these plans were not realized later. On the night of May 6, 1988, a fire broke out in the hall and the building burned down. The market hall was not demolished, but it was renovated according to the plans of the architects György Tokár and György Hidasi, and reopened on 25 July 1991.

The Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest (Hungarian: Színház- és Filmművészeti Egyetem, SZFE) is an educational institution founded in 1865 in Budapest, Hungary. It became a university in 2000 and the name was changed to University of Theatre and Film Arts.On 31 August 2020, the university's management resigned in protest at the imposition of a government-appointed board of trustees which they saw as limiting the university's autonomous status.

Andrássy University Budapest (AUB) (full name: Andrássy Gyula German Speaking University Budapest/Andrássy Gyula Deutschsprachige Universität Budapest) is a private university in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. Andrássy University Budapest was founded in 2001 and is the only completely German-language university outside the German-speaking countries. As a European university in Hungary, it is supported by five partner states (Austria, Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Germany, Hungary) and also by Switzerland and the autonomous region of Trentino-South Tyrol.

Minta Gymnasium ("Model") was a secondary school in Budapest, Hungary, founded by Mór Kármán, Hungarian philosopher and educator who reformatted Hungarian school system. It is noted, together with Fasori Lutheran Gymnasium and the Piarist Gymnasium, for a number of talented students.

Józsefváros (German: Josefstadt) is the 8th district of Budapest, Hungary. It is the part of the city centre in the wider sense as one of the 18–19th century older suburbs, close to Belváros.

Fővárosi Szabó Ervin Könyvtár (literally Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library) is the largest library network in Budapest, Hungary. The Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library's main branch is housed in the 19th-century neo-baroque Wenckheim Palace. The municipal library needed more space as its collection grew, so it expanded to a network of additional buildings while restoring the palace as a national monument. The library is now 13,000 m² and houses Budapest's largest public collection of books with a capacity for 1,100,000 volumes. In 2003, the International Real Estate Federation awarded the Prix d’Excellence to its central building.

Rákóczi tér is a station on Line 4 of the Budapest Metro. It is located beneath the eponymous square, named after Francis II Rákóczi. The station was opened on 28 March 2014 as part of the inaugural section of the line, from Keleti pályaudvar to Kelenföld vasútállomás.The station was decorated red, white and green (the colours of the Hungarian flag) and designed with the names of the former domains of Francis II Rákóczi.
