New Orleans Lager and Ale Brewing Company, commonly called "NOLA Brewing Company," is a brewery in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. The brewery is located in a converted old warehouse building at the corner of Tchoupitoulas and Seventh Streets in Uptown New Orleans. Following the closure of the Dixie Brewing Company facility after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, no commercial brewery operated in New Orleans until NOLA Brewing Company produced its first craft beer in 2009. They celebrated their 7th year of production in 2016 with special releases.NOLA Brewing Company is currently served in bars throughout the Southeast United States, as well as full sized kegs and draft packs sold at grocery stores throughout Louisiana.

West Jefferson High School, also known as WJHS, and West Jeff is a public high school located in Harvey in unincorporated Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, United States, just outside New Orleans. It was founded in 1955. This is one of the schools in Jefferson Parish that offered the Laptop one to one initiative program. West Jefferson also offers transportation for students to and from school for free. This is a Title I school The school was damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. It serves portions of several communities, including Harvey, Gretna, and Timberlane. All of Terrytown is in the West Jefferson attendance zone.

Irish Channel (French: Manche irlandaise, Irish: Cainéal na hÉireann) is a neighborhood of the city of New Orleans. It is a subdistrict of the Central City/Garden District Area. Although the original site was located predominantly on the east side of Jackson Avenue, its boundaries as defined by the Historic District Landmarks Commission are: Magazine Street to the north, Jackson Avenue to the east, the Mississippi River to the south and Delachaise Street to the west.

Immaculata High School was a Catholic high school in Marrero, Louisiana. Immaculata High School opened in 1956 as a part of Immaculate Conception Parish. Immaculata answered a growing need for Catholic secondary education on the Westbank. Located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans, the School Sisters of Notre Dame served Immaculata from its inception until May 1979. In August 1979, the Salesian Sisters came to Immaculata. The founding pastor, Msgr. Paul Gaudin, envisioned a girls' school. At the time, however, the absence of a boys' Catholic High School in the area prompted parents to seek admission also for their sons.On September 10, 1956, Immaculata High School opened its doors to 50 freshmen. In 1960, 24 students comprised the first graduating class; the total enrollment was 188 in that year. Immaculata continued as a co-ed school until the opening of Archbishop Shaw High School in 1962. Archbishop Shaw began with only a Freshman class of 9th grade boys and added successive grades each year thereafter. Immaculata phased out the admission of boys within each grade that Archbishop Shaw accommodated, until 1966, when Immaculata awarded diplomas to the last 9 boys to attend the school.

Protestant Home for Babies was located in the lavish and historic Garden District of New Orleans, Louisiana. It was established in 1926 by community women seeking to provide a shelter for destitute infants. By the early 1950’s, maternity services were added to provide short-term shelter for pregnant young women. The shelter continued to provide for adoptable and homeless infants. By 1974 the community's needs for maternity home services decreased and the Board of Directors discontinued the maternity and infant shelters. A group home was established for adolescent girls in need of a nurturing home environment. In 1979, the agency's name was officially changed from Protestant Home for Babies to Raintree Services. Raintree Services is a non-sectarian social service organization still operating today at the same location. Each year, Raintree assists more than 600 children and families through five specialized programs, which include Raintree House, Raintree Family Care, Early Steps, Afterschool Program and Attendant Care Services. Today, many adoptees and birth-families from the Protestant Home for Babies, and all over Louisiana, search for each other on the Internet.

The George Washington Cable House is a historic house at 1313 8th Street, in the Garden District of New Orleans, Louisiana. Built in 1874, it was the home of George Washington Cable (1844–1925), an American writer who described Creole life, during the period in which he rose to national prominence. The cottage was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1962.

The Jackson Avenue–Gretna ferry was a ferry across the Mississippi River in the U.S. state of Louisiana, connecting Jackson Avenue in New Orleans with Huey P. Long Avenue in Gretna. It carried automobiles for $1.00; bicycles and pedestrians for free. The Crescent City Connection Division of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development operated the ferry on weekdays from 06:00 to 20:45.

Touro Infirmary is a non-profit hospital located in New Orleans, Louisiana. Founded by Judah Touro in 1852, it is a part of the LCMC Health System.
