Sukiyabashi Jiro

The Sony Building was designed by Japanese architect Yoshinobu Ashihara, and opened on April 29, 1966 in Tokyo's Ginza district (Chūō-ku). It is located at the Sukiyabashi crossroads on Harumi-dori, and is accessible directly from the Ginza subway station via exit B9. The building is an example of Postmodern architecture. The main showroom section of the building is split level floors up to the 6th floor, with each quarter of the showroom elevated from the previous by 90 cm (35 in), creating a continuous showroom space. Another unusual feature of this building is that it leaves a small square facing the intersection open, creating a performance/display space that the architect referred to as "Sony Square".A major renovation was made in 1992, with the exterior restored to its original condition. Exterior louvers and tiles were replaced, new entrance doors were installed, and the small square at the corner of the intersection was renovated. The original facade, a light display consisting of a large number of 5-inch cathode ray tubes, was replaced with 74 aluminum panels. Interior renovation was done at this time as well.The Sony Building closed on March 31, 2017 and was demolished on the same year and the new Sony Building will be built on this same location, and will open in 2022. During this period, the land will be turned into a park for recreational use through the summer of 2020, when the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games were set to take place.

Maison Hermès is a building in Tokyo, Japan. It is located at 5-4-1 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. Constructed between 1998 and 2001, it was designed by Renzo Piano assisted by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson of Berkeley, California and in collaboration with Takenaka Corporation. The building is the flagship store and corporate headquarters of Hermès, the French luxury empire of Jean-Louis Dumas. It is a 6,000 square metre (65,000 square feet) structure that houses workshops and offices, a shopping space, exhibition areas and multimedia quarters. In addition to a roof garden at the top of the building, there is also a recess which divides the long facade into two, forming a courtyard that delivers an access to the subway two levels below.

Wako Co., Ltd. (株式会社和光, Kabushiki-gaisha Wakō) is a department store retailer in Japan, whose best known store (commonly known as the Ginza Wako) is at the heart of the Ginza shopping district in Tokyo. This store is famous for its watches, jewellery, chocolate, porcelain, dishware, and handbags, as well as upscale foreign goods. There is an art gallery, called Wako Hall, on the sixth floor. Wako was founded in 1881 by Kintarō Hattori as a watch and jewelry shop called K. Hattori (now Seiko Holdings Corporation) in Ginza. In 1947, the retail division split off as Wako Co., Ltd. From 1894 to 1921, the Hattori Clock Tower stood on the site that Wako occupies today. In 1921, the Hattori Clock Tower was demolished to rebuild a new one. The reconstruction was delayed due to the Great Kantō earthquake of September 1, 1923. The new tower was completed in 1932 as the K. Hattori Building. In homage to its predecessor, the new store was also fitted with a clock. The 1932 building was designed by Jin Watanabe in art deco influenced neoclassical style. Its curved granite façade and clock tower form the central landmark for the district and one of the few buildings in the area left standing after World War II. The building functioned as the Tokyo PX store during the Allied Occupation of Japan from 1945 to 1952. The clock tower plays the famous Westminster Chimes. Wako has branches in Haneda Airport, Shinsaibashi, and some luxury hotels in Japan.

Ginza Kojyu (also known as Ginza Koju) (銀座小十, Ginza Kojū) is a Michelin 2-star kaiseki restaurant in Ginza, Chūō, Tokyo, Japan. It is owned and operated by chef Toru Okuda. It is a personal favorite of chef, David Kinch.

Ginza Station (銀座駅, Ginza-eki) is a subway station in Chūō, Tokyo, Japan, operated by the Tokyo subway operator Tokyo Metro. It serves the Ginza commercial district, and is the fourth-busiest Tokyo Metro station after Ikebukuro, Ōtemachi, and Kita-senju.

Ginza ( GHIN-zə; Japanese: 銀座 [ɡindza]) is a district of Chūō, Tokyo, located south of Yaesu and Kyōbashi, west of Tsukiji, east of Yūrakuchō and Uchisaiwaichō, and north of Shinbashi. It is a popular upscale shopping area of Tokyo, with numerous internationally renowned department stores, boutiques, restaurants and coffeehouses located in its vicinity. It is considered to be one of the most expensive, elegant, and luxurious city districts in the world. Ginza was a part of the old Kyobashi ward of Tokyo City, which, together with Nihonbashi and Kanda, formed the core of Shitamachi, the original downtown center of Edo (Tokyo).

Yūrakuchō Station (有楽町駅, Yūrakuchō-eki) is a railway station in the Yūrakuchō district of Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan, operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) and the Tokyo subway operator Tokyo Metro. It is Tokyo Metro's fifteenth busiest station in 2016.

Chuo Municipal Taimei Elementary School (中央区立泰明小学校, Chūō-kuritsu Taimei Shōgakkō) is a public elementary school in Ginza, Chuo, Tokyo. It is operated by the Chuo City Board of Education (中央区教育委員会). It has a plaque for Heritage of Industrial Modernization. Another plaque stated that the façade, which has ivy, is seen as a symbol in Ginza.The school's attendance boundary includes the following portions of Ginza: All of 5-8 chome, and parts of 1-chome (2-10-ban, and two lots of 11-ban), 2-chome (2-9 ban), 3-chome (2-8 ban), and 4-chome (1-8 ban).

The name Ginza Six or G Six reflects the building address in Ginza 6-chome as well as the desire to provide an exceptional "six-star" shopping experience.

Ginza-itchōme Station (銀座一丁目駅, Ginza-itchōme-eki) is a subway station on the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line in Chūō, Tokyo, Japan, operated by the Tokyo subway operator Tokyo Metro. It is numbered Y-19.

Yūrakuchō (有楽町) is a business district of Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan, situated in between the Ginza and Hibiya Park, southeast of the Tokyo Imperial Palace. The district takes its name from Oda Nagamasu (1547–1622), who was also known as Yūraku (有楽). Oda Nagamasu built his mansion here on land granted by Tokugawa Ieyasu near the Sukiya-bashi Gate of Edo Castle. The place name dates from the Meiji period. Yūrakuchō is served by several train and subway stations, including Hibiya Station (Toei Subway and Tokyo Metro lines) and Yūrakuchō Station (JR East and Tokyo Metro lines). Unlike its tonier neighbor Ginza, Yūrakuchō provides a glimpse of Japanese life from the early postwar period, with its many izakaya (Japanese-style bars, denoted by their red lanterns known as akachochin) and outdoor yakitori restaurants, many of which are located near or under the train tracks serving Tokyo's JR Yamanote Line. Because of its easy access to Tokyo Station, Yūrakuchō bars and restaurants are popular among businessmen on their way home from work. The administrative Yūrakuchō district also covers the Hibiya area.
