Aegilia or Aigilia (Ancient Greek: Αἰγιλία), or Aegilus or Aigilos (ἡ Αἵγιλος), was a deme of ancient Attica belonging to the phyle of Antiochis, situated on the western coast between Lamptra and Sphettus. It was celebrated for its figs.The site of Aegilia is tentatively located at modern Phoinikia.

Thorae or Thorai (Ancient Greek: Θοραί) was a deme of ancient Attica, located a little south of Anagyrus. The site of Thorae is tentatively located at Agios Demetrios Trapuria.

Laureotic Olympus (named for the region of Laurium, also Όλυμπος Αττικής "Attic Olympus", Σκόρδι) is a hill in Attica, just north of Anavyssos, in Saronikos municipality, East Attica, Greece. At a height of 487 m is one of the three major elevations of southern Attica, alongside mounts Panio and Merenda (Myrrhinous). Attic Olympus is the place of origin of the white marble used in the Temple of Poseidon at Sounion. It is also notable as the site of an early Christian basilica, known as the Basilica of Laureotic Olympos, established before AD 559, a three-aisled church with double narthex and baptistery, decorated with sculpted marble and a mosaic floor.

Saronikos (Greek: Σαρωνικός) is a municipality in the East Attica regional unit, Attica, Greece. The seat of the municipality is the town Kalyvia Thorikou. The municipality has an area of 139.099 km2.

Kalyvia Thorikou (Greek: Καλύβια Θορικού) is a town and a former municipality in East Attica, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Saronikos, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 70.636 km2. The town has historically been an Arvanite settlement.

Saronida (Greek: Σαρωνίδα) is a seaside resort village and former community in East Attica, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Saronikos, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 6.670 km2.

Phrearrhii or Phrearrhioi or Phrearroi (Greek: Φρεάρριοι) was a deme of the coastal (paralia) region of ancient Attica, belonging to the Leontis tribe (phyle), with nine to ten representatives in the Boule. It was situated roughly 30 km (20 mi) south-east of Athens, bordering the deme of Anaphlystos to the south-west, just north of Attic Olympus, close to modern Pheriza (Φέριζα), in the Lavreotiki municipality. The Athenian statesman Themistocles was a native of Phrearrhioi. Its site is located east of modern Olymbos.

Prospalta (Ancient Greek: Πρόσπαλτα) was a deme of ancient Attica in the phyle Acamantis. It lay in the interior, between Zoster and Potamus.Its site is located northwest of modern Kalyvia Thorikou.

Keratea (Greek: Κερατέα) is a town in East Attica, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Lavreotiki, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 129.864 km2. It is part of Athens metropolitan area.

Olympic Airways Flight 954 was a Douglas DC-6B aircraft that crashed into a mountain near Keratea (approx. coordinates 37°48' N, 23°57' E), Greece, on December 8, 1969. All 85 passengers and 5 crew on board died in the crash.

Anavyssos (Greek: Ανάβυσσος) is a town and a former municipality in East Attica, Greece located in the Athens Riviera. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Saronikos, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 14.478 km2. At the 2021 census it had 6,180 inhabitants. It is situated near the Saronic Gulf coast, at the foot of Olympos hill (487 m). It is 2 km north of Palaia Fokaia, 4 km east of Saronida, 10 km west of Lavrio and 34 km southeast of Athens city centre. The Greek National Road 91 (Athens - Sounion) passes south of the town, along the coast. Anavyssos is located in the area of ancient Attica's demos of Anaflystos (Ανάφλυστος), which has shown significant archaeological findings like Kroisos Kouros that is exhibited in the National Archaeological Museum of Athens. The contemporary settlement was originally a village founded by Greek refugees who resettled there after fleeing from various areas of Asia Minor after the Asia Minor Campaign. Anavyssos is the place where Elias Venezis, one of the most important Greek novelists of the 20th century located his 1939 novel 'Tranquility' (Γαλήνη). Today Anavyssos is a major coastal resort of Attica famous for water-sports, the town sees its population tripled during the summer months. In addition to the main part of the town, Anavyssos includes a number of satellite settlements such as Ag. Nikolaos, Mavro Lithari, Paralia Anavyssou, Lakka, Alykes etc.

National Road 91 (Greek: Εθνική Οδός 91, abbreviated as EO91) is a highway in Attica, Greece. It runs from the centre of Athens to Sounio, via Vouliagmeni. It was first constructed in the 1950s as a one-lane per direction road, but the section between central Athens and Varkiza was later extended to two lanes per direction. It has many extremely dangerous curves, and accidents happen frequently. Currently, there are no plans to replace it with a bypass or reconstruct certain dangerous parts, but there has been an effort to increase police presence to prevent illegal racing and violation of speed limits which were common phenomena over the last 10 years. The highway becomes busier during the summer, as most of the places it connects are popular vacation spots. The highway also goes past what was Ellinikon International Airport (Athens' old airport).
