Albion recorded a population of 4,334 at the 2021 census.Albion is bordered on the north by Ballarat Road, the south by Forrest Street, the west by Kororoit Creek and the east by Anderson Road. The suburb is completely surrounded by other parts of Sunshine except for Ardeer, which lies to Albion's due west across Kororoit Creek.

Marian College is an independent Roman Catholic secondary day school for girls, located in the outer Melbourne suburb of Sunshine West, Victoria, Australia. The school was established in 1957 by the Brigidine Sisters and since 2014 now works under the governance of the Kildare Ministries. Marian College is one of seven Kildare Ministries secondary schools in Victoria and South Australia and continues to hold the Brigidine Tradition as a valuable and significant part of its heritage. It comprises the western suburbs between 10 and 20 km west and northwest from the Melbourne city centre. The City has an area of 123 km² and in June 2018, Brimbank had a population of 208,714.

Cairnlea is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 17 km (11 mi) north-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Brimbank local government area. Cairnlea recorded a population of 10,038 at the 2021 census.The former Albion site became open grassland after European settlement but later, from 1939, it was a government explosives manufacturing site. The site closed in the 1990s.The suburb is a new estate, and has only been developed since 1999, with development of the new suburb to finish in mid-2005. The suburb features several man-made lakes and has implemented a suburb-wide stormwater recycling system that feeds all the lakes. By 2011 Cairnlea is projected to have 3,000 residential blocks and to have a population of more than 10,000. It covers 460 hectares (4.6 km2) bounded by Station Road, the Western Highway and the Western Ring Road. Some 130 hectares (320 acres) have been set aside for public open space. Part of that process has seen two endangered species (the Plains Rice-flower and the Striped Legless Lizard) having reserves and management plans set up for their preservation.

Sunshine West is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 13 km (8.1 mi) west of Melbourne's central business district, located within the City of Brimbank local government area. Sunshine West recorded a population of 18,552 at the 2021 census.Sunshine West is a residential and industrial area. It is bounded by Forrest Street in the north, Kororoit Creek in the east, Boundary Road in the south and the Western Ring Road in the west. Settlement of the area dates from the 1920s when the Sunshine Heights Estate was developed. Sunshine West Post Office opened on 1 July 1939 and closed in 1981. Significant development did not occur until the post-war years, with rapid growth from the 1970s through to the 1980s. The population declined slightly from the early 1990s, a result of some new dwellings being added to the area, but a decline in the average number of persons living in each dwelling. Sunshine West presently features a significant ethnically diverse population, being home to many refugees and immigrant families that have settled from Europe, Asia and the Pacific, especially from Malta, Greece, Italy, North Macedonia, Croatia, Vietnam, China and the Philippines. Major features of the area include the Sunshine Wisdom Lodge – Freemasons Victoria, Saint Leopold Mandić Croatian Catholic Church and Centre, West Sunshine Community Centre, Ainsworth Reserve, Buckingham Reserve, Norm Talintyre Reserve, the Australia Post Parcel Facility, the nearby Ardeer railway station and numerous schools. The suburb hosts the Sunshine Heights Football Club in the Western Regional Football League.

St Albans Secondary College is a public high school located at St Albans, Victoria, Australia, in Melbourne's western suburbs. The coeducational school caters for students from Year 7 to Year 12. It is recognised for its academic excellence, strong social and cultural values and high university admission rates. The principal of the school since 2006 is Kerrie Dowsley.
