Kamathipura (also spelled Kamthipura) is a neighbourhood in Mumbai, India known for prostitution. It was first settled after 1795 with the construction of causeways that connected the erstwhile seven islands of Mumbai. Initially known as Lal Bazaar, it got its name from the Kamathis (workers) of other areas of the country, who were labourers on construction sites. Due to tough police crackdowns, in the late 1990s with the rise of AIDS and government's redevelopment policy that helped sex workers to move out of the profession and subsequently out of Kamathipura, the number of sex workers in the area has dwindled. In 1992, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) recorded there were 45,000 sex workers here which was reduced to 1,600 in 2009 and 500 in 2018. Many sex workers have migrated to other areas in Maharashtra with real estate developers taking over the high-priced real estate. In 2018 the Maharashtra government sought tenders to demolish and redevelop the area.

South Mumbai, colloquially SoBo from South Bombay in Anglo-Indian English, administratively the Mumbai City District, is the city centre and the southernmost precinct of Greater Bombay. It extends from Colaba to Mahim neighbourhoods, and comprises the city's main business localities, making it the wealthiest urban precinct in India. Most residents of South Mumbai belong to old money business, law, trade and fashion families. Geographically, South Mumbai lies at the southern most extent of Salsette Island. Most city residents use the term to refer to the stretch extending from Colaba to Mahim and Sion as South Mumbai. The area is delimited on the east by Mumbai harbour and on the west by the Arabian Sea. South Mumbai is also home to the many educational institutions; namely Cathedral and John Connon School, JB Petit, Campion, Bombay International School, St. Mary's School, Mumbai etc, the most exclusive sports clubs: CCI, The Willingdon Sports Club, as well as the Bombay Gymkhana and hospitals such as Breach Candy Hospital, Bombay Hospital, Jaslok Hospital and Hurkisondas Hospital; in the nation.

Mumbai City District is a district of Maharashtra in Konkan Division. As a city district, it has no headquarters or subdivisions. It, along with the Mumbai Suburban District, makes up the metropolis of Mumbai. This area is called the "Island City" or South Mumbai or Old Mumbai. It extends from Colaba in the south to Mahim and Sion in the north. The city has an area of 157 km2 (61 sq mi) and a population of 3,085,411.

Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre, managed by Reliance Foundation, is located in Girgaon, Mumbai, India. Founded in 1925 by Gordhandas Bhagwandas Narottamdas, it was renovated and reopened in 2014. The hospital is largely called "Hurkisondas Hospital" and "Reliance Hospital.

Lamington Road, officially Dr. Dadasaheb Bhadkamkar Marg, named after Lord Lamington, the Governor of Bombay between 1903 and 1907, is a busy thoroughfare near Grant Road station in South Mumbai. The official name of the road is rarely used. It is often called the "IT shop of Mumbai".Lamington Road is famous for its wholesale and retail market in electronics goods. Shops on the street sell computer goods, electronic items, television equipment, and wireless equipment at rates much lower than the maximum retail price as they have a high turnover. They sell not only the latest computer related items but even outdated electronic parts for radios like transistors, capacitors, cables, sound cards, TV tuners and adaptors. Lamington road is the third largest grey market in India for electronic goods and peripherals after Nehru Place in Delhi and Ritchie street in Chennai.

The Queen Mary School, founded in 1875, is a private school for girls in Grant road, Mumbai, India. It operates under the management of the Christian Medical Educational Fellowship (C.M.E.F) Trust and prepares students to take the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (I.C.S.E) Board examinations. English is the medium of instruction throughout the school for all subjects, except the regional languages. It is among the oldest schools in Mumbai, and boasts, among its alumni prominent Indians like Maniben Patel (the daughter of Sardar Patel).

Opera House Vidhan Sabha constituency was one of the 288 constituencies in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly from Mumbai area, in India. The constituency existed until the 2004 elections and was part of Mumbai South Lok Sabha constituency. It became defunct after the constituency map was redrawn.

Royal Opera House, more commonly known simply as Opera House in Mumbai (formerly Bombay), is India's only surviving opera house. Situated on Charni Road, near Girgaum Chowpatti beach, the adjective ‘Royal’ was prefixed to ‘Opera House’ to reflect the fact that its foundation stone was laid during the British Raj in 1909, and King George V inaugurated the building in 1911 while the building was still under construction. Work on the Royal Opera House was completed in 1912, although additions were made to the building up to 1915. Gradually, the entire are near it began being called "Opera house", and the building began hosting plays, dramas, music concernts and gradually, Hindi films. It became a popular venue for Bollywood film shows in the 1970s and 80s. In the 1980s, as home video players began to get popular, cinema houses in Mumbai started to register losses. In the 1990s, with the growing popularity of cable television, cinema houses in Mumbai began to close down due to a lack of clientele. In 1993, Opera house closed down. However, after years of neglect following its closure in 1993, restoration work started in 2008. The exterior restoration was completed in 2011 and restoration was completed in 2016. The area around the theatre is also referred to as the Opera House in Mumbai. The Opera House area has many jewellery, metal and IT companies. On 21 October 2016, after a gap of 23 years, Royal Opera House hosted performance of Bombay-born British soprano Patricia Rozario and her husband, pianist Mark Troop. The private event was organised by Opera House owners Maharaja Joytendrasinhji Jadeja and Maharani Kumud Kumari Jadeja of Gondal, Gujarat. In 2017, it received the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Award for Cultural Heritage Conservation.

M.S.P.T High School is a secondary school in the Gamdevi district of Mumbai. It was established in 1905 as Master Sitaldas Punwani Tutorial High School. The medium of education is English.The School Profile One of the oldest schools of the city of Mumbai. The School with its sister institution was started by Mr. Framji Master in 1909. After his sad demise, the school was taken over by Manekji Banaji who was helped by Sorabji Dastoor and Mr. Dubhash. In 1925, the schools were shifted to the present building 'Saraswati Mandir' in 1951, the schools were handed over the children educational Uplift Society'. It was in the early 70'S that Late Dharamdas Kshatriya of Model High School in Sukkur (Sind), approached HSNC Board to take over his schools at Grant Road.
