Chevreuse

The Château de la Madeleine is a castle located in the town of Chevreuse, in the French département of Yvelines (Île de France). In a good state of preservation, it was built on the top of a hill and dominates the town. The name comes from the chapel of the castle, dedicated to Sainte Marie-Madeleine.

The château was designated a monument historique in 1973. The family of the Marquis de Breteuil gave three ministers to the Kings of France. The château is still owned by the de Breteuil family. The design is similar to the Château de Dampierre-en-Yvelines by Jules Hardouin-Mansart.

Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ ʁemi lɛ ʃəvʁøz] , literally Saint-Rémy near Chevreuse) is a commune in the Yvelines department, in the Île-de-France region of north-central France. Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse station is the southwestern endpoint of the RER B line from Paris.

Saint-Forget (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ fɔʁʒɛ]) is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. The commute consists of three hamlets: Le Mesnil-Sevin, Haute-Beauce, and The Sablons. This small town is 30 kilometers from Paris. It is nestled in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of the Upper Chevreuse Valley. As of 2019, there are 241 dwellings in the commune, of which 202 primary residences.The commune contains a small town hall that currently offers tours and/or visits. This small commune also includes many sites of interest for a small tour, including the Castle of Mauvières and the Saint Gilles Saint Ferréol church, which includes medieval frescoes. The castle, which used to be a manor, dates back to the 17th and 18th centuries.
