Y Ffôr

Bryn Beryl Hospital (Welsh: Ysbyty Bryn Beryl) is a health facility in Pwllheli, Gwynedd, Wales. It is managed by the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

The ancient Welsh cantref of Llŷn in north-west Wales was part of the kingdom of Gwynedd for much of its history until it was included in the new county of Caernarfonshire, together with Arfon and Arllechwedd under the terms of the Statute of Rhuddlan in 1284. Trahain Goch ap Madoc, died 1325, was described as "of Llŷn".

St Cawrdaf's Church is located on the western edge of the village of Abererch, Gwynedd, Wales. The church is dedicated to Cawrdaf, a Welsh saint. It is a Grade I listed building.

Aber-erch ([abɛrˈɛrχ], Welsh for "Mouth of the Erch") is a small village and former civil parish on the Llŷn Peninsula in the Welsh county of Gwynedd. The village lies approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) east of Pwllheli. A river, the Afon Erch runs through the village. The parish was abolished in 1934 and incorporated into that of Llannor, now the community of Llannor. It is a mostly Welsh-speaking village and its name is often truncated to "Berch" [bɛrχ] in the local Welsh dialect. There is a primary school, playschool, and a railway station. The Church of St Cawrdaf is a grade I listed building. Aber-erch has a beach called 'Traeth Glan y Don' (which roughly translates to 'Shore of the wave beach') which extends from Morfa'r Garreg, Pwllheli to Pen-ychain. Parking for the beach is near the railway station. From the beach you have a view of Harlech Castle in the east all the way down to Tywyn (on a clearer day even further south) and to the west Pwllheli and the St Tudwal's Islands. Access to the beach is through a footpath next the caravan and camp-site. This beach is ideal for days when the wind is from the north or north west due to the sheltered bay. The ward includes the village of Y Ffor and the small settlement of Penrhos.

Abererch railway station is located at a level crossing on the minor road from the beach to the village of Abererch on the Llŷn Peninsula in Gwynedd, Wales.

Penarth Fawr is a hall house in the community of Llanystumdwy, Gwynedd, Wales. The oldest part of the house dates from the mid-fifteenth century and consists of four bays of the original house, with the service rooms in the southern bay and the hall occupying the other three; a parlour wing to the north of the hall has been demolished. There is a seventeenth-century wing attached to the rear of the building. The original house has been altered several times, but was restored to approximately its medieval appearance in 1937 and is notable for its intact medieval roof and screen. The hall is described as "one of the most important medieval gentry houses to survive in Wales" by Cadw, the historic environment service of the Welsh Government, and as "an important medieval hall house" in the Buildings of Wales series. It is a grade I listed building and a scheduled monument, and the seventeenth-century wing and stables are each listed at grade II. Penarth Fawr passed into state care in 1949 and is now managed by Cadw.

The 1984 Llŷn Peninsula earthquake struck the Llŷn Peninsula in Gwynedd, northwest Wales on Thursday 19 July 1984 at 06:56 UTC (07:56 BST). Measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale, it is the largest onshore earthquake to occur in the UK since instrumental measurements began.The effects were felt throughout Wales, most of England, and parts of Ireland and Scotland. There were many reports of minor damage to chimneys and masonry throughout Wales and England, the biggest concentration of damage being in Liverpool, which is located around 65 miles northeast of the epicentre. Minor injuries were also reported in the areas surrounding the epicentral area, and rockslides occurred at Tremadog in Gwynedd.The 19 July earthquake was followed by many aftershocks in the following months, the largest measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale, which itself was felt as far away as Dublin, in Ireland.

Llanarmon (English: Garmon's Church) is a small village and former civil parish in the old commote of Eifionydd and Cantref Dunoding in the Welsh county of Gwynedd. The parish was abolished in 1934 and incorporated into Llanystumdwy. The village lies 4 miles (6.4 km) north east of Pwllheli and is close to the village of Llangybi, a holy well and the mountain of Carn Pentrych. A well-preserved 15th-century manor house at Penarth-fawr is maintained by Cadw, and another ancient monument Plas Du (Welsh: Black Place) is a well-preserved, substantial sub-medieval gentry house. It also has important historical associations; it was known as the centre of the Roman Catholic faith in the region and was the home of Thomas Owen, High Sheriff of Caernarfonshire from 1569, who was imprisoned for sheltering missionary priests in the house in 1571. "The village is pleasantly situated in a fertile plain, and the neighbour-hood partakes of the pleasing scenery which prevails in this part of the country. The living is a rectory not in charge, annexed to that of Llangybi, in the archdeaconry of Merioneth, and diocese of Bangor, and in the patronage of the Bishop of Bangor. The church, dedicated to Saint Garmon, is an ancient and spacious structure in good repair : some additional windows have lately been inserted, previously to which alteration the interior was very dark." The Afon Erch is a short river on the Llŷn peninsula, Gwynedd, Wales. It arises near the village of Llanaelhaearn, flowing south and southwest towards the hamlet of Llwyndyrys where it turns abruptly eastwards and curves around to the south, passing to the east of Y Ffor at Rhyd-y-gwystl. It continues towarin a SSW direction towards Abererch where despite the village name, it does not enter the sea but flows west parallel to the coast for 1 mile to Pwllheli. The Afon Rhyd-hir (translates from Welsh as 'river of the long ford') joins the Afon Erch within the tidal basin of Pwllheli Harbour. Its headwaters gather to the south of Llithfaen and flow south past Llannor to approach Pwllheli from the west. It is joined by the Afon Penrhos immediately west of the town, having originated around the extensive bog of Cors Geirch, a national nature reserve. Parts of the courses of each of these rivers occupy valleys that were formed by glacial meltwater. The uppermost Penrhos is a misfit stream within its valley. The name of the Erch either signifies 'dappled/dark' or is possibly a personal name. Until the 16th century Aber-erch did sit at the point at which the river entered the sea but the longshore drift of the sands of Morfa Abererch diverted it west thereafter.

Pwllheli Lifeboat Station is located in the town of Pwllheli, which sits on the Llŷn Peninsula, in the historic county of Gwynedd, Wales. A lifeboat station was first established here by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in 1891. The station currently operates a D-class (IB1) lifeboat, Robert J Wright (D-811), on station since 2017.

Carreg yr Imbill is the remains of a large dolerite with pegmatite pods and quarry at Pwllheli, Gwynedd, Wales. The dolerite was mined by the Liverpool and Pwllheli Granite Company (sometimes known as the Pwllheli Granite Company), which used the diorite for stone setts to pave the streets. The worked out quarry forms the basis for a large holiday village which is run by the Haulfryn Group, the same company that runs The Warren in Abersoch.

The Old Town Hall (Welsh: Hen Neuadd y Dref Pwllheli) is a municipal building located on Penlan Street in Pwllheli in Gwynedd in Wales. The structure, which accommodates offices and meeting place of Pwllheli Town Council, is a Grade II listed building.
