Betchton Hall

St John the Baptist's Church is in Church Lane, Smallwood, Cheshire, England. Its benefice is combined with those of St Mary, Astbury, and All Saints, Somerford. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

The village is approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Sandbach and 3 miles south-west of Congleton. It is based in a rural area and is largely agricultural. At the 2001 census, the parish had a population of 491, increasing to 614 at the 2011 Census.There is a primary school (Smallwood Church of England Primary Academy) within the village, and also a children's day nursery attached to a farm. St John's Parish Church, built between 1843 and 1846, is Grade II listed.A Village Design Statement was created by Smallwood Parish Council, residents of Smallwood and Cheshire East Council. It gives a full description of the village, including its history. In addition it is also a planning document adopted by Cheshire East Council on 14 October 2010.

Rode Heath is a small village in the civil parish of Odd Rode, near Alsager and within the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. According to the 2001 census, Rode Heath had a population of 2,150. In the 2011 census the figure had dropped to 2,019 and a 2016 estimate put the population at 1,943. The village was previously two villages, Rode Heath and Thurlwood. Since extensive housing developments in Thurlwood the two are known simply as Rode Heath. The Trent and Mersey Canal runs through Rode Heath. The village has two pubs, a primary school, post office, shop and takeaway. There are two churches: the Church of the Good Shepherd, one of the three churches that make up the Parish of Odd Rode, and the Rhema Mission Church (Rode Heath Chapel). Close by is Rode Hall, the gardens of which are a tourist attraction. The current owner of Rode Hall is Lady Wilbraham. The village has a number of gentle walks along the canal and through the countryside, popular with dog walkers.

Being a prefabricated building constructed in corrugated galvanised iron, it is popularly referred to as a tin tabernacle.

Hassall Green railway station is a disused railway station in Cheshire, England. The station was situated on the North Staffordshire Railway (NSR) branch line to Sandbach from Harecastle. The line opened in 1852 to serve the salt and chemical works in the Sandbach area and passenger services were a very late addition, not being introduced until 1893, 41 years after the opening of the line.The station at Hassall Green was a later addition to the passenger service. Two intermediate stations on the line, Wheelock & Sandbach and Lawton opened in 1893 but Hassall Green was only opened in 1905. The station marked the end point of a single track section from Lawton and towards Sandbach the line was double track.Increasing competition from bus services led to the station and line being closed for passenger services on 28 July 1930. Parcels traffic continued to be handled at the station until 1947 when the station closed completely.Freight traffic continued over the line until 1964 and the line was finally closed and lifted in 1971. The signalbox and crossing gates are preserved and have since been relocated to Hadlow Road railway station in Willaston, Wirral, formally part of the Hooton and West Kirby branch line.

The parish had a population of 199 according to the 2001 census, increasing to 276 at the 2011 census.
