Longworth Road

The Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance is an interdisciplinary research institute of the University of Oxford, England. The institute was co-founded in June 2007 with Man Group plc. It brings together faculty, post-docs and students throughout the university interested in research into the quantitative finance applications of machine learning and data analytics.

Walton Well Road is a road, about 400 metres (a quarter mile) long, near the centre of Oxford, England. It provides a link from central Oxford to Port Meadow.

St Sepulchre's Cemetery is a former cemetery located on Walton Street, Jericho, central Oxford, England. The cemetery was opened in 1848 as a cemetery for the Oxford parishes of St Giles, St Michael, and St Mary Magdalen, and the district chapelry of St Paul's Church (which included outlying parts of St Thomas's parish before St Barnabas' Church was built). The cemetery was created because all the other existing Oxford cemeteries were overcrowded after many hundreds of years of burials; two other cemeteries, Osney Cemetery and Holywell Cemetery, were also opened at the same time, to cater to the other eight Oxford parishes. In 1855, new burials were forbidden in all Oxford churchyards, with burials only to take place in existing vaults. However, this order seems to have been ignored; by 1887 the cemetery was supposedly so full that bones were littered between graves.The last new grave was dug in 1944, as St Sepulchre's finally stopped accepting new burials in 1945. The gatehouse lodge, which is owned by the city council, was let out to tenants, and the chapel was demolished in 1970. In 2004, St Sepulchre's was added to the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens, and in 2005 the group "Friends of St Sepulchre's" was created to uphold the cemetery.The cemetery was formerly surrounded on two sides by the Eagle Ironworks, which shut down in 2005 and has since been replaced by apartments. The cemetery is listed Grade II on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.

Southmoor Road is a residential road in Walton Manor, north Oxford, England.

The Eagle Ironworks was an ironworks owned by W. Lucy & Co. on the Oxford Canal in Jericho, Oxford, England. William Carter founded the works in 1812 with a shop in the High Street and moved it to its site beside the canal in 1825. It was on Walton Well Road at the northern end of Walton Street and backed onto St Sepulchre's Cemetery. The works ceased production in 2005, was demolished in 2007 and has since been redeveloped, mainly with apartments.

Wyndham House is a retirement home in North Oxford, England.Wyndham House was officially opened in June 1973 by Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. Also in attendance were Fred Ingram, the Lord Mayor of Oxford, who was involved with the scheme to establish the project. Others present included Lady Jean Rankin, a lady-in-waiting, and the Duke and Duchess of Marlborough. The facility replaced a home for elderly people in Banbury Road in North Oxford. The site was provided by St John's College, Oxford, who historically owned much of the land in the area, locally called Walton Manor. Originally, Wyndham House was a project of the British Red Cross although the connection with the Red Cross ceased in 1976. The home was previously run by the Wyndham Housing Association. It is now run by the Anchor Hanover Group.Wyndham House is located on Plantation Road and also abuts Leckford Place off Leckford Road. Opposite on Leckford Place are part of d'Overbroeck's College (for Year 7 to Year 11) and a public house on the corner with Plantation Road, The Gardener's Arms.

Kingston Road is a road in Oxford, England. It continues north from Walton Street, at the junction with Walton Well Road to the west and St Bernard's Road to the east, running parallel with and to the west of Woodstock Road. Kingston Road is the main road in Walton Manor. At the northern end, there is a staggered junction with Aristotle Lane to the west and Polstead Road to the east. The road continues as Hayfield Road. Southmoor Road and Southmoor Place lead off Kingston Road to the west. The area was formerly part of the estate of St John's College, Oxford. Kingston Road is named after the village of Kingston Bagpuize, whose Church of England parish church is under the patronage of the college. Many of the houses in Kingston Road are terraced, created as part of the generally grander North Oxford estate to the east. Numbers 114–138, 149–156 and 159–164 are terraces built in 1870–75 by the local architect C.C. Rolfe. All are Grade II listed buildings.In the Victorian era the families in Kingston Road were more often from the local area than those in the rest of the estate. In 1881, 40.7% of the families were artisans.

Walton Manor is a residential suburb in Oxford, England. It is north of Jericho and the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter and forms part of North Oxford. The street layout and many of the area's buildings date from the mid-19th century. It was developed on land belonging to St John's College, Oxford. In 1975, Walton Manor was designated as a Conservation Area under the Town and Country Planning Act 1971. The conservation area is bounded by Leckford Road on the north, Woodstock Road on the east, the properties fronting Observatory Street to the south, and Kingston Road and Walton Street to the west. The main road north–south through the area is Kingston Road, which continues southwards as Walton Street towards the city centre. Walton Manor has a residents' association. Walton Manor Farm used to be on the site of St Sepulchre's Cemetery, in Jericho, just south of the Eagle Ironworks on Walton Well Road.

Jericho Health Centre is a health centre on Walton Street in Oxford, England. It is named after the district of Jericho, just northwest of central Oxford. It is part of the United Kingdom's National Health Service (NHS). In June 2012, New Radcliffe House, further south on the opposite side of Walton Street, on the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter development site, was completed by the construction company Longcross. The centre moved into the ground floor of this new building in 2012. The architects were Hawkins Brown, based in London, and the building cost £11 million. Its location has opened up a view of the historic Grade I listed Radcliffe Observatory from Walton Street. The building is owned by Oxford University and the ground floor is leased to the NHS. There are two separate practices in the building: Dr Leaver and partners, and The Observatory Medical Practice. The local district nurses and health visitors are also based in the building.

Warnborough Road is a residential road in North Oxford, England.At the southern end of the road is a junction with Leckford Road and at the northern end is a junction with Farndon Road, two roads that lead west off Woodstock Road, a major arterial road out of Oxford to the north. Tackley Place leads west halfway up the road to Kingston Road. Opposite the junction at the southern end is part of d'Overbroeck's College (for Year 7 to Year 11).The area where Warnborough Road is located in Walton Manor was originally owned by St John's College, Oxford. Houses in the road were first leased by the college between 1877 and 1896. Nos 7 and 8 were designed by the architect Harry Wilkinson Moore. Nos 22 to 33 are by John Galpin & George Shirley. The houses are in a late Victorian style and of brick construction. The premises for Daily Information were originally located in Warnborough Road, founded by John Rose (1925–2004) in 1964.Warnborough College was founded on Warnborough Road in 1973 and moved to Yatscombe Hall, former home to the Greek scholar Gilbert Murray and Lord Shawcross, at Boars Hill about four miles south from the city of Oxford in 1976.Oxford Research Group was previously located at 22 Warnborough Road, but has now moved to London.
