Sutton Common BT Tower

Croker Hill stands just outside the western edge of the Peak District national park, overlooking Congleton in Cheshire. Near the summit stands the Sutton Common BT Tower, built during the 1960s. Popular with hill walkers, Croker Hill offers fine views of the Cheshire Plain; on clear days, Manchester city centre and as far away as Snowdon can be seen.

Cheshire's Silk 106.9 is an Independent Local Radio serving Macclesfield and parts of East Cheshire, owned and operated by neighbouring station Chester's Dee Radio.It broadcasts a mix of current and classic hits alongside local news and sport. As of March 2023, the station broadcasts to a weekly audience of 12,000, according to RAJAR.

Bosley Minn is one of two names – the other being Wincle Minn – given to a prominent hill in southeast Cheshire and in the southwestern corner of the Peak District National Park in northern England. The long axis of the Minn runs NNE–SSW and its broad summit, which reaches to 386 metres (1,266 ft) at its highest point, slopes away to the valley of the Shell Brook in the east and towards Bosley Reservoir in the west. It is the western aspect of the hill, facing Bosley which is known as Bosley Minn whilst the eastern side which faces the village of Wincle is referred to as Wincle Minn.

Bosley Reservoir is a large reservoir created to feed the Macclesfield Canal system, specifically the twelve Bosley locks. It is fed from the surrounding hills, including Bosley Cloud which rises to 1,125 feet (343 m).

Oakgrove is a village in Cheshire, England. It is part of the civil parish of Sutton and is situated on the Macclesfield Canal which is crossed here by a swing bridge and on the A523 road, just north of the boundary with Gawsworth civil parish.

The Church of St Mary the Virgin is in Leek Road, Bosley, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Macclesfield, and the deanery of Macclesfield. Its benefice is combined with those of St Michael, North Rode, St Michael, Wincle, and St Saviour, Wildboarclough.

Bosley is a village and civil parish in Cheshire, England. At the 2001 census, it had a population of 406. The village is on the A523 road near to where it intersects the A54, about six miles south of Macclesfield. It is the site of Bosley Reservoir. The Macclesfield Canal runs through the parish. All its locks are in this section, including the noted Bosley Lock Flight. The village is immediately to the north of the Staffordshire border, close to the Peak District National Park. Arthur Herbert Procter, Victoria Cross recipient, was parish vicar of Bosley from 1931 to 1933.The village's tug of war team, formed in 1947, were world champions in 1975 and 1976.

Sutton Lane Ends or Sutton is a semi-rural village and civil parish, approximately one mile south of Macclesfield. In 2020 it had an estimated population of 936. The parish includes the villages of Langley and Oakgrove and the hamlets of Gurnett, Jarman and Lyme Green. Sutton is in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. The rivers Bollin and Rosendale run through Sutton Lane Ends, as does the Macclesfield Canal. The population of the entire civil parish is 2,464. In the past, the community was centred on farming, forestry and textiles; however, since these industries declined, most of the population now travel to nearby Macclesfield or Manchester for employment.Sutton Lane Ends has had an Anglican church, Sutton St. James, since 1840. The community of Sutton is served by a village shop, primary school (Hollinhey Primary School) and five public houses.

Langley is a semi-rural village in civil parish of Sutton, in the Cheshire East district, in the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England, on the River Bollin, near Macclesfield and Macclesfield Forest. In 2020 it had an estimated population of 554.Langley Mill, founded by William Smith in 1826, became the biggest silk printing, dyeing and finishing works in the world. The mill later went on to become Specialised Automobile Services, a specialist wire wheel manufacturer for classic and modern cars. The painter Charles Tunnicliffe was born in Langley and painted many birds at the four reservoirs behind the village in Macclesfield Forest. The village pub, The St Dunstan, is located on Main Road (the main road through the village). Langley also has a Methodist church and a village hall.

Langley Hall is a country house in the village of Langley, Cheshire, England. It was built in about 1650, and is described by the authors of the Buildings of England series as "a distinguished house". The house is constructed in coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and is roofed in stone slate. It has two-storeys and an attic. The entrance front is symmetrical with seven bays and a central doorway. Above the doorway is a cartouche containing a carved face. It is inscribed MAC 1696 (for M. Clowes and his wife). The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. It has been converted into three flats.

Sutton Hall is a former country house to the west of the village of Sutton Lane Ends, Cheshire, England. The present building dates from the middle of the 17th century, with additions and alterations in the late 18th century, and replaced a previous manor house. It has since been converted into a pub/restaurant.

Bosley railway station served the village of Bosley, Cheshire. The station was opened by the North Staffordshire Railway in September 1849 as part of the Churnet Valley line.The station was some distance from the village, to which it was linked by a footpath. To travel between the village and the station by road was a much longer journey. The main customer of the station was the corn mill belonging to Francis R Thompstone & Sons Ltd which was situated next to the station. Thompstones also had their own 2 ft 6 in (762 mm) tramway which ran for 0.75 miles (1.21 km) from the mill to the Macclesfield Canal and was used for transporting corn from the canal to the mill. The tramway opened in 1887 and closed around 1925. Remains of the track can still just be seen in a shallow cutting through woodland, leading to the old transhipment dock, just below Bosley bottom lock.Bosley station remained open until passenger services were withdrawn from the northern end of the Churnet valley line (North Rode – Leek) in 1960. Freight services lasted until 1964 when they too were withdrawn and the track lifted.Today, the station remains as a private residence and the church near it still remains active. The trackbed has been built on by industrial buildings. The trackbed can be traced on a map to Leek and Macclesfield.
