Gulf Islands National Park Reserve is a national park located on and around the Gulf Islands in British Columbia, Canada. In the National Parks System Plan, this park provides representation of the Strait of Georgia Lowlands natural region, the only place in Canada with a Mediterranean climate of dry, sunny summers and mild, wet winters, the result of a rain shadow effect from surrounding mountains between the region and the ocean. It has similar dominant vegetation as the Pacific Northwest, such as coastal Douglas-fir, western red cedar, shore pine, Pacific dogwood, bigleaf maple, and red alder, but also contains the northern extent of some of the more drought tolerant trees such as Garry oak and Arbutus. The park was created in 2003 as the fortieth national park. It covers 36 square kilometres (14 sq mi) of area on 16 islands and more than 30 islets, reefs and surrounding waters, making it the sixth smallest national park in Canada.

Long Harbour Aerodrome (TC LID: CLH3) is located 1.1 nautical miles (2.0 km; 1.3 mi) west northwest of Long Harbour, British Columbia, Canada.

Ganges Water Aerodrome (IATA: YGG, TC LID: CAX6) is located 1 nautical mile (1.9 km; 1.2 mi) southeast of Ganges on Saltspring Island in British Columbia, Canada.

Parker Island is a roughly 400-acre (160 ha) island in the Southern Gulf Islands of British Columbia, Canada. It forms the western side of Montague Harbour, sheltering it from the strong wind gusts of Trincomali Channel. The island may be reached by floatplane, private boat, helicopter or water taxi; there is no public ferry service. On Parker Island, there is a cable terminal of HVDC Vancouver Island, which is the endpoint of the second overhead line section of HVDC Vancouver Island starting at the east coast of Galiano Island and which reaches Parker Island in a 880-metre (2,890 ft) long span. Parker Island is named after Lieutenant George Ferdinand Hastings Parker of HMS Ganges, flagship of the Royal Navy's Pacific Station, which was based in Esquimalt.Parker Island has approximately 25 residents. Half of these residents live there part-time, due to the island's rustic grounds and harsh weather conditions.

Salt Spring Island or Saltspring Island is one of the Gulf Islands in the Strait of Georgia between mainland British Columbia, Canada, and Vancouver Island.The island was initially inhabited by various Salishan peoples before being settled by pioneers in 1859, at which time it was renamed Admiral Island. It was the first of the Gulf Islands to be settled and the first agricultural settlement on the islands in the Colony of Vancouver Island, as well as the first island in the region to permit settlers to acquire land through pre-emption. The island was retitled to its current name in 1910. It is named for the salt springs found in the northern part of the island. Salt Spring Island is the largest, most populous, and the most frequently visited of the Southern Gulf Islands.

Gulf Islands Secondary School (GISS) is a grade 8 to 12 public school in School District 64 Gulf Islands in British Columbia, Canada. It is located on Salt Spring Island and is attended by students from Saltspring Island, Pender Island, Galiano Island, Mayne Island and Saturna Island. The school also has an International Education program and is home to the Gulf Islands School of Performing Arts (GISPA). The GISS Improv Troupe has very close ties with Ladysmith Secondary School's drama department. GISS is also known for their cafeteria and culinary program, which has won a $1500 grant towards their garden and school composting. In 2014 Salt Spring Community Energy raised money for the installation of a 21 kW solar PV system for the gym roof. It was the second largest publicly owned solar array at the time. The energy savings created an annual scholarship from the electrical bill savings.

Ganges, British Columbia is an unincorporated community on Salt Spring Island in the province of British Columbia, Canada.

Prevost Island is an island in the southern Gulf Islands of the South Coast of British Columbia, Canada, located east of Ganges Harbour and midway between the southeastern extremity of Salt Spring Island (W) and the southern end of Galiano Island (E). The island was named for James Charles Prevost, who was British Commissioner for the San Juan Island boundary dispute of 1859-1870 and captain of HMS Satellite. Prevost Harbor on nearby Stuart Island, Washington is also named after Prevost and Satellite Island, within Prevost Harbor, is named after his ship. The Satellite played a critical role in the Lamalcha War in the same area in 1863.Most of the island was bought as a farm in the 1920s by Digby de Burgh, an Irishman from County Limerick, who used it to raise sheep, goats and cattle. His descendants still own much of the island, which is still primarily a sheep and cattle farm. A few smaller private homes were built on the northwest side of the island.

Montague Harbour Marine Provincial Park is a provincial park in British Columbia, Canada, located on Galiano Island, one of the Gulf Islands off BC's South Coast in Canada. It is accessible by BC Ferries from Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island or Tsawwassen on the Mainland. The Island's ferry terminal is at Sturdies Bay, about 6 km (3.7 mi) from Montague. It is a very popular anchorage in the summer months and mooring buoys are provided by the park for visiting boats. It is also a popular spot for kayakers to stop for a night. The park has great camping with sites overlooking the water, picnic tables and pit toilets. It is on a peninsula with beaches and rock pools to play in and explore. There is a small marina within walking distance from the park which stocks basic supplies.

Galiano Island (Hul'qumi'num: Swiikw) is one of the Southern Gulf Islands located between Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada. Located on the west side of the Strait of Georgia, the island is bordered by Mayne Island to the southeast, Salt Spring Island to the west and Valdes Island to the northwest. Galiano is part of the Capital Regional District Electoral Area G, and has a permanent population of 1,396 inhabitants as of 2021.Galiano takes its name from Spanish explorer Dionisio Alcalá Galiano, who explored the area in 1792.

The Gulf Islands Film and Television School (GIFTS) is a film school located on Galiano Island, British Columbia, Canada. It was initially founded by George Harris in 1995, but was purchased by Evan Allen and Barbara Allen in 2014.

Mount Maxwell Provincial Park is a provincial park in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, Canada. It is located on Burgoyne Bay and the Sansum Narrows on the western shores of Saltspring Island. It was established in 1938 for the views afforded from Baynes Peak, the highest point on the mountain, which encompass Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands and mainland British Columbia. It has an area of 231 hectares, but is adjoined by the Mount Maxwell Ecological Reserve to the west, and Burgoyne Bay Provincial Park to the south, creating a contiguous area of over 1100 ha of protected land.The mountain top can be accessed by gravel road, or by hiking trails from the north-east or Burgoyne Bay Provincial Park to the south. It has an elevation of 580m above sea level.Mount Maxwell was initially named Mount Baynes by Admiralty surveyor George Henry Richards, after Admiral Sir Robert Lambert Baynes in about 1859. However, local inhabitants began calling it Mount Maxwell, a name which was officially accepted in 1911. When the park was created it was agreed to name the summit Baynes Peak.
