Mount Calvary Cemetery is located in north-central Davenport, Iowa, United States. It was established as St. Marguerite's Cemetery in the 1850s on 20 acres (8.1 ha) of property donated by Antoine LeClaire. It was officially platted by the Rev. A. Trevis, the pastor of St. Margaret's Church. At the time the cemetery lay outside the city of Davenport. Mount Calvary is in a section of the city that includes three other cemeteries: Davenport Memorial Park, Pine Hill, and Mount Nebo, which is located behind Pine Hill. The first cemetery operated by the Catholic Church in Davenport was St. Mary's Cemetery in the west end. Bishop Mathias Loras of Dubuque bought that property on January 17, 1849 from Judge G.C.R. Mitchell for $120. The Mississippi and Missouri Railroad right of way was built through the southern section of the cemetery, and St. Mary's Church was erected on the property in 1867. Eventually the cemetery became too crowded and Holy Family Cemetery was established in the west end. St. Mary's Cemetery was discontinued and the graves were moved to either Holy Family and Mount Calvary in the early 1900s.Mount Calvary Cemetery contains the graves of the former bishops and priests of the Diocese of Davenport that surround a crucifix in the far end of the cemetery. Three of the bishops were initially interred in Sacred Heart Cathedral before being re-interred here in 1930. It also contains sections for the Carmelite Nuns, the Congregation of the Humility of Mary, the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the orphans from St. Vincent's Home.

Nicholas J. Rusch (February 16, 1822 – September 22, 1864) was a tutor, farmer, member of the Iowa Senate (1858–1860), the Lieutenant Governor of Iowa (1860–1862), Iowa’s Commissioner of Immigration, and a captain in the Union Army during the American Civil War.

Pine Hill Cemetery is located in north-central Davenport, Iowa, United States. It is in a section of the city that includes three other cemeteries: Mount Calvary, Davenport Memorial Park and Mount Nebo, which is in the back of Pine Hill. One of the cemetery's more prominent markers is a memorial to the Masons, which was erected in 1928 at a cost of $10,000.A.C. Fulton bought 75 acres (30 ha) of prairieland that was two miles outside the city of Davenport at the time. He had 500 evergreens planted on the property and called the area Pine Hill. The property was laid out in lots for a cemetery and the first burial was in 1855. Seven area churches maintained a section in the cemetery for their membership. Mount Nebo Cemetery was created in 1861 for B’nai Ameth and Temple Emanuel. The sections maintained by the individual churches were unified in 1920 and the cemetery was governed by a board of directors and maintained a sales office at the Kahl Building. A house for the caretaker was built on the property in 1931 and the sales office was moved there at that time. The cemetery was the site of the last native prairie plants in Scott County. They were moved to Scott County Park in 1972. The Pine Hill Cemetery Memorial Chapel was added to the property in 2003.

NorthPark Mall is a shopping mall located in Davenport, Iowa. As Davenport is part of the Quad Cities of Illinois and Iowa the mall serves the population of these cities. The mall is located northwest of the intersection of U.S. Highways 61 (Welcome Way) and 6 (Kimberly Road) at 320 West Kimberly Road. NorthPark Mall is one of two shopping malls operating in the Quad Cities area, the other being SouthPark Mall in Moline, Illinois. Like SouthPark Mall, this mall is operated by Macerich. The mall's anchor stores are Dillard's, JCPenney and Von Maur. There are 2 vacant anchor stores that were once Sears and Younkers. It is the third largest shopping mall in the state of Iowa.

Duck Creek Parkway is located in the cities of Davenport and Bettendorf in the U.S. state of Iowa. The parkway is 13.5 miles (21.7 km) long and passes through multiple parks as it makes its way along Duck Creek. The parkway is the oldest recreational trail in the Quad Cities and has its roots in the 1930s when the first section was built as a park road. The present design for the parkway and the bike path date from the 1970s. It begins at Emeis Park and Golf Course on the west side of Davenport and passes through Northwest Park, Marquette Park, Junge Park, Garfield Park, Eastern Avenue Park and Duck Creek Park and Golf Course where it enters Bettendorf. In Bettendorf it travels through Middle Park, Veterans Memorial Park and Devils Glen Park before it comes to an end. The parkway stretches 8.36 miles (13.45 km) in Davenport and 5.14 miles (8. 27 km) in Bettendorf. There are plans to connect the parkway and recreational trail with the Riverfront Parkway and Sunderbruch Park.

The Collins House is a historic building located on the eastside of Davenport, Iowa, United States. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1976, and on the Davenport Register of Historic Properties since 1993. Built as a farmhouse in 1860 the city of Davenport purchased the property and renovated it for a senior center in the mid-1970s.

The Iowa Soldiers' Orphans' Home, also known at the Annie Wittenmyer Home or the Annie Wittenmyer Center, located in Davenport, Iowa, United States is a former orphanage for children. It is listed on the Davenport Register of Historic Properties and as a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places. The home was originally used for orphans from the American Civil War. Starting in 1876, children from broken homes, as well as orphans from all of Iowa's 99 counties, were taken in at the home.

Davenport Mid City High School is a public alternative high school located in north central Davenport, Iowa. Mid City High School was established in 2014 in the building that was formerly a medical facility. It replaced the previous alternative school in the district, which was called the Kimberly Center. The purpose of the alternative high school is to decrease the school district's dropout rate. Many of the students enrolled here had problems in their previous schools. Classroom configurations include both traditional settings and collaborative learning settings that are more appropriate for team and project-based learning. The schools mascot, Mavericks, was chosen to reflect a student body that is "unorthodox, independent-minded and individualist, nonconformist, free speech, original or eccentric."The school is housed in a building that originally housed a medical-office complex at the former Davenport Osteopathic Hospital. In addition to the original building that is 37,355 square feet (3,500 m2), the district added a physical activity center at 14,300 square feet (1,300 m2) and it contains a multipurpose stage, a junior high-sized basketball/sports court, locker rooms, bathrooms, and two classrooms.

Davenport North High School is a public high school built in the northern area of Davenport, Iowa. North High School was established in 1985 in the building that was formerly Wood Junior High. In the fall of 1994, ninth graders were added to the school as part of a district-wide reconfiguration of elementary, intermediate and high schools. In January 1997, a new gymnasium was completed along with a "Classroom of the Future" and an Iowa Communications Network room. In 2001, a new cafeteria and auditorium were completed. A new locker and weight room were added in 2008 to accommodate visiting sports teams.

Columbia Avenue Historic District is located in the central part of the city of Davenport, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The district lies north and west of Vander Veer Park. The area is entirely residential and it contains brick apartment buildings that were built between 1930 and 1939. It is one of the city's smallest districts and it is unique among the other historic districts in that it contains primarily apartment buildings.

Temple Emanuel is a Reform synagogue located on the east side of Davenport, Iowa, United States. Organized in 1861, it is the oldest Jewish congregation in Iowa. It is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism (UAHC). In the 1830s, a dozen Jews were among the first residents of Davenport, and the synagogue was established after substantial numbers of Jews from Germany settled there in the 1850s. The congregation began with an Orthodox rabbi, but they soon embraced the Reform movement, as well as services in English rather than in German. In 2021, they entered into a sharing agreement with Congregation Beth Israel, and the two share a joint home called the Beit Shalom Jewish Community.

William P. Bettendorf (July 1, 1857 – June 3, 1910) was a German-American inventor. He is credited with the invention of the power lift sulky plow, the Bettendorf metal wheel and the one-piece railroad truck frame. By the age of 53 he held 94 patents. With his younger brother, Joseph W. Bettendorf, he founded the Bettendorf Axle Company. His first wife and children preceded him in death. He died as the company was rapidly expanding and before he moved into a palatial home he was building. The city of Bettendorf, Iowa is named after the two brothers.
